"This condo was fabulous and exceeded our expectations! Clean, modern, and well-equipped, with comfy beds and ample space to spread out. Having a double lanai (porch) , with cushioned lounge chairs and table/chairs, facing the ocean, with breezes and gentle waves, was frosting on the cake!!!! The Ali'i staff was professional and attentive. Unit #540 made our time in Maui exceptional."

  • Awesome unit, great location, mesmerizing ocean sounds

"This resort offers a calm, laid back feel, great amenities and a central location which  makes getting anywhere on the island a breeze. Unit 525 is awesome and we couldn't have been happier!! We always hope our VRBO condo will be as good as it looks.  Our goal is to pick a place good enough that each day you have to decide whether you're going to just stay put ... or do some exploring.  At Sugar Beach... mission accomplished.  We were always slow to head out and happily coming back to enjoy the sunset from the lanai.  It was our favorite place to be. In addition, the condo was extremely well provisioned, so that it truly seemed almost like home.  We enjoy cooking, and the kitchen was stocked with utensils, pots and an ample supply of condiments, spices, olive oil, vinegar... even sirracha!  Laundry soap, dryer sheets and even spot remover were provided.  The bed was very comfortable and the unit was quiet.  And the parking is covered and a very short walk. The pool area was a great place to hang out, and the beach was uncrowded and a great place to walk.   The on site SandWitch cafe is also a nice amenity. We've been to Hawai'i many times, and wanted to visit Maui when the whales were in residence.  We never tired of watching the whales easily seen from the lanai, and we did a whale watch with Pacific Whale Foundation.  Don't miss the twice weekly "40 Ton" talk at the NOAA Whale Sanctuary in Kihei. We've been avid whale watchers for decades, and, to our surprise,  we were impressed with the informative and very current presentation.  We prefer the Kihei area to Kannapali and old Lahaina.  It has a real town feeling with lots of well priced restaurants, all of which are frequented by locals as well.  Kalama Park for sunset was a great, and every morning, the local canoe clubs would be on the water.  For a small fee, you can just show up and join in."

  • Nice stay in 526

"We enjoyed our stay in unit 526. The view from the lani is perfect. Drop off your bags, grocery shop at Foodland, pick up steaks to BBQ and relax."
