  • Peaceful

"We have just returned from our week stay at the Cottage. The week was exactly what we hoped it would be. Great family time in a relaxed, peaceful setting. We have two young children who loved the animals, especially the chickens and cats. The farm surroundings provided plenty of entertainment for the kids and we spent most of our time around the pool. I took a walk every morning and each day saw wildlife, it is just a beautiful setting. There are two hiking trails on the property we explored the shorter one. It was perfect for our kids. We did make it into Harrisonburg a few times for dinner or an activity. The drive is an easy 30 minutes. Carol and Jim are very nice and welcoming."

  • Perfect

"This is a large, beautifully decorated and very cozy townhouse. Clean and an added plus is the garage for easy packing and unpacking. Perfect location. Would stay here again and again. Becky could not be any nicer to deal with."

  • Great home to visit.

"I visited in this home with a group of friends the last weekend in April, 2016, and it was a great place to stay. It was a little difficult to tell the lay out and number of bedrooms, etc., from the website, but it is a five bedroom home on three stories. The downstairs level has a queen bedroom and another, smaller bedroom with a single bed (like a day bed, but still comfortable). The downstairs also has a full bathroom, a living area with a large flat screen TV. The main level (i.e. second level that you enter from the driveway), has the kitchen, dining area and great room with vaulted ceilings. There's a huge wrap-around deck too which is awesome. Also on this level you will find two other bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a bunk bed & twin bed. There is also a full bathroom on this level. The upstairs is the master suite, with a large loft area (with couch & computer/office area) overlooking into the great room. Also has a walk-in closet, large bathroom and of course a king size bed. Home was nicely kept and I would highly recommend if you are staying in Wintergreen."

  • Beautiful property, lovely hosts

"We thoroughly enjoyed our Easter vacation at the farm. There was plenty of room for our family of 6. The house was immaculately clean, and we were able to get in a few hours early. We were well stocked with plenty of towels and essentials. Despite the age and quirkiness of the house, the kitchen was modern, and the fruit & chocolate was a welcome surprise when we arrived. Brad and Deana gave us excellent advice on local hikes (esp humpback rocks) and restaurants (loved Blue Mtn Brewery & Kings Popcorn) . we were about 20 minutes from hikes in the Shenandoah National forest (Doyle Falls hike was beautiful,) and 30 minutes to Monicello, both of which we enjoyed. Our kids loved playing ping pong in the barn, visiting the donkeys, and walking down to the river to fish. The location felt secluded, yet was just a few minutes to the highway. Our security deposit was promptly returned. would definitely recommend this home."
