  • Serenely Fantastic!

"First trip to Cedar Key exceeded all expectations! Great birding and fishing. This unit was a big part of our memorable stay - tremendous vista with views of marsh and waterway!!. Very comfortable, spacious and well laid out to enjoy nature's splendor whether inside or out on the deck. At a very quiet end of the island. Owner provided many "little things" like sandwich bags and laundry detergent which made the stay much more pleasant. Its a bit of a climb up to the third floor, but that just warms your legs up for long enjoyable walks through an old time, peaceful town where everyone was sooo friendly. We will definitely be back !!!"

  • Escaping Hurricane Mathew

"I can't say enough about Miss Etta's House and Jim Webb, the manager. As hurricane Mathew was approaching us I got onto VRBO and found this wonderful home that my family and friends escape to to wait out the hurricane. The home is nicely and comfortably furnished with everything you could need and plenty of separate living areas so you don't feel on top of each other. Jim contacted me within 10 minutes so I knew we could start packing. Cedar Key is a quaint and historic little laid back town with several good restaurants and shopping opportunities. Tony's Seafood Restaurant's clam chowder is the best I have ever eaten. We also enjoyed Steamers Clam Bar & Grill, 83 West and had a great shrimp burger at Away From The World, known for their many different beers. Next time we visit we hope to take advantage of the good fishing there."

  • So Relaxing.......

"What a delicious surprise. Its a hidden gem right in the middle of town. We passed by it twice before we found it. The foliage and the natural yard and the huge tree (adorned with fairy lights) are awesome. Little turtles often came to visit. The fenced in yard is great for doggies....plus it appears that it also keep the many local feral cats out!!!Privacy abounds, yet we loved being able to walk a few blocks to eat and have a brew or 2!! The dogs loved walking along the water ways....and through the enchanting neighborhoods. The inside of the cottage is rustic with updated amenities and many delightful touches. ( Loved the hanging shutter divider in the family room.)The cottage reminded me of my aunts much loved cottage on the river up North. The porch swing is perfect for reading a book and sipping a G+T. We plan to return when the weather turns cooler in the fall.........it was in the high nineties while we were there, but that was the temp at home as well. Thoroughly loved our vacation!!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cottage."
