Wiley’s Place is a jewel of a mountain cabin located just minutes from the crown jewel of the Appalachian Trail: Max Patch Mountain in Pisgah National Forest. If you're looking to get off the beaten path and experience the serene beauty of a remote mountain vacation this four-bedroom, 1.5-bath vacation home on the Tennessee-North Carolina state line is for you.
Wiley's Place is situated at an elevation of more than 4,100 feet just northeast of Great Smoky Mountains National Park where the summers are cool, the winters are snowy, and the evening sky is filled with stars unobstructed by city lights. Remote but comfortable, this nearly new cottage features huge picture windows, a 450 square-foot deck, a 300 square-foot covered porch, a five-seat hot tub, and all the amenities, including high-speed WiFi internet, satellite TV, DVD player, washer and dryer, and linens. With convenient access to the Appalachian Trail and close to Max Patch Mountain, guests enjoy an endless variety of Smoky Mountain vistas, hiking, fishing, rafting and plenty of other outdoor activities.
What's more, the quaint towns of Waynesville, NC with it's artsy downtown and Maggie Valley, NC with lots of fun for the whole family are both about an hour away. And Asheville, NC and the fabulous Biltmore House are just a little further, about a 1.25 hours drive. Wiley's Place has it all: remote mountain living for those seeking peace and quiet, and some of the best attractions in western North Carolina within easy reach. We hope to have you as our guest!

Seeing we absolutely love this home.......the amazing views........sense of peace.......we decided we would bring our immediate family and have our wedding on the deck at sunset! It was very informal but very special to us. The owners are such wonderful folks and we certainly enjoy having them close by to check on any needs we may have. The home has everything you will need in amenities, very clean and well maintained.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

This was our fourth year staying at Wileys place for a week in August to get out of the Florida heat! We love this place so much we really don't want you to find it. But if you do please don't book in August!!! No joke, this place has it all, if you love to hike, sit and read, or bring the family for some real time together. There is wildlife to see, even a wandering elk! The owners make you feel right at home. They are both avid hikers, and have such interesting hobbies. One is a woodworker, the other an appalathian mountain photographer. There are vistas are all around the cabin. Max Patch bald is worth the walk up to see the sunset. Just take it from me, go! But not in August. Hee Hee. .Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Beautiful spot on the crest of the mountains, with gorgeous views back to the Smokies from the deck and hot tub. Be prepared to really get a way from it all here - 30 minutes to any paved road, another 30 minutes to any sort of services, no cell phone coverage, but relaxation, quiet, and solitude in great abundance. We brought our dog and two girls (age 6 months and 3 years) and had a blast of a week. Highly highly recommended, we will be back again! TIP: Grocery shop before you arrive, or else be prepared for at least 2 hours round trip to get provisions.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

You will not find a better place to spend a week in the southern Appalachians than Wiley's Place. The panoramic views of the mountains are outstanding.
