  • Great location, very responsible owner, well-equipped

"We travelled with our two young kids, without car rental. This place is beyond our expection and definitely we want to stay there again. The apartment at Lake street has great location, which is quiet and safe, close to a variety of grocery stores and restaurants, and easy access to public transportation, MUNI. Traffic on Lake street is not much, make it easy to walk around, even with stroller. At night, it is quiet and safe that I am not worried even when sometimes we got back quite late. Lake street is only one street north of the California street, on which California # 1 bus runs all the way east to downtown, and two streets north of Clement street, on which many grocery stores, either Chinese-style (New May Wah is the most popular one) or American style (Smart & Final), located. We even frequently went to nearby Trader joe's and Target, by taking MUNI. The owners, Matt and Linda are so kind and responsible. Whenever I had any question or ran into any trouble with TV-Cable, internet, or heater, they always helped us quickly. The apartment itself is well-equipped, making it easy for a family of four to stay there for an extended period of time. Overall we are very satisfied and surely would like to stay there again next time when we are in San Francisco."

  • Experience SF like a local

"I cannot recommend a stay at this property highly enough. Dana and his partner were great, hospitable hosts, and I feel that they went out of their way to make me welcome and make the most of my time in SF. The property is in a quiet, safe, charming residential area. The sunroom is exactly as pictured, and offers a great view, airflow, and abundant natural light (you're likely to wake with the sun). It is well-serviced by public transport within a few minutes' walking distance. I had no problem navigating the staircase. The bed is comfortable, and the amenities were ample for my 11-day stay. As a first time visitor, I appreciated the local feel of Noe Valley, but still found it easy to explore the city's various tourist attractions. Regardless of whether I wanted to be active, or just lie back and put my feet up, this was the perfect place for me to stay. I would have no hesitation staying here again."

  • Convenient studio

"My boyfriend and I had a very nice 5 day stay in this small but very convenient studio. The location was great and the neighbourhood quiet and charming. Ingrid was a wonderful host and very accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again."

  • Perfect place to stay in SF

"Although I'd done a bit of research about Noe Valley before our trip (and that influenced where we wanted to stay) we didn't really expect to be so close to such a peaceful and stress free place! 24th Street is full of fab shops and restaurants, we had awesome breakfasts in Toast a couple of times, pizza at Patxi's was incredible (Deep dish pizzas = a pizza pie!). Whole Foods supermarket round the corner is an amazing place to shop - a bit expensive perhaps, but the quality is superb. The apartment is very spacious, and with 3 teenagers, room to mooch and chill was very important. We almost had a disaster upon arriving though - the wifi wasn't working! ok, not a disaster for us, but pretty much time to leave for our kids. The owner quickly came by the early the next day and fixed it for us (plugged a cable back in, did I feel foolish?!) and calm was restored once more! If you've never been to SF before, you probably don't realise quite how small a city it is. We could walk 10 minutes down 24th street to Church to catch the J car into town (takes 15 minutes to Powell, which is pretty much next to Union Square). Stop off at Dolores Park for the view - amazing! Or, walk the opposite way to Castro and catch the 24 bus to Haight - two streets that provide some quite special sights! Fishermans Wharf and Alcatraz are also on MUNI, slightly longer journeys, but tops of 25 minutes. We had a rental car, and we only used it on one day out of the five whole days that we stayed. Parking outside the house is limited to 2 hours during the week days (8am to 7pm) but if you drive a couple of blocks south of 24th street, parking is unlimited. Just check the street cleaning times. We parked on Clipper, about 10 minutes walk away, but through lovely streets and past amazing houses! The flat provided all we could want for the last stretch of our holiday - comfy beds, hot water, good showers and a bath! kitchen was well equipped and the living and dining rooms comfy and relaxing. Communication was good during the booking process and once we were there. Vivian was helpful and on hand all of the time. Like others on here, it maybe is worth mentioning that the TV choices were more limited than other houses, if your stay involves watching a lot of TV, it may be worth investigating with the owner. However, in a city with so many sights to see, places to go, and things to experience, maybe the channel choice is pretty insignificant? It was to us! :)"
