  • Hidden Gem on Esopus Creek

"This little house is in a magical location - it is 5 minutes from the center of Saugerties, but feels far away from everything - it is down a little dead end road and right on the Esopus Creek. The house has been beautifully renovated inside, with excellent modern appliances, comfortable king size beds, heated floors and even a heated towel rack in the bathroom! Light pours in from the large windows on the creek side, and the deck overlooking the creek is amazing. We visited for the weekend after Thanksgiving (me, my husband and our small dog), so it was too cold to kayak, but we want to come back in warmer weather! The town of Saugerties has several interesting, excellent restaurants - Miss Lucy's and Love Bites were our favorites - and several unusual shops. I recommend the bookstore on the corner of Main and Partition and the women's clothing store DIGS. A perfect location and perfect setting for a relaxing long weekend away from New York City."

  • Our visit of New York and USMA

"Kay was a wonderful host. My son described it best when he said he wished all of the homes in our area had as much character as this old world charmer. It truly was like visiting a wealthy uncles country home. I wish we had booked a tour of the nearby Manitoga home right next door. It has wonderful access to the rail system which in just over an hour will get you to New York with an amazing scenic view of the river for most of the time. We also enjoyed it's close access to the United States military Academy where we visited my son. We also happen to hit this house right during prime season colors in October – we will carry forward many wonderful memories for years to come."

  • Lakeside Retreat

"Great lake-view house, pretty much as described in the listing, including the amenities. Ample room, very clean and well-maintained. All the necessities and comforts of home. Loved the dock just steps from the house. Pat (the owner) is warm and accommodating, and readily accessible if needed. Although it was just my wife and myself on this trip, the house would be comfortable for a family of 4-6. Location is ideal for fishing and sightseeing, close to Saratoga Springs, the track, and the Saratoga battlefield (for us history buffs). We would highly recommend this property, and it would be our first choice if we're back in this area."

  • Charming, private, and secluded getaway

"This home is charming and secluded, yet convenient to all of the Berkshire attractions—Hancock Shaker Village, Tanglewood, Jiminy Peak, etc. The home is well-kept and the perfect location for star-gazing late at night. Other reviewers have mentioned the post and beam construction means sound carries throughout the house, so that's something to be aware of. The owner is attentive and helpful and (even though she was away on her own vacation) managed to get us a replacement coffee maker within 24 hours when the one in the house stopped working. Thanks for a lovely week!"
