  • Awesome West Island cottage!

"This cottage was great. Had everything we needed. Very comfortable and cozy. Would definitely stay again. Great location and surprisingly enough, the weather cooperated. We had a fabulous two week stay."

  • Wonderful beach escape

"Eventide is beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated in a perfect "seaside cottage" style. VERY clean and a lot more space than you would think seeing the house from the outside. It's located in a nice, quiet neighborhood and during our visit (late March) we had a view of the bay from the back porch. The hosts are extremely responsive and have provided everything you will need to enjoy a wonderful vacation. We will be back!"

  • Unique find.

"Familiar with the Cape, I had never stayed on Buzzard's Bay. Finding West Island, and this gem of a house was a pleasant surprise. The Island is small with half devoted to a preserve along the eastern shore. The rest is entirely residential but for the tiny and very convenient market around the corner from Blue Moon. Such close proximity to a friendly shop with everything from wine to kayak, paddleboard and bike rentals made the rental even more perfect. Out back of the market is a food truck that sells, THE best clam strips I've every had. The island is very quiet and the water, whether you stroll a couple of blocks to the interior bay area or head to the end of the island to the public beach, is warm and calm. 40 minutes to Newport, 40 minutes to Providence and a bit more than an hour to Nauset beach on the Cape make this property perfectly situated. Others have described Blue Moon accurately and the photos are indeed representative of the thoughtful renovation and interior design. I would only add that the attention to detail was remarkable. Every spice imaginable in order to prepare a nice meal, every manner of utensil and even the lighting in the kitchen made cooking pleasureable. The outdoor and deck furniture are my favorite wrought iron rocking design with cushions that will make you question why should get up and out and see the area. The back shed was roomy enough to store my bike out of the rain, and the fenced-in yard allowed my Golden to run around the yard safely. Finally, having central air was a life saver for me. During my two plus weeks visit there were many high 90 days with max humidity. How lovely to pop in from the outdoor shower and bury myself in a book in the cool living room. Highly recommend this rental, but hope it doesn't become so popular I have to arm wrestle someone to return next year!"

  • charming cottage with water views

"My mother and I greatly enjoyed a relaxing week at the cottage, which is decorated charmingly with the owner's painting and seaside knickknacks. We spent a good amount of time just reading on the enclosed porch and the upstairs deck. When we went to the beach, we did find that that local beaches were a little shallow at low tide, and a beach half hour's drive away, Horseneck Beach, had much better swimming. If we could've brought bikes it would have been a lovely place to do some leisurely biking to town and to local beaches. All in all, a great little getaway."
