  • October trip

"We stayed at this lovely home for the second time and just love all things about this property. The views are spectacular and our weather cooperated perfectly. The house is so comfortable and being right on Taylors Creek is ideal because we love to kayak. Horses on the shore and dolphins playing in the creek. What great surroundings. Thank you again Stan for sharing your home. Hope you get to use it soon too. Dee"

  • Cortney

"It is an older home but well kept and clean. Great boat launch pad and well protected dock. Definitely easiest to launch @ Mid To high tide. We took our 23ft Carolina skiff and felt it was perfect. Its only a short boat ride to sand dollar island, Cape Look out and of course to see the wild horses😊"

  • Nice, well-maintained home. Beautiful views. Convenient dock.

"The house is in a tiny town and the area is very quiet and peaceful. There's a small restaurant within walking distance, but we cooked all our meals. We came to relax, fish, and collect shells. We visited two of the barrier islands which were mostly devoid of people (yay!) and had lots of wildlife. The dock is close to the house, making it super-convenient to jump in to go fishing/shelling without the whole production of driving to a public dock every time we wanted to use the boat. The public dock is about a mile away, so it's a quick trip to put the boat in the first day. There's a fish-cleaning station and a bench at the end of the dock. Be aware that the boat lift isn't available for use and there's no power available on the dock. We brought a long extension cord to charge the trolling motor battery. There's a big table under the house where we could set up our fishing equipment. The house was well-maintained and clean. I was surprised (and pleased) to find all the basic necessities like hand, dish, and laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and a nice array of spices. There's a Dollar General close by if you forget anything. I stopped in to replace the box of microwave popcorn I used and found DG even had a decent selection of cold groceries. The furniture, including the bed in the master bedroom, was clean and comfortable. The mattress makes loud noises when moving. I didn't look, but I'm guessing the culprit was a mattress cover. Once we settled in, it was comfortable and we slept well. The linens were nice and clean. The screened porch was one of the reasons I chose this house and it did not disappoint. It's big enough to comfortably hold the picnic table and lots of chairs. We watched the sunset out there almost every night. The water pressure is good. The water feels soft and I'm pretty sure I heard a water softener system running. The water from the fridge dispenser tasted great. The WiFi was fast enough for surfing and email. I didn't try to stream video. We had a few minor issues, a beeping smoke detector (found a battery in drawer to replace it) and a tv failure (there was a second tv), but these were things that can happen in any home. The owner was very friendly and responsive to questions before and during our stay. We received our deposit within a few days of returning home. We had a wonderful time. We would stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends."
