  • The Cabin in the Blue Ridge provided us a great escape

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cabin in the Blue Ridge. We particularly enjoyed the fact that the Cabin was by itself on a large property and that our families could play, ride bikes, and explore the area without worry of anyone else being around. The amenities were great and allowed us to cook, play games, and socialize together as friends. There are many great things to do in the area. We rode the Virginia Creeper Trail, hiked to Cascade Falls, and spent some time at Hungry Mother State Park during our visit. There were plenty of beds for our group and the layout was clearly articulated and matched the actual layout. The listing description was accurate and the property was clean and well maintained. I have and will continue to recommend the Cabin in the Blue Ridge friends, relatives, and acquaintances who are visiting the area and would like a comfortable escape. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we look forward to visiting the Cabin again sometime!"

  • The Ideal Guest House with The Most Gracious Hostess!!

"If I could rate this guest house with more than 5 stars, then I certainly would do so!! My friends and I reserved the guest house from September 7, 2016 to September 12, 2016, and we have absolutely no complaints. You will immediately know this property is special when you arrive and see the myriad of plants surrounding the house. I was so impressed with the landscape that I toured the entire yard before I walked into the house. Then, the interior of the house amazed all of us! This property has all of the conveniences of home, and it is within walking distance of restaurants. We ate breakfast each morning within the screened back porch, and we also enjoyed tea or an adult beverage on the screened porch at night. The only time my friends and I used our car was when we commuted to our event in Bristol. My friends and I are health conscious but we enjoy a good beer. I brought my bike, and I biked the Virginia Creeper Trail which is located around the corner from the guest house. A bike shop is located next door to the guest house which was convenient because I discovered a slow leak in my rear tire. The shop replaced my inner tube within 10 minutes. We had a delicious meal at the Peppermil located on Main Street, and my friends sampled the beer at Wolf Hills Brewery which is located down the street from the guest house. There is a natural foods market across the street from guest house where I purchased organic tea. This market has a little bit of everything (e.g., apothecary, free range meat, bakery, etc.). Lastly but definitely not least, the owner (Ms. Janet) is absolutely wonderful!! She responded immediately to my initial inquiry about making reservations. She is definitely Abingdon’s best advocate because she had me eager to visit Abingdon months before I arrived. I highly recommend this property, and I will definitely return!!"

  • Fabulous Vacation!

"Eight of us stayed at the Chalet and had plenty of room. We were in town for the Bristol race and stayed a week to explore. The people in the area could not be any friendlier (homeowner too! Joe was always available to answers questions). We rented a pontoon from Friendly Marina (we recommend them highly, great people!!), and went to Gatlinburg for a day, it's a 2 hour trip but worth it if you have people that love to shop :) The Chalet is beautiful, the view is awesome, and we spent hours out on the deck every night. We will definitely be making a return trip!"

  • Felt private in the heart of downtown

"Our family was visiting Abingdon to celebrate our daughter's birthday. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Craftsman Cottage! The accommodations were impeccable, beautifully furnished with thoughtful design details, such as luxuriously heated bathroom floors, a well-equipped kitchen and a gorgeous craftsman architectural archway. We appreciated all of the windows allowing us to watch the snow fall while we enjoyed the fire. The cottage's location felt private in the heart of downtown and was perfect for dining at great restaurants and visiting the Barter."
