Great house, great staff, great owners

I have never written a review for anything. However, I decided within the first few hours of being at the villa I had to share our experience. I put together a golf trip for 8 of my golfing buddies. The owners, Kathleen and David could not have been more helpful and patient. Kathleen took care of everything, tee times, transportation to and from the airport, food and wine recommendations. She was incredibly accomodating before, during and even after our stay. They have put together a wonderful staff at the villa. Our waiter Antonio could not do enough for us. He went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great time and had everything we needed. I couldn't tell you the number of times my friends came up to me and said how great Antonio was. Sonia is a terrific chef. We decided to eat every meal in the house because everything was fantastic. The maids kept the place spotless (which was a challenge with our crowd) and the rest of the staff was always there to assist with anything we needed. The house itself is just awesome. As impressive as the pictures are they do not do the villa justice. The pool area is just awesome. We are already working on trying to figure out when our return trip to Barranca 21 will be next year.

The house is gorgeous. The 3 bedrooms upstairs are all masters, with king beds and giant bathrooms and closets. The upstairs open area is magnificent. The downstairs is also a completely open floor plan, with a gigantic living room, outdoor seating area, stunning pool and great vista. While your up on a hill, and have a beautiful view, the water is far off in the distance. The ground floor has 3 bedrooms, one facing the ocean, one the front, and there's a very cool garden room, accessible over the moat out front. The two bedrooms downstairs are for the kids or the couple that draws the small straw. Its abit damp and cold down there The service provided by Antonio, the cooking by Sonia, and the cleaning by a team of others is off the charts. I highly suggest eating every meal in, as Sonia's food and her smile, combined with the view, the peacefulness and the service is far better than anything else around. We ate out one night, in on the other two, and wished we ate all three in. There are 3 golf carts so we went all over exploring, or down to the marina for food, or to see the large ships. The owners have thought of everything, you will be very happy here with a group from 8 golfers, to 6 couples, to many families. there is agreat boom box, so bring an iPod! Few misses that need to be addressed by the owners....the hot tub in the pool is cold, the pool sticks need to be replaced or repaired, the water pressure in the showers is pitifully weak! Outside of those 3 little onnoyances, this home is awesome and the place to stay. Unless you want to be on a beach?

Our extended family of 15 stayed there over New Years 2011-2012. The house was magnificent. Very spacious. Large bedrooms. Tremendous pool. Nice view of the ocean. A wonderful staff.

The Best Place

This was the second trip to this wonderful villa for our group of golf buddies. The house is much more than the website pics or the descriptions offered. It offered us a perfect venue for relaxing, golfing, eating and drinking. When we first made plans for our trip last year, we set up to eat one dinner the first night and go out the following evenings for dinner. After our first dinner that first night, we never left the house for any meals. The second year we knew better than to plan and eat elsewhere. ALL meals at the house were terrific. The staff was wonderful and could not have done more. The owners went way beyond anything we could have expected in making our stay perfect. The word no was not in their vocabulary. They made all arrangements for any of our needs, and did a great job in stocking the house with food and management of the staff. It was clear from our experience last year that they truly cared about our enjoyment, and that is why we went back again. No 5 star hotel could even come close.

This IS Paradise!!

We've been all over the world and Barranca 21 was the BEST family vacation we've taken to date! This HUGE indoor/outdoor GORGEOUS home has it all - EIGHT seemingly soundproof and comfortable bedrooms (each with their own bathrooms), lots of common areas - both indoors and outdoors; an amazing pool and hot tub; and beautiful ocean vistas with sultry sunset views. This home is basically a self-sustaining little village....it has a full staff of friendly, competent locals who want to fulfill your every desire!!! My husband and I brought 16 of our extended family members (including 5 children under 6 and one infant!), and friends with us for 6 nights, and none of us wanted to leave by the end!! The home is located in the Casa De Campo resort, which has so many activities you can participate in - or you can choose to spend your vacation happily sunning by the pool and having Antonio serve you drinks and the AMAZING chef Sonia preparing all your favorite foods!! You can travel throughout Casa de Campo in golfcarts (rental is extra, but arranged for you), so you don't even need a car! The resort has horseback riding, a shooting range, a marina with lots of boatiing day trips available, 2 tennis centers with knowledgeable pros and, of course world-class golf courses! The beach is 5 minutes by golfcart and is gorgeous and clean with lots of staff to fetch drinks and food for us! There is even a "coconut man" who (supposedly), climbs a tree and cuts down coconuts when you want to have coconut juice! (We ordered the juice, and watched him lop off the top of the coconut, but didn't witness the climb!) Vacations usually mean a lot of work for the hosts, but the managers of Barranca 21 do it right: they offer every service you will need in advance, make all the arrangements and reservations for you beforehand and then let you know approximately how much it is all going to cost BEFORE you arrive so there are no surprises later.. Which we really appreciated! We are going to make this our annual spring break vacation home because it is really is PARADISE!! Don't miss out on this stress-free destination!!

The Best possible choice for a villa

I stayed at this Villa on 2 different occasions with 2 different groups. First group was 8 golfers with each of us having our own bedroom. The place, grounds, staff, food, amenities were so spectacular that I convinced my wife and 3 other couples to return there 2 weeks later instead of going to another island or 5 star resort like a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons....The on-line photos don't do the place justice and the owners couldn't be more accomodating. We had almost all of our meals at the Villa which were prepared by a fantastic chef. The bottom line is that we all agreed that we had a better time at the Villa than at those top resorts listed above. And, we spent half the amount of money for it as well. Can't beat it and we are all going back next year for sure.

PERFECT VACATION

This is our 2nd year at the villa ..... which is magnificent rivaled only by the staff who are fantastic ........ we have had as many as four families stay at one time. Take advantage of the provisioning service and have the best food & drink in Casa De Campo. Sonia is a fantastic chef and Antonio pampers you and caters to all your needs. Kathleen & David , the owners are on top of all the details that you would like taking care of.

This is one of the most awsome villas in Casa de Campo. We stayed here for a week and did not want to leave. The house has everything. An amazing endless pool with an postcard type view. Inside the main pool is a yacuzzi and a wet bar, We spent a lot of time here! The rooms are beautiful, very spacious and the bathrooms are as good as it gets. The kitchen is also huge and very well equipped. We hired a chef that pampered us all week long. The villa manager and owners where always available to answer all our questions and hepled make our vacation perfect. I dont want to sound like a commercial, but this house it truly great. I would stay here again without hesitation. My kids (6,12, 15) had the time of their lives. The landscape on the property was looking great!

Golf trip

Unbelievable stay at the property for myself and 10 golf buddies. The accommodations were spectacular, the staff extremely helpful, cooked great meals and took care of everything we asked for. Dave and kathleen, the owners, went out of their way to make sure we had tee times, dinner reservations, transportation to and from the airport, massages in the villa and anything else we needed. I would highly recommend this property.
