  • A True Montana Experience - convenient to Glacier NP

"The StoneHouse was perfect. Some of us have been coming to Montana/GNP since the 90's and have rented properties and stayed in and around the park, so we are well familiar with the area and the lodging options available. We actually learned of The StoneHouse from David when he was still performing at Many Glacier Hotel. We've been meaning to rent the property to see what it was like and we finally pulled the trigger this year. After the fact, we only wished we had stayed longer. The property is conveniently located to one of our favorite parts of the park (Many Glacier), without having to stay in the park and deal with the crowds and the crappy food at the lodges. Many Glacier has some of the best hiking and wildlife opportunities in the park. Turns out we didn't even have to leave the StoneHouse for wildlife opportunities. We saw black bears and deer right from the house and we spent an afternoon at the lake watching birds. We saw Pelicans, Black Terns, a Goldeneye mother and ducklings, Cedar Waxwings and others. I think our favorite part of the day was just waking up, making a pot of coffee and sitting at the table looking out over the wildflowers in the front yard to see the spectacular views of Glacier NP and Chief Mountain. Thank you to David for allowing us to stay at the StoneHouse and making sure we had everything we needed. We almost considered a hostile takeover and refusing to leave! We hope to be back as soon as possible."

  • What a lovely time we had at the duck Lake home. We would definitely stay there again.

"We certainly enjoyed our stay at the Duck Lake home. Irene was very helpful and the home was well stocked. The bowl of fruit was such a welcome addition when we arrived and we all enjoyed it. Irene even brought us over more firewood so we could have another bonfire! The sunsets over chief mountain and the sunrises over Duck Lake were spectacular! The water was not an issue as we could refill the jugs of water at the St. Mary's visitor center. We were close to the St. Mary's entrance, the Many Glacier entrance, and Waterton national park so that was a real plus! Our grandkids loved to throw rocks into the lake and some neighborhood dogs came over and played with them which they loved. We definitely recommend staying here."

  • Peaceful Place to Relax after a Day in Glacier

"We spent a couple of nights here during the last portion of our trip to Glacier National Park. We picked the property because of it's location to the Many Glacier entrance to the park. As advertised it is just minutes away from the park. Gene & Terry were a great host and hostess. We found the property to be very peaceful, especially in the evening after hiking in the park all day. The view of the mountains was wonderful."

  • Great set up

"We had a blast at Erin and Abe's Duck Lake cabin. It was a nice drive to GNP each day and had plenty of space for our group. We cooked in each night and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet aspects of the cabin. Erin was extremely helpful with suggestions for places to go and hikes, which is much appreciated. Hopefully we'll be back one day!"
