  • Spectacular property with all the comforts of home

"This being our first experience with a VRBO property, we couldn't have been more pleased. From the moment we pulled into the property welcoming us to Sky Mountain Ranch, we knew this would be a special place. Very secluded, yet close to the best that Telluride has to offer. Whether it be skiing, hiking or simply snowed in for a day, Frank & Anita's place makes you feel you're coming back to a mountain chalet. Amazing night skies and peaceful days on their 35 acres is the best detachment from the hustle of everyday working life. Nearly every comfort of home is provided, and Frank & Anita are quick to respond with any questions or concerns. We had an absolute blast, and can't wait to come back. I couldn't give this property a higher recommendation."

  • An artist's view of the mountains

"If you want to live inside an artist's space--meaning Nature and the home-owner's--this is the home to choose. The property is breathtaking inside and out, with clearly professional (but not precious or fragile) interior design. The views from every window--some of mountain peaks, others of carefully placed outdoor items--are stunning, and outdoor patios are carefully placed to focus attention on the most eye-catching mountain peaks. I sat out outside in the mornings (in my ski gear!) because it was too beautiful to stay inside. Spectacular sunsets and sunrises. The location allows for quick and easy access to the Mountain Village ski area, and the drive was so gorgeous we did not mind a short drive. Well worth it to be away from the busier and noisier commercial areas. Well- stocked kitchen, and thought-provoking bookshelves. The owner put a beautiful, fresh, Christmas tree in the home for us, and stocked the fireplace with wood and kindling. Visitors in winter for sure must have a four-wheel drive vehicle to access the property, which is at the top of a hill: Hence the stunning views. We will stay there again anytime we should be so lucky to visit the area. And it was totally worth the short drive to be away from the more commercial areas. The property is enveloped in total and complete silence 24/7. And we loved the very generous gift basket!"

  • Beautiful, relaxing, snowy and ICY!

"My fiancé and I chose Telluride, Colorado as our honeymoon destination. Cheryl Miller's Lovenest is a beautiful, homey, well-appointed vacation home/cabin perched on the top of a mesa (the home is built right on the edge of a steep, STEEP hill) and surrounded by forest. The views are panoramic and private... you will not see a single home or light anywhere. We were married in Laguna Beach, CA on New Year's Day 2017, and were excited to get started with the honeymoon. Skiing in Telluride (15 miles away- the Lovenest is actually isolated in Placerville, a "town" with a tiny store and post office), shopping, restaurants, etc. were high on the list. Now, to get to the Lovenest requires a drive up a six mile gravel county road. In January, it was covered in snow and, as we found out, ice. Our Ford SUV with traction control and chains (but was not 4x4 or AWD) could not make it up the road. Thus began a rather unfortunate series of events that were, to be clear, ALL weather-related. When we arrived at the road to make the final trek up to the house, our SUV couldn't make it. We thought we were sunk, but when we called Cheryl, she told us she would be there to help us... at 8 o'clock at night! Cheryl and her son-in-law arrived with two 4x4 SUVs and, after we parked the rental in a small lot, she drove us up to the Lovenest. But her generosity did not stop there... Cheryl proceeded to loan us her own AWD SUV! My wife and I were stunned by such a gesture. This unquestioned act of trust and generosity from Cheryl and her son-in-law nearly brought us to tears. We were able to get to Telluride, but then the 6 mile road up the mesa became icy and unpassable, and we eventually had to cut our trip short. We never skied, we never made it up to the Ski Village (which is above Telluride, not IN Telluride). Cheryl apologized when we left early, refunded the days we didn't use, and offered us a free day if we returned for the Telluride Film Fest, which we are hoping to do. Again, she was a sweet and generous host. That said, here is some potentially helpful info for future visitors to the Lovenest: 1. Clarks Grocer in Telluride is extensive and gourmet, but pricy 2. Clarks Grocer in Norwood is extensive and cheaper 3. We brought our own blu ray DVD player 4. The wood burning stove was GREAT (plenty of wood was provided) 5. was the jacuzzi tub 6. The loft / bed was magical 7. It was QUIET and ISOLATED... so be prepared! We will definitely return!"
