  • Great house!

"I recently spent a week at the Glenn house and it was wonderful. It's hard to believe, but the house was even better than the pictures. The house is impeccably clean, decorated beautifully, and has a great layout. Loved the screened in porch, back deck, and outdoor shower. The owner has thought of everything from beach chairs to wine glasses. An easy drive to Saugatauk & South Haven. Both cities have great beaches, restaurants, & shops. The house is good for 3 couples, each bedroom has it's own bathroom."

  • Great Family Getaway

"Our family including 10 people ages 9-50 had a wonderful time at the Cottage and in Saugatauk. The location was perfect to access the public beach and to enjoy ice cream nightly in town. The accommodations allowed plenty of room for our family to gather for family meals on the wrap around porch or to break off for some private time. Our teenagers/young adults loved having the hot tub to relax in during the evenings after we would watch the sunset on the beach. The kitchen was well stocked. The gas grill was perfect for preparing our freshly caught fish. Our only 2 disappointments were lack of wash cloths and the small size of the shower in the Acorn Cabin. The stairs were numerous and steep which did not prove to be a challenge for our family members who were on this vacation but would be a consideration if older family members were to join us in the future. Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend your home to future vacationing families."

  • Comfortable as home

"The Orchard Beach House is perfect for people of all ages. The large back yard was great for the granddaughter's, BBQs, and camp fires. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped, making life as convienient as home. Westside park and beach are steps away. We have been vacationing in Saugatuck and Douglas for many years, but the Orchard Beach House has provided our most comfortable visit. Two thumbs up."

  • Perfect House & Location

"Our family of 4 kids and 2 adults and dog thoroughly enjoyed our week at Butternut Pines! The house itself and everything in it was very comfortable and high quality. Mattresses (very important!) and linens outstanding. Beautiful view of forest from literally every window in the house. Love the open main floor. Even when working in the (very nice) kitchen, you could enjoy the view. Saw deer several times in woods off back patio. Great outdoor shower for getting sand off. Hot tub very nice. Loved how you can open up the main floor to the screened porch to make it one big space....very cool! We loved that when you were at the house you felt secluded and serene surrounded by the beautiful pines but you could quickly walk around the corner to a fabulous Lakeshore drive for a scenic walk or down 50 stairs to a beautiful beach for swimming/walking. We enjoyed many sunsets there. Just down the road by car is a small but nice beach (5 min. drive) with 10 parking spots. 2 minutes farther and you get a fabulous county park with a great beach. Free ample parking there, 2 bathroom facilities, nice playground, lots of green space, and a very nice stairway and full ramp for beach access. We also drove 20 minutes away to Holland for a fun bike ride and then play at Tunnel Park beach which is an all-sand beach with a long shallow (thus warmer) lake floor before the it drops deeper...perfect for kids. Saugatuck is a great in-town excursion. Go shopping and then order a fried chicken bucket dinner from the Southerner to take home for the beach/sunset. Loved the cinnamon/sticky rolls at Pumpernickels. And always a visit to Cranes for pie. We've stayed at 3 different houses in the area over the years and I always do a ton of research, but next time Butternut Pines will be my first choice before going anywhere else. This house was very well thought out for a great vacation experience when it was built and has been maintained well. When I had to contact the owner with a question, he was very kind and helpful and made himself available if any other questions came up. I would love to come in the other seasons; I imagine fall or winter views from the house would be amazing. Thanks Butternut Pines for a truly wonderful vacation!"
