  • The best location!

"This is our 4th or 5th time staying at Shipyard condos and the 1st time at this unit. The location is perfect; a couple of blocks from the center of Duval and 1/4 mile from the best beach on the island,Fort Zach. You don't need a car when staying in Old Town and this spot is quiet but still close to everything. Don't want the sunset crowds of Mallory Square? Just grab one of the beach chairs and head out your back door over to what used to be part of the naval property and enjoy. We have stayed in a Shipyard unit that was strictly a rental income and they did not provide beach chairs, coolers, beach towels, guest book, etc. and staying in an owner occupied unit like Donna's is so much more convenient and personal. The unit is filled w/local artwork and personal, homey touches. If you don't want to eat out every nite, the kitchen is well stocked w/utensils,plates,etc. and there is a grill on the deck along w/spices in the cabinet, foil and ziploc bags. We bungeed our tandem bike rental like a pack mule and brought charcoal, cooler, lunch, chairs to the beach(along w/our travel hammock!) and settled in for a few hours of paradise. Hammock swinging in the shade, the beautiful green blue waters, and the smell of local yellowtail on the grill. The beach has chair rentals and a concession stand if you want to keep it simple. There is a large pool on site but w/the proximity to the beach, we rarely have used it but it's there to enjoy.Check out the guest book for suggestions in the area.We would highly recommend getting out on the water for a snorkel/dolphin watch/kayak excursion and also check out the Hemingway House, the Butterfly Conservatory, Mel Fisher museum, a walk thru KW cemetery and live music and happy hour at one of the bars. And Donna sent us a walking map and other info. Enjoy this little bit of paradise! Thanks! Alison and Mary"

  • Charmed by Sail Cat Aria

"We have stayed in many hotels, b&bs, rental houses in Key West; staying on the Aria was a unique and awesome experience. We are 3 couples: mom, dad and adult children with their partner. Our 3 day stay on the beautiful sail catamaran Aria was idyllic. From my first phone conversation with Captain Mark I knew he was professional and had a great vibe. The picturesque sunset trip kicked off the weekend and was the perfect romantic setting for a marriage proposal! (She said yes!) We booked a snorkel trip the following morning and were blessed with excellent weather and visibility on the reef. We saw turtles, yellowtail snapper, barracuda, reef sharks, parrot fish and many tropical fish and coral. Captain Mark and the crew were pleasant, accommodating and helpful. The Aria is beautiful and well appointed with clean, comfortable staterooms each with its own bathroom and shower. That said, do bring your own tervis tumblers for your happy hour cocktails! The location in the historic seaport is, in my opinion, the best place to be in KW, with some of the best bars and restaurants within view of the Aria's berth on the dock. Old Town and Duval Street are a 5 minute walk away. Oh! And the view of Key West Harbor from the boat is extremely entertaining. I can spend an indefinite period of time just watching the dingys, tour boats, yachts and sailboats sailing in and out of the harbor. Very amusing! I recommend a stay on the Aria for anyone who enjoys Key West dock and boating culture and adventure on the high seas as well as on land! We are so grateful for our time on the Aria!"

  • Can't wait to go back!!!

"First family vacation with my boyfriend and his family. We had an amazing time! The condo is located right on Duval. You can spend the whole day on the balcony watching people walk by, but it's far enough away from the "night life" so you can sleep well at night. Almost everything is walking distance... including tons of places to eat, Hemingway house, lighthouse, RockHoise, Southernmost Point, and many more. The condo itself is fully equipped, clean, spacious - full kitchen, wifi, beach towels - whatever you need. Ice cream shop, wine bar and convenience store across the street. Dominick was awesome to rent from. We can't wait to return! Oh... and my boyfriend and I got engaged there!!!"

  • 50th Anniversary Celebration

"My husband and I wanted to do something special for our 50th wedding anniversary. We decided to take the family to Key West as some of them have never been. We rented the Anderson House in Truman Annex, which is a quiet, upscale neighborhood within walking distance to Mallory Square, Duval Street and many other places of interest. The house is just beautiful and roomy. There were 8 adults and a baby. Everything we needed was there. Erika was wonderful to work with. Her decorations in the house are beautifully done. It was a perfect weekend!"
