"We were so fortunate to find this place. Our 2 older boys were staying my family in a large house nearby, but we wanted our own space and this was perfect for my husband, our 2 yr old and myself. We loved the wood stove and the views of the lake..especially while it was snowing. We would like to bring our older boys here during the summer season, when we can really enjoy the lake, dock, grill, and front porch."

  • Great Cottage!

"My family of six adults stayed here with our two dogs a few weeks ago. The house was very clean and there was plenty of space for us to spread out. The rental is off of the main road which felt much safer for when we had to cross the street to fish. The fenced in yard was great for the dogs.We spent most of our time outside during our visit and the private dock and fire pit really make this place perfect. Be sure to visit Swallow Falls state park while you are in Deep Creek. The hike was awesome with multiple waterfalls!"

  • Paradise in Deep Creek Lake

"It’s almost impossible to describe the transformation of one’s soul after spending a week at The Bird’s Nest! Ms. Polly felt like a friend long before I arrived and her peacefulness cannot help but to seep into your soul. DCL is a beautiful area that called me from past memories. It’s been 15 years since I’ve been here and I’ll promise myself this: it will not be that long before I again return. The state park is a wonderful place for a nature lover and her dog. Kayaking every day restores me. No alarm clock, no work, no worries. Swallow Falls is a great hike! I ate at Ace’s, Uno’s (w/my dog) and Cornish Manor. All were good! Went to Canoe on the Run but left w/o eating. The hot tub at the end of my day was just what these tired bones needed. What was the best part? Ms. Polly! She was a delight! She gave me lots of information, where to go and how to get there. Maggie was almost always at her side! I’ve made a friendship here! Take the kayak and paddle all the way down to the right as far as you can. If you are lucky you will see the bald eagle proudly showing who is boss! Lake swimming! Oh to this Carolina girl it was heaven!! Cool and refreshing – I came here looking for an answer – I didn’t find it, I found so much more. Thank you for sharing The Bird’s Nest! I will always remember you and my time here. I will keep you in my prayers! Jane & Bailey the Boxer"

  • Comfortable

"With five grandchildren 6 and under, it was nice to have swimming, golf and tennis nearby. Someone was always taking a nap, but the adults could slip out to do something and come right back. The little ones enjoyed the pool most of all. Thank you."
