  • The Ideal Guest House with The Most Gracious Hostess!!

"If I could rate this guest house with more than 5 stars, then I certainly would do so!! My friends and I reserved the guest house from September 7, 2016 to September 12, 2016, and we have absolutely no complaints. You will immediately know this property is special when you arrive and see the myriad of plants surrounding the house. I was so impressed with the landscape that I toured the entire yard before I walked into the house. Then, the interior of the house amazed all of us! This property has all of the conveniences of home, and it is within walking distance of restaurants. We ate breakfast each morning within the screened back porch, and we also enjoyed tea or an adult beverage on the screened porch at night. The only time my friends and I used our car was when we commuted to our event in Bristol. My friends and I are health conscious but we enjoy a good beer. I brought my bike, and I biked the Virginia Creeper Trail which is located around the corner from the guest house. A bike shop is located next door to the guest house which was convenient because I discovered a slow leak in my rear tire. The shop replaced my inner tube within 10 minutes. We had a delicious meal at the Peppermil located on Main Street, and my friends sampled the beer at Wolf Hills Brewery which is located down the street from the guest house. There is a natural foods market across the street from guest house where I purchased organic tea. This market has a little bit of everything (e.g., apothecary, free range meat, bakery, etc.). Lastly but definitely not least, the owner (Ms. Janet) is absolutely wonderful!! She responded immediately to my initial inquiry about making reservations. She is definitely Abingdon’s best advocate because she had me eager to visit Abingdon months before I arrived. I highly recommend this property, and I will definitely return!!"

  • The 4 Knitting ladies

"We had such a wonderful time! This was the first time the 4 of us have vacationed together without our husbands. The Crooked Cabin was PERFECT! Women can be difficult and we were all a bit concerned but the Cabin was perfectly appointed, very comfortable, right within walking distance of practically everything, and enough room to give us the space we needed. It's interesting "Crooked" features added laughs and conversation. Our Host and Hostess went WAY beyond what was necessary to make our stay perfect, even to bringing us a plate of cookies when WE couldn't figure how to cut the TV on! (It worked perfectly-our bad). We are already planning another trip. The 6 1/2 hr drive was well worth it, and beat stay in the hotel."

  • Fabulous Vacation at Maple Spring Inn!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at Maple Spring Inn. What a beautiful and relaxing retreat, away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment options. The Inn was impeccably clean with everything we needed to enjoy our visit. The master bedroom was extraordinarily spacious and the adjoining bathroom was gorgeous with an amazing shower and a jetted tub. Donna was wonderful to work with. She loves the Inn and goes the extra mile to ensure her guests are happy. Some rentals provide a limited amount of paper goods, but Donna has extras conveniently stored for her guests. We loved walking around the property, sitting on the porches and watching the fireflies and wildlife. We rode the Virginia Creeper Trail, saw a play at the Barter Theatre, enjoyed delicious dining in a number of restaurants in town, and had a great tour of the Abingdon Winery. We couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy the week! The next time we're back in the area, we'll definitely plan to stay at Maple Spring Inn."

  • Beautiful Farmhouse

"Two couples visiting Bristol for the NASCAR race Aug. 2016. This farmhouse is beautiful, and Mary Lynn and HD go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable! The property is beautiful, and I even got to see lightening bugs for the first time! The home has everything you need. We arrived to find a fruit and cheese platter and then the first morning fresh bagels that Mary Lynn delivered. The beds were comfortable and there is plenty of space to accommodate a large group. We had a wonderful stay and when we return to Bristol we will stay here again!"
