    "This condo was very clean and spacious. We ate out on the lanai which over looks the golf course for almost every meal. The lanai has ceiling fans and shades to wind down in the afternoon which keeps the condo from becoming too hot. We used the barbecue on several occasions. The condo is stocked with every cooking appliance and utensil you could possibly need as well as cleaning/ laundry supplies and beach/outing extras(too many to describe) etc. I loved the fact that this complex is basically the last complex on Alii Dr. You are close enough to Kona and to Keauhou shopping centre but still seemed very quiet. There was Wifi, TV, books etc available as well as a hand book with tips about sights around the island. I loved having access to the lanai off the Master bedroom as well as the living room, we slept with the patio doors open for the breeze to blow through. Pat and Jim were quick to respond to our emails and easy to deal with. We really enjoyed our stay on the Big Island and would recommend this condo."

  • Lovely stay!

    "We had a lovely stay at Ansilla and Roberto's condo in Kona. The condo is comfortably furnished, has plenty of privacy, and the kitchen is well-stocked with pots/pans/dishes/etc for preparing shared meals. One evening my parents and two friends came over for dinner, and we had no problem preparing and serving a meal for six. We have a toddler, so we brought a small Therma-rest for her to sleep on, which worked out just fine. I am used to bathing my daughter in a tub, but the shower was spacious enough for me to bathe with her; I think she discovered a love for the shower! Geographically, this condo is conveniently located. You can walk to a number of beautiful locations, and it was easy to travel both north and south of downtown Kona. We hope to stay here again next time we make it to Hawaii! Thank you Ansilla and Roberto for letting us rent your condo for the week; we made many memories on this trip!"

  • Wonderfully comfortable and relaxing, gorgeous views and great amenities

    "We would go back in a heartbeat, and definitely try to book this unit again. Yes it is a 3-floor walk-up, and there is no air conditioning, but with plenty of fans, sliding screen doors, an expansive wrap-around lanai for outdoor dining, watching sunsets and breaking waves, it's hard to picture a nicer spot. We only closed the glass sliders one evening when a tropical storm blew by. This an end unit with south and west exposure, really great views from third floor level. Third floor gives you the most privacy also. Being on the top floor, this unit had great high sloping ceilings which added significantly to the feeling of openness. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, washer/dryer, a perfectly adequate kitchen with all the standard expected appliances, and the refrigerator has a dynamite ice maker and there are lots of cold packs in the freezer. Good size combined dining and living room, but my wife and I took all our meals out to the dining table on the lanai. Main bedroom area has a king bed, view of the ocean and there are sliding shoji screens that can be closed to provide privacy from the living/dining area if so desired. This bed was very comfortable. Second bedroom has a queen size bed and the windows in this room face the mountains. There are plenty of closets, lots of hangers, beach toys like noodles, coolers for packing lunches for day trips, plenty of beach towels, bath linens, etc. Although we only used the TV to check storm forecasts the instructions were easy to understand and lots of channels available. Also CD player in the unit and wi-fi in the complex. It seemed plenty fast for the business correspondence I occasionally needed to do with my morning coffee. I brought binoculars but owner also has two pair in the unit. The KKSRC has three really nice tennis courts and a large pool which is about to undergo some refurbishment. We spent time there every day and it was delightful. The grounds are very well tended and the landscaping is quite mature and lovely. To give the condo buildings and the townhouses some additional privacy there is no long continuous walk along the water edge or rather the 20'+ high, broken lava cliff edge. You can walk along a couple of the buildings and then the paths end either in broken lava scree or dense low barrier hedges which you don't want to try to walk through. Being an older resort (35+ years) it was built quite close to the ocean edge which makes for a delightful and picturesque setting."

  • Great Vacation Property - Superb Oceanfront Unit, Great Snorkeling/Beaches, Nice Interior

    "Quality, comfortable, oceanfront (not just ocean view) unit in the very nice Keauhou resort neighborhood. Close to the touristy hot mess that is Kailua-Kona town (15 minutes) but far enough to feel like a local in a very quiet, well maintained part of the Big Island (beautifully landscaped, fabulous sunsets, and adjacent to a golf course). About 20-30 minutes south of the KONA airport so very accessible and easy to get to. Comfortable, clean, tropical-ish interior and furnishings. Spacious and clean throughout. Excellent restaurants, grocery stores (KTA) and drug store (Longs) in shopping complex nearby (2 minutes). Just be prepared for the relatively high prices on everything since almost everything has to be shipped in from somewhere else. Farmer's market on Saturdays in this complex with lots of great local produce (mac nuts, honey, tropical fruits, etc.). Tip: Just don't get any of the expensive baked goods sold there if you are looking for something tasty - very average (dry and tasteless) and in some cases, downright inedible gloppy messes of saccharine sweet tropical fruit flavored concoctions). However, we bought some of the stuff anyhow to support the locals. Well-furnished kitchen with all of the amenities and accoutrements to make a great meal. Close to excellent snorkeling and swimming beaches (5 minutes away), including your own swimming lagoon next door to the complex. Down the street from where many of the water excursion boats depart (Captain Cook snorkeling, dolphin tours, night manta ray dives). Clean, refreshing, well-maintained ocean front pool less than 100 yards away if you feel like a quick dip. Very accommodating and responsive owner/property manager (even offered us a refund if we had wanted to leave early on account of Hurricanes Madeline/Lester). Well-located for all of your Big Island outdoor excursions (volcanos, cowboy country in Waimea, green sand beach, Waipio black sand beaches, and Hapuna Beach). Only downside is that you have to pay extra ($25/day plus tax) for air conditioning but we found it totally necessary for sleeping on those hot humid nights where the air is so thick you feel like you can drink the air and everything feels slightly damp including your sheets and body. There were decent ocean breezes at times while we were there in August/early September, but all those did was to blow hot humid air around, so worth getting the air conditioning option."
