  • Perfect Retreat for a Working Weekend

"Kristine was a lovely host - she made sure we had everything we needed, that it was clean and well-maintained. I was visiting to plan and execute a wedding in the nearby area and having a cozy bed, kitchen and wifi at my disposal was just perfect. What I didn't expect was the stunning and peaceful environment - it was a wonderful way to wake up post-event to recuperate. I definitely would love to come back!"

  • Perfect Cottage

"My husband, sister and brother in law stayed her for the weekend to attend a wedding. Richard and Joyce were amazing! They met us as we arrived and gave us great advice on wineries and where to go to dinner. The cottage itself is adorable. Everything was so clean and organized! The pool and spa were exactly what we needed! Thank you Richard and Joyce!"

  • Beautiful Setting!

"Our group of five women from the east coast rented the Grape Escape as our home base for a wine country excursion. Happy to say, we had a great time! The house is not only gorgeous on the outside, but also spacious, beautifully appointed, and very comfortable on the inside. When we walked in we were greeted with a bottle of home-grown Zintensive Care and a vase full of Calla lilies from the garden. Then we looked at the rest: The fully-appointed modern kitchen, the roomy bedrooms, and the three full baths. Everything we needed. In back there was a porch, patio, hot tub, and lots of seating to take in the view during the day, and the stars at night. The property is on acreage, and was perfect for taking daily walks down the long driveway and out to the country road. We were surrounded by rolling hills, gardens, and grape vines everywhere. In fact, the owners, Carol and Virgil, grow Zinfandel grapes on this vineyard land for one of the nearby Dry Creek wineries--and make a pretty fine private label, too! Our hosts live just down the road, and it was a pleasure to meet them (and their dog Kallie) and talk to them about the area. Carol gave us good advice on local wineries and restaurants in Healdsburg and the area(along with places to avoid), and Virgil wowed us with a fantastic private barrel tasting and tutorial in his "cellar." The two of them really made the trip so memorable. Cheers to them! Hope to be back someday.."

  • Cozy, comfortable, and very special - we miss it already!

"My boyfriend and I loved Sue's charming cabin nestled in the hills of Healdsburg! This place was totally our speed - casual, comfortable, cozy, and "rustic" in the best possible way (and in none of the uncomfortable ways). We loved hanging out there so much, in fact, that we elected to skip restaurant dinners and grill out every night of our stay. In the evenings, while the sun was setting over the hills, we would take the lovely stroll down to the peaceful river with a bottle of wine from the day's explorations - you cannot beat the perfect location of country meets convenience to town. We did not use the downstairs bedroom and bath, but the upstairs master suite is VERY comfortable. As another reviewer mentioned, I do not believe there is any air conditioning, so if you are sensitive to this, keep it in mind. We were fine using the provided fans and keeping windows open for a breeze. All in all, a great place to stay. We know we'll be back, hopefully every year!"
