  • Great house

"We had a group of 10 stay for a few days and we had a great time. The house is well equipped for large groups and the indoor and outdoor spaces are overwhelmingly huge. We really enjoyed the large courtyard and hot tub. Would love to stay here again some time and highly recommend."

  • Beautiful Setting!

"Our group of five women from the east coast rented the Grape Escape as our home base for a wine country excursion. Happy to say, we had a great time! The house is not only gorgeous on the outside, but also spacious, beautifully appointed, and very comfortable on the inside. When we walked in we were greeted with a bottle of home-grown Zintensive Care and a vase full of Calla lilies from the garden. Then we looked at the rest: The fully-appointed modern kitchen, the roomy bedrooms, and the three full baths. Everything we needed. In back there was a porch, patio, hot tub, and lots of seating to take in the view during the day, and the stars at night. The property is on acreage, and was perfect for taking daily walks down the long driveway and out to the country road. We were surrounded by rolling hills, gardens, and grape vines everywhere. In fact, the owners, Carol and Virgil, grow Zinfandel grapes on this vineyard land for one of the nearby Dry Creek wineries--and make a pretty fine private label, too! Our hosts live just down the road, and it was a pleasure to meet them (and their dog Kallie) and talk to them about the area. Carol gave us good advice on local wineries and restaurants in Healdsburg and the area(along with places to avoid), and Virgil wowed us with a fantastic private barrel tasting and tutorial in his "cellar." The two of them really made the trip so memorable. Cheers to them! Hope to be back someday.."

  • Incredible Location for a Relaxing Weekend

"We had a truly exceptional stay at this property. The location is off the beaten path and a journey from the nearest town, but well worth it for the views and privacy up in the hills. The apartment is on the upper level of a barn on the vineyard so it is a bit rustic, but with modern amenities and a wonderful private pool/hot tub/spa with incredible views of the rolling hills of wine country. The owners arranged for a private wine tasting with us and we had a great time relaxing and enjoying great wine, snacks, and learning about the history of the winery with them. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to have an authentic wine country experience and would definitely go back!!"
