  • Gorgeous cabin

"My family and I had an absolutely wonderful vacation at the Endless View cabin. The house lived up to its name and provided a perfect home base. It was clean and well-appointed; we cooked several meals there and had everything we needed in terms of cookware. All appliances worked including the TV, outdoor gas grill, and indoor gas fireplace. We had 4 adults on our trip and we had plenty of room. The location and the view simply cannot be beat; from morning coffee on the deck to evening wine by the fire pit or in the rocking chairs. And speaking of the fire pit- what a nice surprise! We discovered (that is, some friendly neighbors told us) that it had just been completed right before our stay- lucky us! We looked forward to returning to the cabin after we spent the days hiking, canoeing, sightseeing or going for scenic drives. We especially enjoyed West Jefferson, Mt. Jefferson state natural area, canoeing the New River (Zaloo's Canoes outfitter was very friendly), and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would most certainly return to this cabin. One addition that perhaps could easily be made, would be screens on the bedroom and bathroom windows (not the front windows- that would detract from the view). This would have made us feel more comfortable about leaving windows open to enjoy the mountain air. Not that there were many bugs, and ladybugs and stinkbugs (both harmless) are going to find their way in anyway because that's what they do, but it would keep out the random moth. No big deal either way; it's the only constructive thing I can think to mention. :) One last compliment I have is that I was impressed with the information we got regarding directions, gate and door codes, WiFi password, what to do with trash, check-in and check-out times, what to bring etc. The management communicated well, and there are helpful instructions in the home as well. Good communication goes a long way so this was important to me. Thanks so much for letting us stay in your home. We hope to be back!"

  • Amazing Get-Away

"This beautiful, pet-friendly log home is very comfortable, well-appointed, well-maintained, and well-equipped. The kitchen has everything you could want/need in a vacation rental. The beds are very comfortable (something I always worry about); king bed and bunk beds on the main level. Although the walk down to the river is somewhat steep, there are steps for part of it. Once down, there's a picnic table to sit in the shade and enjoy the river and the little "rapids" there. If you're not up to walking down to the water, you can both see/hear the river from the comfort of rocking chairs on the back deck. There's a nice gas grill and another picnic table here. The deck at the front of the home also has rocking chairs where you can watch family/friends play horseshoes. The lower level has two additional bedrooms (king in one and a full-size and twin in the other) as well as a nice pool table, another satellite TV with a small sofa to watch from, and a laundry room with HE washer/dryer. The hot tub is outside on the patio along with a porch swing. The home is in a quiet development just far enough away from town to be somewhat rural but close enough to enjoy all that West Jefferson and Lansing have to offer. We enjoyed many walks in the state forest, Mt. Jefferson, and nearby Grayson Highlands in VA (about 17 miles). Ashe County Park has a world-class disc golf course as well as many other amenities. Pie in the Sky in Lansing has great pizza using locally-sourced ingredients. Smoky Mountain BBQ in West Jefferson is also a favorite of ours as is Boondocks. We stayed at this home for ten days and hated to leave. Hope to return next year."

  • Stuck with no phone

"Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the cabin was great! That being said it could use a landline phone inside the cabin. On the way up the driveway there is a considerable ditch on the right side that isn't so obvious in the winter. I got stuck and with no cell reception thought there would be a landline in the cabin. I was wrong, had a neighbor not of been home (walking down the hillside) we would've had no way to get the vehicle out."
