  • Quiet, secluded, slightly rustic, EXCELLENT

"My Dad and I stayed here for 2 nights in October and had a great time! We used the home as a base for traveling in the area (Grayson Highlands, AT, Damascus). The hot tub under the stars was great! It was nice and clean. The owners were very helpful - I had no complaints! If I return to this area, I will certainly try to use this place again!"

  • Relaxing, beautiful cottage with lovely garden

"My two daughters (11 and 13) stayed at Meadow Cottage for a week and had a wonderful time. The cottage is charming and so peaceful (I slept better than I have for years), and the garden/yard is beautiful. There are several areas to sit and read a book outside, have morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening - the porches on the front and back of the house as well as a fire pit and a table and chairs in the garden. Jim and Jennifer are the kindest people and we loved getting to know them - the pastries and coffee/tea/juices left for our arrival made us feel instantly welcome. We stayed during the Abingdon Arts festival and spent a couple of days wandering around there, we also (upon Jennifer's suggestion) biked the 18 mile Virginia Creeper trail which was so much fun! It's the easiest bike ride we have ever been on - a shuttle drives you to the top of the mountain and the entire ride is downhill with multiple places to stop and climb rocks or put your feet in the water. We also kayaked which the girls loved and the biggest hit was seeing Mamma Mia at the Barter theater. We plan on returning - Abingdon is a lovely little town and we will absolutely stay at one of Jennifer and Jim's properties again. They become like friends!"

  • What a wonderful relaxing getaway!

"Our family wanted to spend thanksgiving in the mountains! And we got what we wanted. Diana is amazing and such a lovely hostess! We had everything we could've needed. The kitchen was loaded with gadgets and utensils. We couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable time. We can't wait to come back!!"

  • Charming home in the country

"This home was the perfect location and house for our college homecoming. With plenty of bedrooms, lounging, cooking, etc. It was so nice to hang out on the front porch during the evenings with friends and share laughter and love. Located between Emory and Henry College and Abingdon it was the perfect location. I highly recommend this space. Beautiful home, all the kitchen stuff you need to prepare wonderful meals and a GREAT front porch for relaxation."
