Hello, I am Derek, a freelance European Tour Director and a Londoner.
Why the Owner Chose Barcelona
I originally bought this lovely one bedroom flat as my home. I was living in Barcelona, wanted to buy but wanted to buy the right place. I waited and looked around. Passeig de Gracia was the obvious dream location in the city as it is the Principal Avenue, the main street, the most elegant and prestigious address in town. When I saw the opportunity, I grabbed it and never looked back. It is "The" best location in town.
The Unique Benefits of this Apartment By Owner
The flat is very comfortable and above all, very quiet. An important feature in Spain. For city dwellers, where best to stay than on the most exclusive avenue with the all the shops, restaurants, cafes and public transport at your feet? The most important feature to me, apart from comfort, is the ease of getting around the city - on foot. When arriving in Barcelona or leaving to go to the airport, it is so easy, I just take the very inexpensive train which links the airport to Passeig de Gracia. The station is a one minute walk away. Being the best location in town, taxis are plentiful.

Dear Derek, The location of your apartment was ideal. We were able to do and see alot ( museums, Sagrada Familia, etc.). We wished that we had more time in Barcelona. We did have a couple of hiccups at the start ( there was a bicycle race going on when we got in and the streets going to that part of the city were blocked off for awhile so we were a couple of hours late getting to the apartment). Soraya met us at the apartment and was gracious and helpful. Thank you for the use of your apartment. Nellie

Derek, just got back in, I love to travel but I cant say I love the traveling part. Thank you for your prompt follow up and thanks for sharing your place with us. Where do I start. 1) Amazing location, we picked the Aerobus right outside the airport terminal and it dropped us off right across the stree from the apartment. The Passeig de Gracia is truly one of the most prestigious areas of the city right across the street from Casa Battlo and 3 blocks away from Casa Mila. Great coffee shops and restaurants and La Rambla all within walking distance. All the tourist attractions within a short walk or a quick hop on the Metro which was also very conveniently located accross the street. 2) The apartment was lovely and perfect for the my wife and I, spacious yet cozy at the same time and extremly well supplied. We bought some nice wines and goodies to snack on at the gourmet shop on Arago and we were all set. The WI-FI was nice to have. 3) Mariano and the building staff were great . Mariano was a real treat and he set the tone for the whole with his wa to come. The building porters were courteous and professional at all times. 4) Last but now least was Barcelona itself, what a fabulous city.
