  • floating amongst the huckleberry (bush) house

"so yes, not quite a treehouse but definitely amidst the trees and natural beauty of orcas island wonder. a fabulous place to stay over the holiday weekend during winter when orcas is a sleepier place, even so close by to eastbound. the huckleberry house was such a cozy place to return after days adventuring around the island. well appointed, easy to navigate and very well cared for; would definitely recommend! love me some orcas island and my stay at the huckleberry house only furthered such notions."

  • Fantastic getaway!

"Location is lovely and views are stunning. We had a great time in the cozy space. It's well set up with a great kitchen - had everything we needed to cook meals from scratch. The bed was comfortable and big, and the bathroom was luxurious. We enjoyed the natural light and the huge television - best of both worlds :)"

  • Lovely for a family getaway

"We had a terrific time for our week away - the house was immaculate, the location was ideal- it's about 15 minutes away from Eastsound and about 20-25 minutes to Moran State Park. We went hiking every day on the island and often went to Cascade lake for swimming afterward. Our family of two adults, 2 kids ages 7 and 10 and my mother (an active senior in her late 70's) had a fantastic time. We ate in almost every night, the kitchen is great to cook in and the grill works beautifully too. We used the hot tub every night - the view is to die for!!! I got up most mornings to see the sunrise. I felt like I was in a special tree house watching the birds, the deer and looking for sea life. The neighborhood is very quiet with only a few houses nearby. I agree that the terrain would not lend itself well to bicycle riding or running directly from or to the house given the steepness. I also would caution this for people with very small children if the parents were staying in the master which is one flight up - though the other bedroom is ideally located across from the bunkbed room. My daughters loved the bunkbeds! I strongly recommend this house for the comfort, the view and the location!"

  • Outstanding experience

" Very much enjoyed this gorgeous property and world class views Spent several summers on Orcas while in high school & enjoyed visiting my old haunts. As an avid trail runner, was pleasantly surprised to find immediate access to the Moran State Park trail system & enjoyed several early morning runs in the pristine old growth forests and associated flora, fauna and wildlife Many thanks to the very accommodating owners with providing every possible feature culminating in an overall outstanding experience ......we WILL be back With regards Dave Teed USN RET"
