  • Beautiful slice of Lake Michigan pie.

"Our 3 generation (ages 20 to 90) family vacation was enjoyed by all. I loved rock hounding on the beach. We walked the shoreline, sunned and read at the shore. We were all lulled by the sound of the surf. Everyone enjoyed the beach fires and star gazing. Spotting the eagles that nest around the point was a highlight. One evening my husband and I were lucky enough to see a fox trotting down the beach; we watched it until it disappeared around the point. Other reviews talked about swimming so I'll weigh in as well. If you wear river shoes or an old pair of sneakers you can walk out to where you're able to swim. Using a boogie board to get you out to where it's deep enough to swim also works. The water is fairly shallow; I swam quite a way out but it was never over my head. If you "play" in the water as opposed to swimming, the rocks might be a problem. There are 2 local township or county beaches that were nice alternatives. (I personally loved the rocks, but I do like rock hounding....). The cottage was comfortable and spacious. Having a dishwasher and a washer and dryer was a bonus. The real feature for this cottage is the beautiful Lake Michigan location. It's quiet, beautiful, and relaxing. The property as well as the surrounding villages of Good Hart and Cross Village facilitate "down time." I look forward to a return visit."

  • Beautiful home

"What a beauty. Amazing view of the lake from the back, but a quiet, wooded area from the front full of chipmunks, deer and squirrels. Home is large with two comfortably furnished family areas, nicely stocked kitchen with newer appliances. Not a lot of steps to the lake. We loved the tidepool like area between the lake and the house. Our 20 month old grandson loved it, since it has no waves and most of it was shallow enough for him to wade around. The beds were comfortable and the home was very clean. We appreciated having stocked seasonings, coffee filters, beach towels, soap. Made packing and planning a breeze. They also provide dog towels , bowls which is certainly a bonus. We had no complaints. The owner is very organized and sends a nice packet with all information needed. Even a list of DVD's, maps. We saw no one else on the beach while we were there and the weather in early Sept was perfect. There are rocks on the beach, but we had no difficulty walking, and the little one loved throwing them into the lake. Highly recommend."

  • Wonderful Getaway Week

"For the past four years we have taken our granddaughters on a vacation up north. This year we chose to stay at this cottage right on Lake Michigan. We had a wonderful time. The girls could swim right out in front of the cottage, build a sandcastle village, and play lots of games at night. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. We found lots of things to do in the area. We especially liked the Three Pines Studio, the Old World Cafe, and the crepes at Good Hart. When we asked the girls if they wanted to come back here next summer, they each answered immediately with a big smile and an enthusiastic "Yes!" Thank you Diane!"
