"This place had everything we needed in a vacation rental. It has plenty of space, all the indoor necessities, a beautiful in-ground pool and patio area, large fenced in yard for pets, and a great location to get to and from the beach area and main highways. On top of that, it is beautiful and well-maintained inside and has DirecTV and AT&T Wifi for rainy days. There is only one bathroom, and the tub is very high to get into with no railing to use. That was an issue with us because we had some seniors with us, but we still made it work. There is a Wal-Mart just a couple miles from this location, which was very convenient.
The area was good. The beaches and ocean, as you've seen in other reviews, is kind of nasty-looking. You have to go out pretty far to actually get deep in the water, and the sand/silt makes the water brown. Our kids (8 & 12) loved it, though, because they would rather look for sea creatures than swim. We found tons of shrimp, fish, and hermit crabs to examine, as well as plenty of shells. I liked the lack of crowds on the beach. We also spent time up in Gulfport and Biloxi for activities. The kids really liked going on a shrimp boat and seeing them catch & release a net full of animals. That was made better by a couple of dolphins that swam along side the boat for a while. Of course, there were many great seafood restaurants up Ocean Blvd. We had a very memorable meal at the Half-Shell Oyster House in Gulfport.
Overall, a great vacation at a great location."
