  • Perfect Vineyard home

"We just returned from a week on the Vineyard. This was our second year in a row renting this home. The house is quaint and perfect for our family of 6 + a dog. We have 4 small kids and the house was perfect for us. The backyard allows for great outdoor fun with tons of yard to run freely and safely. The location is ideal and centrally located. Most importantly, the owner is available as needed, so welcome and easy going, but respects the privacy of a renting family. I would highly recommend this home for family's looking to enjoy the True experience of MV."

  • Comfortable Island Property

"Great house for a family. The house, which is nicely decorated with antique furniture and very well maintained, has an interesting history that includes stays by Marilyn Monroe, Arthur Miller and Saul Bellow. It has a furnished (including a farm table and chairs for dining) screened porch with skylights that runs the length of the side of the house. The porch opens onto a sizable partially fenced yard with grass and flower gardens surrounded by mature trees. The house is not air conditioned, but the porch has ceiling fans and the interior rooms have plenty of windows for ventilation and can, if necessary, be cooled by portable fans. The bedrooms are good sized, and the beds comfortable. There are two and 1/2 baths in the house. The half bath is downstairs off a bedroom; the two full baths are upstairs, both with tubs (but only one of them has a shower; you have to stand in the tub to use it). There is a spacious outdoor shower which we used regularly. The kitchen is small but efficient; it is very well equipped with modern appliances and ample cookware and dishes. The owner lives nearby and he and his wife greeted us on arrival. No doubt that they would be very responsive if there were any problems (we didn't have any). Property location is close (around a corner) to Alley's general store and a sandwich shop, next door to a church, across the street from a playground, and a block from the Grange Hall where events and outdoor markets regularly occur. Although there is daytime traffic on a major road about 1/2 block away that goes up-island, Music Street where the house is located is usually quiet. Both streets are virtually silent by late evening and overnight. This property would be suitable for cold weather stays since it has fireplaces and is furnished to make it the sort of place where you'd like to curl up with a good book (there are plenty to choose from throughout the house)."

  • A little gem

"This is a little gem of a house with such a welcoming feel. Tucked away in a private setting but a short drive to all the best MV has to offer. The house is so well stocked for dining in and all one needs for a day at the beach. The homeowners have thought of everything. Cozy, clean and comfortable. Felt right at home. Thank you Mark and Tess."

  • Comfortable family home

"We just returned from a lovely vacation at this comfortable and charming home! The island was busy for July 4th- this house was close enough to the action (fireworks, parades, ice cream!) to be convenient, but far enough to still be quiet when we needed a break. Walking distance to farmers market, playground, delicious bakery/sandwich shop, general store, galleries. Short drive to beaches, hikes, restaurants, etc. Excellent location! We were four adults, three kids, one baby, and one 40 lb dog and all felt very comfortable. Plenty of sleeping, playing, lounging, and eating space for us all. The house sits close to the road in front, but the large yard in the back feels very private and is perfect for kids and dogs. Clearly an old family home, which is part of the charm, but not lacking in modern amenities (well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, plenty of bathrooms, etc) and we were able to easily find everything we needed. George was a VERY helpful and attentive host. Highly recommend! Thank you!"
