  • Perfect house for two active tweenagers & their grandparents

"My 13 y.o. grandson announced "this house is awesome" after a quick trip to every room and a walk outside. Later, he and my 11 y.o granddaughter would, usually after several hours of kayaking or being at the beach or pool, still have energy for the ping-pong table for 1-1.5 hours. My first loves were the 2 story LR/DR, the wide board floors, comfy LR chairs, and the well supplied kitchen. Later, I was impressed with how organized everything was, to wit, I never had to ask the owners a question about where to find something or how to make it work. The temps were warm outside during our stay but the house's beautiful cross breezes kept us comfortable. Very peaceful environment. My husband reads and is not into TV so he was very happy that the wireless headsets enabled us to sit in the same room at night while I watched netflix shows. I was impressed that the kids, who did have tablets with them as the house has wifi, never asked to watch the large screen TV as they could choose to get games on their tablets or play foosball, darts, or ping-pong. I enjoyed doing my water aerobics routine at the pool. Everything was easy at this house. Having the ferry tix included made it feel like an all inclusive vacation. We enjoyed Lambert's Cove Beach, Audubon's Marine Discovery Tour and their kayak tour, visiting the Trustees' Farm Institute and their Chappy lighthouse tour and kayak tour."

  • Beautiful Vacation Home - Perfect for 2 families!

"We stayed here Aug. 2016 with relatives (9 of us total) and all of us loved this house! It is beautifully decorated in a Cape Cod beach theme and has a lovely outside garden with lots of flowers. It was so peaceful just to sit out in the garden and relax! The house is very updated, clean and had comfortable beds! There are 2 sets of bunk beds in one room (not shown in pictures) that worked great for the kids! There were many beautiful renovations done recently in the bathrooms and a dining room and outside deck addition had been added. The house has A/C and a functional kitchen with enough dining seats inside and outside to accommodate a large group. It was great to rent a place that supplied all the sheets and bath towels as well as had beach chairs and an umbrella for use. Sometimes, mildew /mold can be an issue on the island due to the damp sea air and there was NONE of it here. WiFi worked seamlessly and was most reliable which was definitely needed as a few of us had to work some long hours over vacation. Also, there never was any issue with 9 people being logged in to the home wifi with multiple devices. It was nice there was a land-line to take calls for work, that said, cell service was strong at the house. While this house, isn't on the beach or in a city center with restaurants in walking distance, we loved the central location as we went to different beaches and areas of the island each day. We biked to Long Point beach from the house (not far, but a dirt path for some of it), crossed the street and used the biking / running path frequently and one day biked all the way to Menemsha beach from the house (~13 miles). For those that like to work out, my husband joined a nearby gym and could run to it from the house, workout and then run back. The house is on the end of a cul-de-sac which is nice for the kids when playing / biking outside in the street. The owner was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. She was responsive to all of our communications in a timely manner and made everything easy for us. We would definitely rent this house again next time we visit Martha's Vineyard. I highly recommend the property!"

  • Beautiful, quiet, convenient to best beach!

"We have stayed at the wonderful guest house for the past three years and we love it! Nicely laid out, comfortable, quiet and quick drive to a wonderful beach at Lambert's Cove. A very nice deck off the open concept living dining area, perfect for lingering over coffee or a sunny lunch. Also very convenient to good restaurants throughout the island. Highly recommended!"

  • Any concerns washed away the moment we arrived! Truly a gem we want to keep secret :)

"We first planned to stay for 2 weeks, but we had cold feet and eventually decided on just 1 week. For preparations, we purchased battery operated everything - but it was all for 'naught! The owners have been coming here for years and have thought of every detail you can imagine! Felicity makes sure to speak to each renter before committing, explaining the near outhouse bathroom (not nearly as bad as it might sound, though admittedly easier for men then women!) , use of handpump for water ( we had to use bottled water for drinking, provided by the owners) , and to make sure renters have a vehicle sufficient to make the long trek down dirt roads (our Subaru Outback was fine). We chose to sleep in the separate bedroom, but there are also 2 twin rooms, as well as 2 day beds in the main room.( the 2 rooms with a twin bed each was not clear to me from the original description. My husband and I each took one as our own for our belongings). We had beautiful sunsets every single night! One thing I would recommend is to bring your own water shoes (the extras in the shed were mostly men's large it seems). The beach is BEAUTIFUL for walking, kayaking, and sitting, but the bottom is more mucky than sand. This is not the place for people who plan to be out partying on Circuit Ave every night. But if you want a beautiful, private location to get away, do art or writing, walking and boating, this is ideal. We definitely hope to come back next summer. For two weeks this time."
