  • What a beautiful house

"This place is absolutely beautiful. The property is well maintained, the beds are super comfy, the kitchen is huge, there are 3 bathrooms all very spacious. the scenery is to die for looking over a lake . the back yard has a grill, a hot tub and a fire pit. with plenty of room to run and play if you have kids. Definitely a very romantic place to get away. the wineries were so close. There are plenty of little shops to go shopping and lots of places to go out to eat if you wish. i will definitely be back."

  • Lovely Home

"We were very happy with our stay. Pros - Tons of space, Plenty of toys for the kids there, friendly neighbors, beautiful view, very clean, all amenities you could need, quiet location, close to tons of vineyards and breweries. Con - and the only reasons I didn't give it a 5 star rating. 1. The descriptions says the house has AC. It does not. There is 1 window unit in 1 bedroom meant to cool only that bedroom. Which left the rest of the house an absolute oven! There is no cross breeze to cool it off. 2. The owners communication is poor. It took her one time a couple days which wasn't bad but another time 1 1/2 weeks. Both of those were through email. One other time we called her with a question when we were there and never got a call back. Having said that I would still stay there again...just bring my own extra window air conditioning units."

  • Peace, Charm, History, Views, Family History

"Our team visiting from Atlanta, GA and Red Wing, MN loved our visit to this lakeside home and the Finger Lakes. For most of us, it was our first time in the area. First, anyone considering renting this place should be delighted to know this rental is more than a house: it has been home to the owners' family since the 1930s. You can feel the love here. We were guests. We enjoyed the family photos and the simplicity of the home and decor. The view of the lake was equal to the warmth of the “voices” we could hear in the walls of your family’s place. Uncluttered. Fresh. Quiet. Practical. Charming. Lovely. Sitting on a small bluff over the eastern shore of Lake Seneca, the breezes were a welcome respite from the heat of summer in Georgia. The house is located on Valois Point, on a dead-end road off the main county road. Not one single car passed in front of the house during our four night visit. Look for the outhouse. A three-holer that is still serviceable for those that want to experience it. The kitchen is loaded with every kind of spatula, knife, chopper, bowl, grater, brewer, corer, etc. you can imagine. You just know all of these items were used during huge family gatherings for years. An old fashion CD player offers a nice selection of jazz and classical music. There are more kitchen and bath towels in this place than a family of 300 could go through in a weekend. In summary, the house was/is a Living Museum, equal parts history and real life contemporary practicality. What a beautiful part of this country, too. We will be back and we will approach the English family to rent again. Thank Ms. Schup, the care taker, too. She was wonderful. She is proof that retirement from corporate life can lead to a fulfilling, simpler life."
