  • Beautiful place to stay

"Close to Moran State Park and Rosario Resort on Orcas but very private setting and right on the Sound. Lots of room. Quiet, great sunsets and spacious. Would definitely recommend."

  • Adorable little cottage

"Loved this adorable little cottage. The house had everything we needed and it was quite cozy. The fenced yard was appreciated as we brought the pups along. We brought our crab pots and caught several right off the dock. 😊 Owners were great to work with. Highly recommend!"

  • Wow! Perfect location with outstanding views of East Sound

"Our Orcas Island vacation was made all the better by staying near Rosario. Although the house is not large, its outdoor space is exceptional. Inside, the living, dining and kitchen area make a great space to hangout and enjoy the wide open views of East Sound. Step outside onto the deck for outdoor dining and even better views. At night we enjoyed the home theater system, relaxing and enjoying movie night with our kids. The house is just the right size for a family of four. Our kids loved the sleeping loft, with its own private view of the sound. With only one bathroom, we sometimes had to be patient but it was the only downside of this cabin like home. The kitchen is well stocked with high quality cookware and adequate appliances. The real treat was the access to all that Orcas Island has to offer. With Rosario just a short walk away, we took advantage of whale watching with Deer Harbor Charters (they have launch points around the island). They were a great outfit and we were lucky enough to see many orcas at play. After we stepped off the boat, we had lunch at Rosario resort and strolled up the hill, back to the house. Another day, we again just walked down the hill to meet Shearwater Adventures for a nice guided sea kayaking tour with our kids. They do a great job of making a safe, educational and fun trip for everyone. Later that night, we again walked down to Rosario for dinner at the Mansion Restaurant, a very nice fine dining experience. In between these trips we enjoyed the quick access to Moran State Park, where there is easily some of the best hiking in all of the San Juan Islands. Sometimes we walked in and sometimes we took the short drive into the park for more distant hikes. Our favorite was Mountain Lake, a great trail for adults to enjoy the views while the kids explore along the way. If you're looking for a peaceful hideaway, with great views of East Sound and easy access to the best of Orcas Island, you can't go wrong with this home. We are already planning return trips to the island and will again hope to stay in this home."

  • Lovely but a bit overpriced

"This is a very nice place to stay: very comfortable, clean, well-appointed, well-stocked (except for tissues!) and well-located. The only reason I am giving it four stars instead of five is that it is over-priced compared to the competition. We ended up choosing it because everything else similar was already booked."
