Why stay at a crowded resort when, for the same price, you can have true wilderness seclusion in this privately owned, beautifully furnished Lake Vermilion lake cabin?
Looking out our windows, you see no other cabins unless you use binoculars. We are at the "more remote" east end of Lake Vermilion, on the mainland. (Many cabins on Vermilion are on islands, but our cabin has the benefit of allowing you to drive right up to the door.) If you're looking at a map of Lake Vermilion, the far eastern tip of Pine Island points like a finger right at our cabin. The beauty of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) is only a half mile away through the woods, one and a half miles away by boat or canoe. A canoe is provided, and a boat and motor can be provided for an additional cost of $300 per week.
Enjoy your own private dock on a renowned fishing lake, 250 feet of private shoreline on a point, large shaded patio with high quality gas grill, and a beautifully furnished wilderness lake cabin featuring all wood interior, fully equipped kitchen, stunning lake views, stone fireplace, bathroom with shower, main level living area, and separate lower level family room with couch, chairs, and tables for games.
We would like to show you an online slide show of over 100 beautiful pictures of this property. If the link below doesn't work for you, please either call us or send us a VRBO email inquiry and we will send you the link in email.
The bedrooms are configured as follows: bedroom #1 has one twin bed only, bedroom #2 has one twin bed only, bedroom #3 has one queen bed and one twin bed, and two additional sofa beds are available, linen included. The entire cabin was completely redone in 2000. Sorry, no dishwasher. No pets. No smoking.
This cabin has been lovingly cared for by the same family for 30 years, and has very seldom been rented out during that time. Understandably, we are interested in renting only to very respectful guests who will treat the property with the same loving care that we do. For this reason we do ask for multiple references and check them carefully. Preference is given to guests who book for two weeks or longer.
TELL ME ABOUT LAKE VERMILION
The National Geographic Society has described Lake Vermilion as one of the top ten most beautiful lakes in the United States. Today it's known not only for its natural, rustic beauty, but also for championship fishing that includes walleye pike, northern pike, muskellunge, small-mouth bass, crappies, and panfish. Lake Vermilion has 1,200 miles of shoreline (more than any other lake in Minnesota), has no motor restrictions, spans 40 miles, and includes 365 islands --and one of those islands is nine miles long.

We were amazed at how you thought of everything we would need, from the complete kitchen with waffle iron and crockpot, to all the linens, towels, board games, gas grill, and other things too numerous to mention. The cabin was beautifully maintained and clean; even the lawn was beautifully mowed and manicured. It's obvious you take great pride in this place and love it very much. What's still most impressive to us, though, is how private this cabin is. We would sit for hours and not see any people, any other buildings, or any boats at all in all that huge beautiful expanse of water. It's like the BWCA wilderness, but I get a soft bed and a hot shower in the morning! Thank you! We'll be back

"The last night we put smooth jazz to pay on the CD player, and each of us sat at a separate window, soaking in that view in absolute silence. We must have sat there, completely immersed in it all, for 45 minutes."

"We had a fun and relaxing week. We enjoyed every aspect of the cabin, especially the awesome view from the second floor windows. There were lots of fish caught as we explored Lake Vermilion in our bass boat. Vermilion is a beautiful lake and the scenery surrounding the lake and cabin is breathtaking. We always had plenty to do to enjoy ourselves...canoe rides, playing checkers, sitting by the fire, watching the sunset...it was all great! Thanks! We'll be back!"

Loved staying at the cabin for the second year in a row; we caught a massive number of fish inciuding a 5 and 1/4 pound small mouth bass and a 51" muskie. I'll be back in June of 2011!"
