  • Great house in a Great location

"Finding this house was a dream come true. It was a beautiful location, close to great Virginia historical places for day trips. My family of 9 was comfortable with room enough for everyone which included 3 teenage girls with huge bathroom demands. We loved every minute using all of the amenities available at the property, especially the pool. The best time of year for this location is not July because of the heat and humidity, but we managed to have a great time. Thanks for a great Family vacation that will always be remembered!"

  • Perfect for a long weekend getaway!

"My husband and I stayed at The Blue House the first weekend in August. We absolutely loved it. The town of Irvington offered us the laid back feel we were looking for. We enjoyed walking around the town and visiting the shops and restaurants. We also explored the nearby towns of Kilmarnock and White Stone and even took a drive over to Williamsburg. The house was just the right size for the two of us and we enjoyed sitting out at night on the porch and relaxing with a glass of wine! Definitely would spend another weekend in Irvington and stay at The Blue House!"

  • Perfect!

"My best friend and I spent a long weekend at the Piankatank cottage and couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting. The pictures do not do it justice. We only had three days and had made plans to explore but were so in love with the setting that, with the exception of a side trip to a beautiful winery and a movie under the stars in Urbanna, we decided to just stay and relax. The view was amazing and due to the cooler weather we were able to open the doors and windows to the porch so we could hear the river sounds and smell the marsh. We had the entire place to ourselves. There are so many things to see and do and nothing is very far away at all (it only looks like it on a a map). The Deltaville Market has just about everything you need and it's practically around the corner. J&W Seafood has wonderful fish and crabmeat. The kitchenette is small but we found it easy to prepare meals in. Everything is high end and well-cared for. The cottage was very clean. I could go on and on. We can't wait to go back and we definitely hope we can stay longer!"

  • Best vacation ever!

"My husband and I hadn't had a vacation for over 25 years. We were looking to scout out the area as a retirement possibility and came armed with printouts of homes for sale there. Both Mary and Captain Billy were as charming as they could be, helpful but not the least bit intrusive. The cabin was spotless and comfortable and reasonably priced. It is a relaxing setting and we really enjoyed our sunset cruise. The area is just beautiful. We will definitely be back."
