  • Great place to stay in the Marina!

"My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this marina flat. The location was perfect and the flat was completely outfitted with everything you need. You can tell the owner takes pride in this flat. We look forward to another stay when we are back!"

  • Comfortable, quiet, convenient and well equipped. Highly recommended.

"San Francisco is quite expensive for any type of accommodation. Vivian's studio is modestly priced and it's 30-40 minutes by bus into the city. It's very conveniently located with multiple bus lines within a few minutes walk going to the city, the beach, south or north. Unless you have mobility issues, you won't need a car and you're probably better off without one. The neighborhood is great. It has a nice suburban feel without having to walk far for anything . There's a medium sized supermarket within 5 minutes walk plus plenty of smaller stores, cafes, restaurants, etc nearby. The wonderful Golden Gate park is only 10 minutes walk away. Vivian is a great host; she walked us through the studio showing us where everything was, talked us through her rules (which are very reasonable) and gave us good tips on public transport, cafes, etc. The studio was very clean and looks even nicer than the photos. The kitchen doesn't have an oven or stove. However, with the addition of some microwave safe cooking containers (I left one behind) I was able to cook pasta bolognese for dinner one night and beef tacos another. There is a small toaster oven, a toaster, coffee maker and a kettle (a necessity for making tea!). The fridge is a good size and there is a large water filtering jug which makes the water much nicer for drinking). The bathroom is clean and well appointed with various shampoos, lotions, medicines, etc available that you might need but may not be likely to carry on holidays. The Wi-Fi was reliable and fast - we had 3 phones and 2 tablets, sometimes all running at once and there were no problems. Vivian was happy to print some Alcatraz tour tickets for us that we'd bought online. The double bed is very comfortable and there are plenty of pillows, blankets, etc. We required 3 beds so Vivian provided a double air bed which I found surprisingly comfortable. The lounge folds out into a single bed however the hinge doesn't flatten out completely so there's a bit of a ridge in the middle - some may find this uncomfortable - if I had a choice, I'd use the airbed and leave the lounge upright. The neighborhood and the studio were very peaceful and quiet. There was a bit of noise from upstairs when Vivian's family were getting ready for the day or coming home but it was not intrusive in any way. The outside deck was being re-built while we were there - there was a little bit of noise at times from this but no inconvenience."

  • Beautiful Apartment in Lovely Neighborhood

"This property is at the end of a dead end street in a very upscale neighborhood. The ad described it as Noe Valley but I think this was on top of a hill so Id describe it as Diamond Heights. The apartment was lovely, plenty of room with beautiful views. The landlord seemed very organized, there was plenty of helpful information in pamphlets in the home. There was an allotted parking space but some neighbor had parked their junky car in the spot so I had to find street parking which wasn't much of a problem. Be warned if you do this, though, the street cleaning days are different on different sides of the street and different from the adjoining block near the apartment. I got a 68 dollar ticket and wasn't very happy. This property is one where you'd probably want a car. It is not near a bunch of shops ( by San Francisco standards) so you'd have to walk down or up a hill about 5 or more blocks to get to things. It is a very nice neighborhood, I found it very enjoyable staying up there since I had lived in SF as a early 20 something and certainly never could have afforded or known anyone who could have afforded this area so it was new to me."
