  • Spectacular view and great host!

"I cannot say enough about how generous Irene is! She went above and beyond on hospitality front! We know about the iron in the water (we are well informed by Irene and other reviewers) so it is not a problem for us. The view itself, makes everything else trivial, if the hospitality itself is not sufficient to make up for the water. :) The house is right by Duke Lake. I don't think there is street number associated with the house, but Irene's direction was very clear. We arrived with full car load of grocery and was in awe when we walk into the foyer. The view through the back door from the kitchen made us speechless! I could sit on the deck all day and be happy! As a matter of fact, that's what my sister did on one of the raining days. Instead of hiking in the rain (the rest of us who are willing or being talked into hiking), she enjoyed the beautiful lake from the comfort of the house. There are so many birds flying across right in front of her. My daughter said she can move in there permanently and I'm right behind her. :) We sure will contact Irene when we come back to Glacier in the future. Thank you Irene. Cindy"

  • EXACTLY What we were looking for !!

"Erin, we really enjoyed the stay at you Duck House. The house had a great feel to it. Perfect for 5 guys hiking E. Glacier for 3 days, and having a short drive back to a roomy, neat, clean cabin that was exactly as shown. The location was perfect for old friends yucking it up, and not bothering anyone else. Everyone was impressed with the property. We take a yearly trip, and there are a lot of places to see, but you might be seeing us again. Thanks, John B."

  • BEAUTIFUL HOME IN REMOTE SETTING WITH GORGEOUS MOUNTAIN VIEWS

"David was very easy to work with. The home is centrally located on the east side of Glacier Park. You are within 10-15 minutes of both the Many Glacier and St. Mary entrances. For those unfamiliar with the geography, the east side of the mountains is more arid and sparsely populated compared to the west side. We stayed on both sides and enjoyed more sunshine in this location. Although this home is located on the lake most of the view is blocked by trees, but there is a walkway and chairs down by the lake. The view of the mountains from the dining room is spectacular. We enjoyed watching the clouds roll in from the west and the free roaming horses saunter by the house daily. If you are a bird enthusiast, you will see and hear several species right from the window. We saw several deer as well. Be prepared for the lake area and the Blackfeet Reservation to be rustic and not a high end resort-tourist area. The gravel road leading to the property is quite the off-road experience, but ultimately will be one of the memories that brings a smile to our faces as we think of the family members in the back seat getting bounced around. The home itself is solid with quality furnishings and decor. The beds were comfortable. One of my favorite memories will be looking at the house as from a distance with the wood log fence surrounding it. Quite a beautiful change from our tropical Florida surroundings. Overall, I highly recommend The Stone House as the perfect place to enjoy Glacier National Park."

  • Perfect

"Cheryl and Lew, Thank you so much for a perfect stay at Glacier National Park. We loved the location of the cabin and availability to East Glacier hiking. Many Glacier is our favorite. The Cabin was fully furnished with all kitchen supplies (we cooked inside the cabin most of our stay for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and the rooms & bedding made our stay very comfortable. The size of your cabin allowed our parents and children to spread out and enjoy themselves. Your hospitality was excellent and we appreciated the personal tour of the cabin and area upon our arrival. We highly recommend this location for a Montana get a way. However, like previous reviewers - would love to keep this best kept secret to ourselves!! Thanks for sharing your home. We can't wait to come back. Sincerely, Carrisa and Jason Scott & LeeAnn and John McCoy"
