  • Good location with lots of room

"This property is very roomy, quiet and conveniently located; walk to the beach, the bay, shops, rental places and food on the island and take an easy bike ride to the state park (which is truly beautiful and pristine). The house is in the trees, so not as hot as the houses right on the beach and you can enjoy a nice breeze while sitting on one of the two covered decks that face the gulf (but you are not able to access the rooftop deck)! Kitchen and its tools are ok for making light meals or breakfasts (go out and eat fresh seafood!). Amenities are basic. Double beds and pillows are comfy. Host is very responsive and easy to rent from. Our family of four had plenty of space, played some of the games left at the house but really enjoyed being able to access the offerings of St. George Island easily! Would rent again!"

  • Great place!

"Totally enjoyed our stay at the last straw. The set up was ideal for our group. It was comfortable and the location was great, just a couple blocks to the beach.the kitchen had most things we needed including big pots and colander to cook lots of local seafood. We had some key issues but those were quickly resolved. Having a washer dryer was a definite plus but given the limited towels provided it was a must. I would suggest a couple extra towels for convenience. Throw rugs for inside the front door would be nice also to help cut down the sand factor. We stayed with our family pets which was also a big plus. The additional fee was reasonable.i think it would be nice to make it a deposit instead that could be returned if kept clean which we worked hard at, the only other concern was the oven. It would only go up to 280 temp wise but then cooked WAY higher than that and we had some early casualties as a result. Either a repair or a thermometer in the oven I think would be great. Overall I would absolutely stay again as would my family members!"

  • Great vacation home on a beautiful, quiet beach

"If you are looking for a relaxing vacation spot in a beautiful home, I highly recommend the Lite House on St. George Island. The house is centrally located within easy walking access to restaurants and local attractions. The beach is just steps away from the door which is very convenient. The beach is beautiful and not crowded. We were even able to watch dolphins from the upper deck of the house! With three bedrooms and three levels to the house, there was plenty of room for our three families. The kitchen was well stocked with a variety of cooking utensils which made meal preparation very easy. There is a dining table that seats 6, along with four additional seats at the kitchen island. The living area was very comfortable, as well. In addition to the indoor space, there are three levels of outdoor space with comfortable deck chairs and chaise lounges. The washer/dryer was much appreciated, as was the wifi access. Jamie was a pleasure to work with and was quick to respond to my emails prior to the trip. We encountered no issues or problems during our stay, but I knew if we did, Jamie was just a phone call away. We have rented many vacation homes on the Carolina coast and in Florida over the years, but the Lite House is definitely a family favorite. I highly recommend it and we would most definitely stay here again."
