Sandpiper has WiFi and a beautiful 40 inch HD TV! Our cottage is also one of the few cottages on the Seaside VRBO® website that is actually in the town of Seaside!
Four cottages up from the beach and directly in Seaside proper, you’re sure to see several sandpipers of your own running along the white, sandy beaches of Seaside while staying in our Sandpiper cottage! Inside our cottage you’ll find an inviting living room complete with HD TV, DVD, and pull-out sofa bed for extra sleeping space. A short hallway away is a kitchen fit for a culinary king! Stainless steel appliances are flanked by designer cabinetry and black corian countertops with a comfortable dining area to sit and enjoy your breakfast before heading out to the beach! A European designed full bathroom downstairs alongside the washer/dryer and outside shower complete the main level.
Upstairs you’ll find your two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, brand new flat screen TV, and French doors that take you out to your own private balcony. Enjoy your morning coffee on one of the four Adirondack chairs or your afternoon cocktail after a day of shopping around town! The second bedroom sleeps 4 with one full bed and two twins. Another full European designed bathroom with a vintage free-standing bathtub will allow you to enjoy a soak in style!
We are located 2 blocks from the town square and the 4th cottage up from the beach, Sandpiper is a vacationers dream! The swim/tennis/fitness center is at the other end of Savannah Street – only 100 yards away!
Beach chairs, umbrella, floats, and other beach toys are provided for you in this non-smoking cottage.
All Seaside amenities (3 pools, tennis courts, etc) are included "In Season" (March 10-September 3). It is available other times at a nominal fee.

Why the Owner Chose Seaside
We chose to purchase a condo in Seaside, Florida back in 2002 because we fell in love with the beach town concept. We were also a little star struck with the idea that Jim Carey had stayed in the same condo while filming The Truman Show. Two years later, we were enjoying our time at the condo so much that we decided to purchase Sandpiper for the additional space and proximity to the beach. We also found the layout and bunk room perfect for our 3 kids.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Over the years - we've been amazed how well it accommodates our growing family. With the sleeper sofa, our girls and their husbands along with our son are all able to enjoy the cottage together. We especially love the balcony off the master and enjoy many family nights up there with some wine and cheese. And now, even with our first grandson in the mix, we still find space for everyone and the little guy loves the claw foot bath tub! We hope you'll enjoy our cottage and Seaside as much as we do! It truly is our home away from home.

My name is Mark Mitchell and my wife, Kathleen, and I are from Atlanta and bought our Seaside cottage, Sandpiper, in 2004. We have 2 daughters,Shannon & Hayley, who are both married now and a son, Trevor. We also have a grandson named Anderson. My eldest daughter, Shannon, and I started a rental management business in Seaside in 2008 and currently manage 30+ properties in Seaside. Christmas in Seaside!!!

We visit the beautiful beaches of 30A every summer but this was our first experience during the winter. We decided to spend our Christmas this year in Seaside and it was perfect. The weather was a bit cool at times but there was plenty to do in Seaside and not as crowded as it is during the summer months which was very nice. Mark's cottage was exactly as described -- very welcoming and perfect for myself, my husband and our 16 year-old daughter who had 3 beds to herself -- what teenager wouldn't love that!! We would definitely stay here again and again!!! Also, due to weather-related travel issues with the airlines, we ended up staying through the New Year and am I glad we did. Seaside has the best fireworks display hands down -- and right on the beach!!! This is definitely a must visit for New Year's Eve!!

We had an amazing time staying at Sandpiper. The house was perfect, it had everything that we needed. We had a family of 5 staying there and we were all comfortable. The location to the beach was the best, just a short stroll down the street! We also enjoyed the close proximity to the center of Seaside. Every morning we strolled down the sidewalk to The Great Southern to have breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back again very soon!

The Sandpiper cottage was very comfortable for our family of 5. Our favorite part was the screened porch with swing and the close proximity between the beach- I timed it one day it took 2 minutes to walk to the beach and also close to the playground and pool! We loved it, it was our best family vacation yet- we will definetly return! Seaside is awesome as a whole- you don't have to drive anywhere after you get some groceries! Sandpiper makes it so easy to check in and out- you feel relaxed the moment you arrive! Thank you for a fantastic vacation! I can safely say, I did NOT want to leave!!

The Sandpiper was exactly as advertised, and was in a superior location. Quiet, quaint and very sound, the cottage was spacious and more than comfortable. The entire Seaside area is unique and very appealing to anyone wanting to feel at home on vacation. The folks at Sandpiper Vacation Rentals were fantastic to deal with, always answered when I called and were quick to offer advice and directions. I could not have had a better experience for this trip!

We stayed in Sandpiper during Spring Break this year with our 3 kids - ages 2, 8, and 11. The description of the cottage provided by Mark is accurate and, to our relief, so are the reviews. The cottage had everything we needed and it's location was perfect. It was close enough to the beach that our 2 year old could walk on his own (because he's a "big boy", you know...) and it's proximity to town center was just right for our family - an easy walk but far enough away to avoid the 'tweener' throngs that mobbed the center. Sandpiper is small and cozy, so it truly is a "cottage" However, for our family of 5 it worked very well for a few reasons. (1) It's Seaside in March (70 degrees every day) and no one really cared about staying inside, (2) it's well-thought out design includes two porches, so everyone can get a little space if they need it, and (3) we have a toddler who doesn't need a whole lot of space. A family of 5 with three teenagers might be pushing it, but for younger kids it worked well. The cottage itself had lots (awesome, btw!) of fresh bath towels and quality dishware. The appliances were high quality, and we used the washer and dryer just about every day. The outside shower was preferred by the kids once we discovered it and plenty of beach toys were provided. Unfortunately for us, we didn't look hard enough for the beach toys until after we dropped some coin locally. (Free tip for you: they are stored outside the house, around the back on the side you have no reason to visit except to get the toys!) The key lockbox was very convenient as well - we never worried about losing the key because we simply locked it up every time we left the house. A small thing, but we used it daily. As for the vacation in Seaside, it was the first family vacation we've taken in years that was relaxing enough to call a true 'vacation'. The simple pleasures of playing in the sand and the waves occupied our children for hours every day. The fact that we could walk or ride bikes anywhere we wanted to go made it almost a car-less vacation. Yes, stuff is pricier in Seaside than in your hometown. But you probably didn't come to Seaside because your hometown is on a beautiful beach, built like an early 20th-century village (with hidden pathways through-out), and far enough from the city that you can enjoy a glass of wine under the bright stars before falling asleep to the sound of the surf. Considering the kids were with us too, THAT is a vacation!

This is the first time we rented a house in Seaside. The Sandpiper is hidden in an alley off Savannah Street, and it seems first to be small, but the place is really well thought of, and it was plenty of space for our family (2 adults and 2 children). The kids love their room with bunk bed. The top bunk is slightly close to the ceiling, and someone may feel claustrophobic sleeping up there. We were in Seaside for 30 A songwriters festival and we were so thankful for the cd player in the living room. We played lots of new music that we bought from the record store on the square. One downside is all the sand on the alley and streets on Seaside.. I can only imagine if we have come in the summer and had gone to the beach every day, that we would have sand all over the floor of the house all the time. It is so easy to check in and out, much easier than a hotel!

House was in a super location and a very easy walk to the beach and the town of Seaside. House is very comfortable for a family of four, it has a remarkably large kitchen and bathroom upstairs and a perfect bunk room for the kids. We had a great week and will request this cottage again on future trips.
