  • Great house and great location!

"We stayed at this fabulous house over Labor Day weekend with 3 other couples from Chicago. Looks exactly like the pictures. The house was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was stocked with pots/pans/coffee maker etc. We loved the hot tub, the front porch, the fire pit, and the game room downstairs. We didn't spend anytime at Goshen Lake. We took a great walk into Saugatuck and stopped at the Southener for brunch and dinner. There is only room for 2 cars which was not really a hassle because we could walk to town or take one of the other cars. There is so much to do in this area, biking, kayaking, shopping, eating and the dune buggy rides are just around the corner. The neighbors are friendly and the area is very quiet. The houses are close to each other, but not an issue at all. Corresponding with the owner was easy. Very responsive. We will be back."

  • Jewel in the Crown of Saugatuck

"My husband and I needed to get away from Chicago for a week vacation before fall set in. We fell in love with this place. The wrap-around front porch with colorful Adirondack-style rocking chairs (great for morning coffee with the birds and squirrels), the screened porch, which doubled as an outdoor living room, the parlor and living area, the tastefully appointed and decorated kitchen, the simple, charming bedrooms, decorated with handmade quilts, the fact that there was a laundry in the basement which we could use after a day at the beach -- all made us happy, content and peaceful. But the beauty and history of this house with the great selection of books about Oxbow Summer School of Art and Saugatuck history, and the wonderful framed photos and maps of Saugatuck, Oxbow and Douglas made the house feel drenched in memory and love. Beautiful paintings of Saugatuck land and beach-scapes are hung throughout the house, along with tapestries of Oxbow and Saugatuck buildings. Adding to the sense of history and place are old weathered signs hung thoughtfully throughout the ground area as well, one sign which states "Oval Beach", in another spot, inscribed above a doorway are the words on a plaque “Bunky’s Room.” The lawn around the building, the grape arbor in the backyard, the stately trees which surround the house, the library, the antique oriental rugs, the sense of family all conspire to bring beauty, charm, memories and love alive. And if all that beauty and charm is not enough, you are minutes walking distance from everything in town. A perfect get away, and a jewel of a place! We plan to return!"

  • Beautiful home and property with lots of extras

"This a beautiful home!. Because of the large living room picture windows, the lakefront and woodland vistas felt like they were part of the indoor decor. The owners stay in touch and are very responsive. The pool room is a great alternative space for different individuals in your party. Also very organized provisions and directions on how to operate things. Seasonal caution: We were there the second week in September and there were pesky black biting flies"

  • Terrific Home & Location

"We enjoyed this terrific home and location when we stayed there for an extended weekend with three other families. Our group consisted of 8 adults and 8 children; a total of 16 people. The home accommodated all of us comfortably with plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and communal rooms where we could gather as a whole group or where where the adults and children could be together separately. For example, the adults could sit in and around the hot tub or around the dining room table while the children could take advantage of all the electronic and non-electronic (ping pong, etc.) in the lower level game room. The home had everything we needed to make ourselves home; stay entertained and cook for large groups of people. The home is in very good condition and clean. The property is in a fantastic location - it seems secluded in the woods yet it's only a few steps from the beach and minutes from downtown Saugatuk. Overall, we had a fantastic time during our long weekend and most of that was contributed to us having this wonderful, fully-equipped property as our home base for the weekend. This is a property I would actively seek out again to book when I return to the area."
