  • Peaceful and Relaxing

"Our second visit to Shining Sun Casita was as wonderful as our first, last November. Just as advertised, all the amenities are taken care of - bedroom with a comfortable queen bed and dressers/chests to unpack you luggage, a large closet to store extra items, cozy bathroom with a wonderful shower, and a kitchen stocked with all the basic equipment for a home-cooked meal. As it was just the two of us, we had no need for the linens provided for the living room futon-sofa, but we both felt it was comfortable the night we opened it up to lounge while watching a movie. Although we spent most of our time hiking and sightseeing in and around Santa Fe, the TV with DirecTV service was enjoyable when we wanted to laze away a few hours in the evening. There was no need for the wood stove to heat the casita in May, but firewood was provided in case things turned cool. The great cottonwood tree just outside the casita provided cooling shade for porch sitting. And our dog loved all the smells and sounds of the barnyard just beyond the casita. All in all, this is a fantastic place to make your home base while exploring Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Bandelier National Monument, the Sangre de Cristos Mountains, Santa Fe National Forest, and points beyond. On this visit, we took in all of the above, as well as Fort Union National Monument. There is no shortage of great places to eat, but be prepared to drive to get there. And if you like to try your luck, there are numerous tribe-operated casinos nearby."

  • Beautiful, convenient, comfortable accommodation in Santa Fe!

"My family of 4 stayed in this casita in mid August for 5 days. The home is decorated beautifully in Santa Fe style, and the bedrooms are generous and very comfortable. There was a small issue from the monsoons (heavy rains), but Sam, the caretaker, was very available and helpful with this and with whatever we needed during our stay. We all really enjoyed the outdoor all-wood private hot tub as well. Located minutes (walking) from delicious restaurants and top-rate galleries, this home is a winner. Also, the owner of the property was very prompt at responding to email inquiries, as well as in returning the security deposit. We would definitely book here again!"

"We stayed here for 3 1/2 months this winter and even though El Nino brought lots of snow the casita was always warm and cozy, radiant heated floors and adobe do the trick! The neighborhood is quiet, real Santa Fe, and near enough to the center of town and Museum Hill. The kitchen is open and large, easy for two to share cooking duties. Nice fireplace, fun design. Great washer and dryer, very new. Closet is more than adequate. Nancy attends to any problems/concerns right away, yet she never intrudes on your privacy. Final note, her two dogs are very friendly and fun to have around."

  • Just Like Home In Santa Fe

"My wife and I spent 10 days in late September at Casa Buena Vida and loved every minute of our stay. The home is located in a quite neighborhood, was comfortable and furnished very nicely. We enjoyed the outdoor seating in the backyard and the private hiking trails were great and we took numerous walks late in the day with sunset views of the mountains west of Santa Fe. We are returning in 2016 for a full month."
