"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had awesome time, very relaxing location very quiet low key no high rise hotels just home owners and rental homes. No fancy landscaping all natural old Florida! Beach was awesome too! Took the doggie out and let her run! Just a few people here and there no big crowd no jet ski or boats was awesome! Felt almost like it was our own private beach. Rental house was perfect felt like home! Older house but that's what makes it great! Nothing fancy here just sand and sun! Great location walked to beach road was sand! That was kool! lol beautiful time! One week felt like 3 will be back again! 5 stars! Loved it wouldn't change a thing!"

  • Overall was a great property and trip. We love SGI.

"We have visited SGI a few times and stayed in different homes each time. There were many great things about this property. The pool and area around pool were better than any we have stayed at. The wrap around deck and view were a real plus. If you have several in your group and some would like "their own space", the ground level family suite is excellent. Location was really convenient for beach access and close enough to town that we could go via golf cart. One negative would be the bathrooms. They serve their purpose but neither in the main house are as nice as the rest of the home. The only other thing that could have been better was the overall cleanliness. We didn't arrive until 7 pm and had not pushed to arrive earlier so there was ample time but it seemed that it was cleaned in a hurry. We cleaned the guest bathroom floor upon arrival as it seemed it may have been completely missed. The kitchen was equipped ok but not if you are cooking all your own meals. There was a Keurig coffee pot which was nice. Hot tub was an added bonus that you don't have with most homes. Overall stay was good and we would return and recommend this property to others. We love SGI and it's relaxing atmosphere."

  • The Smith's review

"My third trip to the island - have stayed here every time. FYI, love the new floors. I bring my husband and kids here as often as i can, love that it's dog friendly. 1/2 block from the bay with the most amazing views of the sunset over Apalachacola. We walked to the beach every morning for sunrise and coffee. I think price wise it's the best deal on the island. We also enjoyed riding our bikes to Harry A's to eat dinner. Looking forward to coming back next year! Thanks Tim. Sincerly, Paul and Margery Smith"

  • Cozy island getaway

"We overall enjoyed our stay and the management company worked with us and had great communication, especially when our trip was partially disrupted by Hurricane Hermine. St. George Island was great and Appalachicola is such a cute town. This house had great amenities (especially the kitchen) and was decorated with a cute beach theme. Most things were newer. However, there are some things about this place that are outdated and it is clearly an older home. For instance, one of the beds is probably from the 70s and it is tiny...maybe 5 1/2 feet long. We also had issues with the water heater. Plus, it seemed odd to us that we as the vacationers had to be present for the maintenance guy or leave a key for him. The other downfall is that you can't see the ocean. It's a treetop view and other homes, which sucks but only if you're really staying at the home instead of going to the beach or exploring the island. But the beach was just a short two blocks away."
