  • The property was exactly what we wanted and exactly as advertized.

"We were very happy with everything about our stay. This was our first experience with VRBO and we will certainly do it again. We might have been helped by knowing that the kitchen was so well stocked with appliances, silver, serving utensils, etc, so we wouldn't have brought our own!"

  • One week stay

"This is our second time staying at the property, and again we were not disappointed. The property is very clean and modern. Everything we needed was there. The area has very nice beaches and lots of great restaurants. We are looking forward to another stay there in the future."

  • A Pleasant surprise!

"This would have been a 5 instead of a 4 but for a few corrections. The property is 5 miles from Fairhaven shopping but there is a convenience store on West Island that has the necessities as well as bike and board rental at similar prices as on the mainland. West Island is a great walkable community. We were less than 100 yards from the Atlantic and half a mile from the public beach that faces Buzzards Bay. We were 12 minutes from New Bedford and its must- see Whaling museum. Excellent restaurants are within 30 minutes. Cape Cod is about 35 minutes away, Boston +/- an hour. The New Bedford fast ferry to Martha's Vineyard took about an hour. The kids loved it! You can take public transport while on the Vineyard or rent a vehicle. Don't miss seeing this island! The house was ample for our party of 6 adults and 2 children. It was very clean with great linens provided. The guest cottage was cozy with nice mattresses but in need of window blinds and a dresser/wardrobe. The main problem was the door to the cottage. One door was shattered but in place and the other was rotted on the bottom. The entire unit should be replaced. We were told when we first arrived that someone would be out to replace the shattered door; no one came for the 10 days of our stay. This needs to be fixed ASAP for both safety and security reasons. The main bathroom advertises a shower. It is a tub with a hand- held portable shower head but lacks a shower rod and curtain. We doubled up using the master bedroom's awesome shower. The outdoor shower is very nice. The bedrooms need dressers as we lived out of suitcases except in the master where we used closet shelves. The kitchen with Viking stove and two dishwashers was wonderful! It has great counter space and all necessary utensils, cookware and dishes. There is ample seating at the dining table with more folding chairs available. The living room could use another sofa as presently there is a sofa, chair, and wooden rocker. Needs more soft seating! The large capacity washer/dryer was superb; a must-have for family vacations. We loved the fire pit in the front yard. The entire property was professionally landscaped with wonderful outdoor living areas, gas grill and fenced in yard. Two negatives: 1) the requirement to launder and replace all linens prior to check-out would have been impossible except for the fact we left in stages. 2) owners should provide seasonal beach pass! We would return!"

  • We had a wonderful time at this cottage.

"We stayed a week here. The accommodations are nicely appointed. Plenty of room in the common areas. The bathroom is lovely clean, and well done. There is plenty of storage in the bedrooms, and any kitchen item you could possibly need. The back yard has a good fire pit and a great outdoor shower. The grill is high end and very easy to use. One of the best features is the screened porch. Great place to hang out or watch a storm go by. Two beaches are in close walking distance and the town beach is beautiful. It was generally very relaxing and felt like island life while we were here . Even though it was just the two of us, this would be a great location for a young family. We look forward to going back next summer."
