  • Loved the corner condo!

"My husband and I went for our 25th wedding anniversary. Loved the corner condo as it allowed two views of the gulf. The bed was very comfy and den was very open with kitchen. The patio furniture needs updated, although I did like the high chairs for the view. Also, there is no elevator for third floor. Not a problem for us and stairs centrally located but could be for some people. Love having reserved parking right at the stairs. Lots of beach front. Never felt crowded. We will definitely be back. So much better than those huge condo complexes."

  • Best location in the complex and on the island!

"Booking a ground level condo was the best decision! No walking up and down stairs hauling things to the beach, you open the sliding door and take a few steps and you are on the boardwalk to the beach! Priceless! The beach was clean and the chair and umbrella service was an awesome bonus! Being able to grill out off the patio was so convenient as well! The condo was in good condition but dated and I felt it was too cluttered with decor. It made the condo feel vey tight. The queen pullout sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable for my 12 year old. I know sleeper sofas are not the most comfortable mattresses but it could have been better for him. My 7 year old said the full size sleeper was good and it seemed more comfortable than the other one. The queen bed was comfortable and the linens were nice. I loved having a washer and dryer in the unit. We didn't have to pack as much coming down so we had more room in the car to bring souviners home! I would rent this unit again if we choose to vacation in Fort Walton. : )"

  • Nice place to stay!

"I enjoyed our stay in Island Sands 308. All of the furniture was comfortable, the dining table was perfect because it had folding "wings" to allow more walking room. I don't necessarily want to do a pros and cons list, but some things a potential renter might want to know are these: 1. There is no hair dryer. 2. There is no elevator, so if your are physically limited in some way, three flights of stairs several times a week could be taxing. 3. The balcony furniture consists of 4 plastic adirondack chairs only. There is no table of any kind to sit things on, and the fact that the seating isn't bar height makes it a little less than desirable because you can't see over the rail unless you are standing up. 4. Bed pillows are limited and small so you might want to bring one from home if you like lots of pillow. All of that said, this is a nice place to stay. It is cozy and clean. The decor in the living room/kitchen area is spot on and there is a lot of pretty color making the room pop. There is the perfect amount of rug covering some of the tile (except no kitchen rugs). The bathrooms and bedroom could use a coat of paint to spice it up and make it a little more "beachy". I'm not complaining about that, but for someone like me who pays attention to detail and appreciates aesthetics, it is worth mentioning. Please do not perceive this review as negative. It is simply informational. I don't have any complaints, just a few things that could be improved upon (except the elevator situation, of course)... hence the 4 star rating. And again, this is a nice place to stay! I do recommend it and I personally would stay here again! But of course, next time I'd know to bring a hair dryer ;)"
