  • Great house for my family.

"Great house for my family. Great layout all on one level, large yard and deck, convenient to all MV points. My 93 year old grandfather could get around the house easily. My kids could stay in their own section which was great for me sleeping late :) House had all that we needed."

  • luxurious house - great for families

"Book this house (if you can manage to get it!) We were two families with small children traveling together. The house has two large common spaces and very large separate bedrooms which each have their own bathroom. It feels very luxurious which was great since ,due to our small kiddos, we spent quite a bit of time at the house. The owner David was very responsive when we had an issue with the internet. Really love this house. Hoping to rent there next year."

  • Four Perfect Vineyard weeks

"We vacationed on the Vineyard for over 20 years. After selling our island home last year, we missed it terribly. I contacted Monica initially because I read that pets were "possible" and also because we love West Tisbury. I am so glad that we did. The home is magical. Since she uses it herself, the difference from an ordinary rental home is obvious. Lots of extra touches like Emeril, Le Creuset and Calphalon cookware. My husband and I love to cook and we had fun watching the food channel (in view in the living room from the kitchen prep counter) and trying new recipes. The counter is a large butcher block prep area that doubles as a breakfast bar. Monica even left her food processor for us to use. So many pretty little touches like Toile valences and bedcovers, down quilts, Ralph Lauren sheets and towels, lavender hand soap in the bathrooms. Things were not cheap or chintzy and we appreciated that very much. Since being on the Vineyard so many years, we share a concern for the local environment and also appreciated her leaving ecofriendly dish and laundry detergents in the house. We practically didn't have to bring anything. The outdoor furniture was as beautiful as the indoor furniture. Teak chaises, a love seat with comfortable cushions. Simple extras like that made us feel really at home. One of my absolute favorite rooms was the "sunroom." On rainy days, we would sit on the couch reading, looking out at the woods and gardens, listening to the rain. The room was so cozy and quiet, we felt like we were miles away from everything. Unlike further up-island, the shops are only 5-10 minutes away by car. The house feels really spacious and was easier for my husband since there are no stairs. I was worried when my adult children and grandchildren visited for a long weekend that we would feel crowded or bothered by the noise. We weren't at all. The floor plan seemed to work well for everyone. My grandchildren brought their bikes and loved the bike paths nearby that cross the island. We had one problem with the washing machine. I think my grandchildren overstuffed it or used to much soap. I called Monica and Roy came to fix it that afternoon. (We already knew Roy. He's terrific.) An added plus: Despite her hesitation, Monica allowed us to bring our golden, Benny, with us. Everyday, we took long walks along the country road and Lambert's Cove and visited the Scottish Bakehouse. We had such a relaxing time, we booked the month again for next year."

  • Relaxing Summer on the Vineyard!

"My family loves the Vineyard and we look forward to coming back every year. We've stayed at the Indian Hill house for the past six years and, it feels like home! The house has everything we need - nothing pretentious - just well appointed, casual and inviting. The kids (10 and 14) love to explore the property, visit the dog next door, and relax in the hammocks. We LOVE the semi-private beach! There have been times we've been the only ones there! It's a family competition each year who finds the most sea glass. When we do encounter people, they are warm and friendly. The location itself is perfect for us. West Tisbury is off the beaten path yet has so much to offer - MV Agricultural Society craft fair, annual fair, Cedar Tree Neck Sanctuary, Lambert's Cove, to name a few. Of course we make our trips into Edgartown, Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs for shopping, ice cream and fudge. But, we're just as content to hang at the house with a favorite book, play a family game, or relax on the beach. It's a great house to connect as a family. We're all looking forward to another lovely Vineyard summer."
