  • we really enjoyed the mountain view cabin

"My wife and I just wanted to get away somewhere quiet with beautiful views and a very comfortable environment. This place definitely fit that! We enjoyed late morning breakfast in the screened porch and exploring the local nature trails and falls that were within a short driving distance. Also there is a nice lake -- Lake Blueridge which was very picturesque nearby. The pictures and description of the home amenities were exactly as described. My only warning to other vacationers is make sure you drive a car with decent ground clearance for the gravel drive up to the cabin -- especially if it was snowing or raining. We made it up and down the gravel drive consistently, but I would have felt much better with a SUV or a 4 wheel drive vehicle with a bit of clearance. Luckily we were here in the summer when it didn't rain or snow -- so the uneven gravel was the worst of it."

  • A Great Place to Stay

"We had a wonderful visit at the Manarin's home. It was VERY clean, well maintained, all appliances working, the air conditioning was up to speed and the furnishings are true to the pictures on the website. We had four generations of family gathered together and we had plenty of room. The home truly suited our needs very well. The kitchen had everything we needed in the way of pots/pans, plates, silverware, glasses. Having use of a laundry room was great as well. The beds were comfortable and the baths had plenty of towels and washcloths. We enjoyed the large dining table for both family dinners and playing games afterwards. It was nice having games and jigsaw puzzles available at the house. The porches are a great outdoor space and we also enjoyed being close to a place to swim. Our trip did not allow us enough time to do any hiking or horseback riding so we cannot comment on that. The owners have a map of the community on the refrigerator. It made it so easy to find everything. The owners also sent us a very informative arrival letter upon renting their home. It made finding the home and entering it amazingly easy! Overall, this is a great place to stay and the owners were very easy to work with! We would certainly enjoy the opportunity to return for another visit!"

  • Reunion Retreat

"My family reunion consist of 8 siblings & their spouses, which we rotate who host the reunion each year. This year my sister and I hosted. We found Heaven & was easily able to reserve the house for Labor Day weekend. The owner was very accomodating. The house had plenty of space for 16 people to move around both indoors as well as outdoors. During the day we had additional visitors to come in and spend the day with us and still had plenty of space. The children enjoyed swimming, kayaking and playing on the sliding rock. Several of the adults enjoyed hiking and walking throughout various places within Big Canoe. The house had comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms and televisions. However, we would have liked to have had a bigger TV in the main living room. However, the TV in the game room was a great size. The kitchen was well stocked, as just about every meal from Friday night to Saturaday morning was cooked either indoors or outdoors utilizing the grill. We definitely will consider renting this house for future reunions."

  • Multi Family Vacationers

"We loved our stay at the River House! We were 12 between three families. There was plenty of room for all of us inside and outside the home. We fully enjoyed being next to the river; we fished, floated, crawfish hunted, had a campfire and just enjoyed the tranquility of the river sounds. The pool table, hot tub, hammock, and porch swing amentities were great. The house is conveniently located by the cute town of Blue Ridge, tubing, rafting, horse back riding and more. The owner was great and friendly, there was a small mechanical issue with the hot tub and the owner took care of it right away. The home does seem to have well water, being seasoned campers it did not bother us but if you prefer city water bring some bottled water. We had lots of fun and can't wait to go back. Thank You!!!"
