An unbelievably special place. Breathtaking views, generous and helpful host and fully equipped in every way

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the mill house. At our arrival, we were greeted by Henrique and he filled us in on some of the fascinating history of the home. The mill house was warmly decorated, comfortable and well stocked. We enjoyed great day trips in the area, but always came home to our peaceful quinta. We were met with the scent of orange blossoms, took advantage of the wonderful meal delivered to our door, walked through the vineyard, and shared a glass of Port next to the river. Thank you for sharing your beatifiul home!

This property is stunning. It is everything you see in the pictures and more. Every aspect of the villa is high quality. The view, the living space, the awesome breakfasts prepared by Helena and the information provided by Kate were all exceptional. We were a party of 6, but there is lots of room for 4 couples to spend time together or find a quiet place to read. We loved everything about this property and I know it would have been even better if the weather cooperated. The only thing to be aware of is driving in the valley and the access road to the villa requires your full attention. When you are planning your excursions, keep in mind covering territory takes time and you will owe a big thank you to your driver who will have to stay away from the great local wines until the car is safely back in the driveway.

If there were a gold medal for Vrbo hosts Francisco and Teresa would be overwhelming favorites. They set a standard we have never experienced in a lifetime of travel. Not only did they help us plan our itinerary they went so far as to meet us at the train station several times to make sure we were heading in the right direction. Their graciousness and hospitality will remain with us forever. And then the property itself. The restoration of a family property since 1680 was stunning. Magnificent views from every window, air so fresh you could sense it, and orchards that supplied us the best orange juice we've ever tasted. The list could go on and on. Of course there was the awe inspiring beauty of the Douro valley. Twisting mountain roads provided photo opportunities at every turn. Day excursions to Porto and Pinhao were also great but the real treat was returning to Quinto do Loureiro each day. If Portugal is on your travel plans hopefully you can refuel at Quinto do Loureiro.
