Amazing wedding weekend

We had the best stay at Colin’s property! We spent a few days enjoying the house before our wedding weekend. Each guest at the wedding couldn’t believe the beauty of the property. The house has everything you could need for your stay. Colin was timely in his communication and was quick to fix any issues. We would 100% recommend staying here!

What an incredible find! The house was perfect for our group of family and friends. Plenty of space for everyone inside and out. The master bedroom and ensuite bath was on the first floor which was perfect for the parents. Great swing and hammock. Even an outdoor shower- we didn't get to try it out but it's a nice add! Plenty of games and puzzles. The location was exactly what we were looking for, close to hiking and biking trails and very private. It's about 10 minutes or so to town but the large backyard patio and BBQ was worth it. We watched the deer at dusk and enjoyed the quiet. Colin is an excellent host. He responded quickly to questions prior to and during our stay, and provided helpful area information and recommendations. One of the best stays we've experienced. We'll definitely be returning!

We had an amazing stay at Turtle Pond Farm! The property is very secluded, adjacent to Blackwater Pond Preserve with easy access to hiking trails. It's a short drive to beautiful Lambert's Cove Beach (a stay allows you to purchase a beach pass, needed in summer), grocery stores, farm stands, and a great seafood market. Our group of ten was very comfortable and took full advantage of the outdoor shower and the fully euipped guest cottage on the property. The home is beautifully designed and appointed with the feel of a private home rather than a cheaply thrown together rental unit. We cooked every day and found the kitchen to be well-stocked. There were plenty of beach towels and chairs. The outdoor grill worked great. Would definitiely stay again. Thanks Colin!

Lovely Family Getaway

We enjoyed cooking breakfast every morning, taking long walks on the beautiful trails on the huge area of land surrounding the house & enjoying dinner either at a nearby restaurant (all were wonderful) or staying in and cooking. Truly restful & relaxing. The house & property were beautiful. We would love to stay here again.

Perfect family week

The house offered plenty of room for our group of eight. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was perfect and well stocked with pots, cutting boards and everything you could think of. The grounds were beautiful. We used the fire pit a couple of nights and it was quiet and pleasant. The beds were comfortable and everything was provided.

'Colin Whyte, President of Martha's Vineyard Construction, left his happy childhood home near Biscayne Bay, FL to start a wonderful and varied journey that would one day lead him to sailboat summers, Martha’s Vineyard mansions and a company built from fortitude and perseverance. “I had enough support and stability at home that I could just go. I never knew that when I left home at age 16, I’d never be back again.” Choosing to go to an all boys boarding school in Tennessee, McCallie School taught hard lessons of discipline and survival. It was there that Colin made life-long friends and began to desire the mysteries that life and experience had to offer.

In hope of avoiding a sojourn in Vietnam Colin took off on his motorcycle, partnered with friends, and threw himself into education and small-time enterprises. Self-taught, he learned how to run a successful business from varied jaunts including: house moving, dictionary selling, surfboard renting, interning in the Senate, and—finally, construction clean up. Graduating from Brown University with a liberal arts degree led him to a winter at Law School, and a stint back at Brown Graduate School in art. “Applying to schools, I was really just a kid trying to stay out of Vietnam; little did I know, it was the motorcycle that would save me. A serious accident taught me the power of the motorcycle. My back was handed a lesson and Martha’s Vineyard became my home.”'
