  • Home away from home

"Our family has vacationed in Harvey Cedars many times and we love it. It's everyone's favorite trip and we used to find ourselves wishing we had our own beach house - until we stayed here. We are repeat renters at Sea La Vie and we really feel like it is our beach house when we are there. It is unlike any other rental. It's beautifully decorated, charming and so comfortable and it has everything you could possibly need or want. The location is unbeatable, beach side and only one block from the bay with amazing sunsets, across the street from Black Eyed Susan's (best restaurant on the island) and a quick walk to the other restaurants and shops. The beach is quite and has life guards and is extra fun when you bring along the boogie boards and beach toys from the shed! My son has spent countless hours on their skim board. Even if it rains the day is not lost because there are puzzles and games to play on the big wood table, a comfy couch with pillows and blankets next to a table full of great books and a wonderful porch for just relaxing. This home is well cared for with attention to every detail. We can hardly wait to go back next summer!"

  • Wonderful

"This place was just perfect. The home had everything you would ever need on vacation. Much thought went into making this place so very comfortable. Homeowner is fabulous. Our family of 7 adults and grandchildren felt right at home and had a terrific vacation. Four houses from the beach you couldn't ask for more. I am so happy to have found it and cannot wait til next year to do it again."

  • Roomy, clean, steps to the beach & town.

"I was pleasantly surprised on how roomy & bright the house was. The owner was very nice & helpful. Upon arrival the house was spotless, it smelled & looked great. There was a new Sandpaper & an information packet on where to eat and things to do. There was 9 of us total & everyone had their own room & bed. There's even a bonus room downstairs where the kids hung out, watched movies and played games while the adults prepared some of the best meals in the fully stocked kitchen. Chairs & umbrellas were provided to the guarded beach just steps from the house. It was great easy access when the little ones had to use the potty. And we didn't even have to go into the house with our sandy toes. There's an outdoor shower & bathroom ground level. Across the street 2 blocks down is a guarded bay beach. Our kids loved it because there wasn't any big waves, the ice cream truck came every 20 minutes & there's even bathrooms there. (Note, go left on the bay beach, there's a perfect shady spot covered by the trees) We rented bikes & biked into town everyday. Either it was for breakfast sandwiches, pizza, great seafood @Harvey Cedars Seafood restaurant, an adults only wonderful dining @Black Eyed Susan's, a night cap at the Plantation with live music or ice cream. This house is great for larger families! 'll definitely be back next year!"

  • A Real Stand-Out!

"We had the most enjoyable vacation at this house. Our girls are ages 6 and 3 and this house was ideal for our family in so many ways. We knew the location would be great for the beach and other activities in walking distance, and the house looked very nice as listed, but we had no idea how many unique extras Cathy had put in. We have been renting on the island for years and this is by far the most welcoming, well kept-up, beautifully decorated, & thoughtful home we’ve been in. There were so many things we have rarely come across in a rental that made this home a real stand-out. All the furniture & linens were soft & cozy. The oversize reading chair in the den and the porch couch were especially inviting, and the king sized bed was great for parents with kids still climbing into their bed in the middle of the night. The closets had ample hangers, over-the-door hooks, and extra baskets for storage. The kitchen was stocked with all the basic gear needed to cook regularly, including bonus surprises like a Brita water filter, tea kettle & expresso maker, paper goods & plastic wear, and more nifty storage baskets. The house was also well equipped with entertainment for rainy days or down-time. There was an extra TV on the porch (very useful for parents who don’t always want to watch Nick Jr), a whole-home stereo system, DVDs, and games, all complete with very detailed how-to instructions. There was a house set of beach badges, which used to be common years ago but has become a rarity, and even more wonderful was the garage stocked with beach chairs and other beach fun gear. This was literally the most home-away-from-home vacation we’ve had, and one we hope to repeat in the coming years."
