  • Wonderful family vacation

"Our family had a wonderful time at this spacious and well-maintained home on Lake Champlain. The views from the house are amazing. We watched the sun rise and set from various locations in the house or outside. We launched our lounger from the dock. The children fished and the adults relaxed, often in the hammock! The thoughtful details that have been put into this rental made our stay a pleasure. Everything from beach towels, children's toys, band aids to DVDs, books of all kinds made it a comfy spot to relax and play for a week. All the adults went to Montreal for a day taking turns watching the four children and two dogs that we had with us. The children were delighted with swimming, lawn games, playing in the loft and just having fun. Bring water shoes and bug spray. Water shoes since the beach is a bit rocky and bug spray because it is summertime. Eat out on the deck every evening and catch the Lippizaners show at Knight's Point Park if they are on the islands for the summer. Lovely vacation that our family will remember for years to come. Thank you for accommodating our family."

  • The perfect lake house

"The house and the stay exceeded expectations. Our first family vacation was a memorable one in this little slice of heaven. The house was spotless, updated and well stocked. I woke up everyday to watch the breathtaking sunrise and the overall scenery with views of the Green Mountains in the background. Even when it rained one night we had plenty to do with the games and dart board in the house. We brought our 1.5 year old and he had a blast - this is the perfect house to bring kids to, but yet perfect for adults too. The private sandy beach and sand toys, kayaks, stand up paddle board made the stay even more perfect. The owners were super nice and did a wonderful job making sure we had the perfect stay. We already can't wait to go back!"

  • Outstanding and exceptional experience

"Savage island is like no other vacaion rental. Not only is the house stunning and the scenery marvelous but the quality of lodging also exceeded our expectations. The 207 acre island offers uncompromising levels of natural beauty and exploration like no other, one could spend weeks exploring the beaches along the shore, trails throughout the woods and waters surrounding the island. Wayne, the caretaker is extremely accommodating and caters to your needs at a moments notice. Make sure to pack plenty of ice and fresh water for your stay along with your food. Other than bear essentials not much else is needed to have a spectacular time. We certainly plan on going back in the near future and would highly reccomend Savage Island to anyone who prefers a unique and memorable vacation experience."

  • Great family retreat

"Staying at the lake house was a great experience from start to finish. The owners are easy to work with and made the entire process seamless. The house is one of the nicest home rentals we've ever stayed at over the years - very clean and well appointed. It's a totally welcoming, comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The location is somewhat secluded and very peaceful with a spectacular view that can be enjoyed from most of the house. Fishing off the dock and kayaking/canoeing were a lot of fun...as was the fire pit and yard games. Great BBQ area and kitchen made cooking easy and fun to enjoy with family. Many areas to gather with family both outdoors and inside as well - the giant dining table was used many nights for games. We also visited the Ausable Chasm about 40 mins away - a fun day trip with hiking, rafting and beautiful sites. Being able to bring along the "furry" family members was the cherry on top - the dogs loved the trip. Would definitely recommend a stay here."
