  • Location cannot be beat!

"This home is adorable and possibly the cleanest and most organized vacation rental we have ever stayed. Agree with other reviewers that the kitchen is well-stocked and the appliances were also very nice. We found the beds to all be comfortable. The back room did suffer at times from road noise; however, the front room enjoyed the lovely rhythms of the ocean. The A/C worked well for all spaces in the home which was important to one of the members in our party. Our time outdoors at this home was the absolute best... we were able to access the water and enjoy use of the water toys we found in the homes outdoor storage. We even spotted a turtle while snorkeling to the right of the pier! A short walk from the home toward the left, we found Pahonu Pond... (check google earth)... you feel like you are in a huge swimming pool and the historical aspect is interesting. We also learned while there from other tourists that this location was used in filming Magnum PI! Home configuration notes that may or may not matter to your party: The larger (king) bedroom with gorgeous ocean views does not have an attached bathroom... this room will use the huge and gorgeously updated bathroom (double vanity) across the living/dining space and likely shared with anyone sleeping on the living room day beds. The smaller, darker (also king) room in the back does have a much smaller attached bathroom (single vanity), but the toilet is separate from the sink and shower/tub and shares space with the washer and dryer. The sink and tub/shower space has a door for privacy; however the toilet/washer/dryer space has only a heavy curtain for privacy from the bedroom. For our group of my husband and I, our young son, and my mother, the space worked well. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and the meticulous care of the home, and we appreciated the help and sincerity we got from both Laycie and Mike when we needed help! Many thanks!"

  • Excellent stay, wonderful properity, clean, quiet, close to beach, great place!!

"I spent 8 wonderful days at Villa Koko!! Was in Hawaii for business and when I returned each day could look forward to a quiet relaxing peaceful spot for sure, and very close to the beach as well. Marshall was a great host and he also bakes a mean chocolate cake! This place is just the right size and furnished wonderfully, very quiet and relaxing. I will for sure return on my next trip to Hawaii. In addition only a short drive into Waikiki. Marshall has a super little dog named Tweed, he is a very friendly quiet little guy. Marshall makes you feel very comfortable and you arrive as a guest but leave acquiring a new friend in Marshall for sure. My wife says she must come on the next trip, we both are looking forward to it. Thanks again for a great stay. Bill Hubbard."

  • Lovely location

"This little Cottage By The Bay is perfect if you want to be surrounded by quiet and lush Hawaiian greenery with a quiet beach just steps away. It was very clean with all the amenities to make my stay very comfortable and I loved the walk-in closet. I enjoyed being away from Waikiki which can be frantic and noisy yet everything I needed was convenient and close-by - from Costco to Safeway and many little places to eat. Thank you, Ron, for being such a great host."

  • Very peaceful rental away from the crowds.

"We stayed here for our honeymoon in September. When we arrived it was fairly late at night so we appreciated the fresh fruit and food set out for us when we arrived, as we were very tired. The house is on the end of a street, so there was zero traffic noise. It backs onto a forest that has a hiking trail for the adventurous person and you can wake up to the sounds of the jungle birds singing to you. The house was well equipped with kitchen and bathroom supplies and the bedrooms were very large. The master bath was more recently renovated and the huge walk in shower was very nice at the end of the day. Air conditioning units were whisper quiet. The location of Hawaii Kai is great if you're looking to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. There are many fantastic restaurants within a couple minute drive, but if you'd like you can still be in Waikiki in 15 minutes as access to the H1 is very quick. It takes about 35 minutes or so to reach the pristine beaches on the windward side in Kailua and Lanikai. Locations such as Eternity Beach, Sandy Beach, and Makapu'u Point are a short ten minute drive. We didn't use the pool but found the water to be quite warm. Other than a short conversation to recommend restaurants we didn't hear or see the owners above at all, and we really enjoyed our privacy. They were kind enough to let us stay beyond our checkout time because we had a red eye flight and the weather wasn't great on our last day. Would definitely recommend this rental to people in the future and would love to come back ourselves. Mahalo!"
