Deep in the shadow of the Continental Divide, situated at the western end of the historic Moffat Tunnel, discover the secret we call the Zephyr Way 'of life'. The Zephyr Way is about escaping from the real world to the rocky mountain fantasyland of your choice. Most travelers recognize Winter Park for its more obvious attributes – traditional mountain vacation amenities where everyone is a preferred guest. While it is difficult to find fault in such an unassuming, peaceful public image, we suggest you explore what we consider to be the finer points of a Winter Park escape.
Finer point #1: Vacationing the Zephyr Way begins with deciding on a home base. Our luxury one bedroom condo at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge, Winter Park’s marquee ski-in/ski-out complex, is not only a perfect choice but also one of a kind. Why?
1) Location – ski-in/ski-out at the base of the Winter Park Resort, walk to … the lift, the clothing stores, the base restaurant, Starbucks, the rental shop, the ticket counter, the Alpine slide, the climbing wall and the concert stage
2) Zephyr Mountain Lodge – premier complex in Winter Park, front desk and lobby, outdoor hot tubs, fitness center, underground parking, private ski locker.
3) Your Condo – slope facing views (west) and Moffat tunnel views (north), largest square footage for 1BR in complex, unique layout that separates bedroom from living area with sofa bed, fourth floor / end unit, vaulted ceilings in bedroom (no one above you), kitchen with all appliances, cable TV, gas fire place.
With this as your resting place, you will be well-equipped and well-positioned to take on the other finer points to your Zephyr Way vacation.
Finer point #2 – Snow and Ski Terrain. As you may know, Winter Park offers diverse terrain for all types of skiers and snowboarders. Now under the direction of Intrawest Resorts, new lifts are scheduled for construction and the terrain park is already growing in size and features. For locals, Mary Jane is the jewel of Winter Park. Mary Jane is, for the most part, an un-groomed section of mountains directly adjacent to Winter Park. Hands down, Mary Jane offers the best mogul skiing in the world. The better half of the owner-couple skis on the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team and recommends mogul skiing at the Jane far above France, Italy, Japan, and Switzerland. Her favorite run is Phantom’s Bridge. Needle’s Eye is a close second. For an extra fee, you may be able to sign up for a one-on-one bump lesson if your vacation does not conflict with the World Cup tour.
The other finer points of Mary Jane include the “mushroom patch”, the “living room”, the chutes, and enough tree skiing to fill up a few days. The point here is that if your group represents a variety of skiing interests and/or skill levels, Winter Park / Mary Jane will ensure that everyone is ready for a good night’s sleep. And, with well over 400 inches of average snow fall per year, you are more likely to experience this heavenly terrain on a powder day then many of your fellow skiers who fall prey to the overly optimistic snow reports at other resorts (actually better known for their snow-making than their snow-measuring abilities).
Finer point #3 – Sun and Bike Terrain. The Winter Park / Fraser Valley is an undiscovered biking paradise. Your Zephyr unit provides an ideal starting point for exploring the hundreds of trail miles on both the east and west sides of the valley. Take the Zephyr lift to the top of the mountain and ride down Icarus or take the Tracks trail north into the valley and explore Sunset Pink, Creekside or Tipperary. Scheduled biking events provide a more structured biking weekend. For the road-biker in the group, set out for Rocky Mountain National Park and experience the pain (4,000 feet up) and reward (going back down) of Trail Ridge Road. Perhaps, the best summer example of living the Zephyr Way is morning rides followed by an afternoon music festival well within sight of your condo. Walk on over to the stage, sleep off the morning ride on the grassy slope and enjoy the mountain setting.
Finer point #4 – Winter Park Village. Intrawest has completed designs for a resort “that reflects the grit of ranching, the raw power or railroading, and the adrenalin jolts of Colorado’s oldest ski mountain still in operation.” Village contruction is underway with completed venues expected for '09/'10 season.
Finer point #5 – Shop Smart. By reading this listing, you have already demonstrated an interest in value. Contracting directly with us for this place at the Zephyr will save you about 25-50% off of the retail or list rate for a comparable unit.
Act now and reward yourself with the thrill of the mountain and the luxury of the Zephyr Mountain Lodge.

This unit at the Zephyr is everything its advertised to be. End unit with more sq ft than a lot of the comparable 1 bedrooms.. Very clean, Great view of the slopes/Zephyr lift. The hardwood floors are a very nice touch that a lot of the other units don't have. For the money/amenities, this was the best deal on a ski-in/ski-out unit we could find. Will book again!

This perfect condo contributed to one of our best family vacation ever. Our family of 4 was extremely comfortable, the condo is incredibly located right across the chair lift, spacious, modern and provided everything we needed. The hot tub and the fireplace were our favorites. And the owners are delightful. We highly recommend this place!

This condo was perfect for us. The updated wood floors and decor made the condo an enjoyable retreat after a great day on the slopes. The owners provided wonderful bed coverings and throws and even the sofa sleeper was comfortable thanks to the down covering on the mattress. the room is located at the end of the hallway, so there is no elevator noise and no one walking past the room making noise. we loved the hot tubs outside, which were especially enjoyable in the snow. we appreciated the provision of a parking pass to enjoy the heated garage and the ski locker access was a great bonus. the extra room in this larger unit allowed plenty of space for our belongings. Thanks, Mike, for providing a great condo with an amazing view of the slopes! We were able to call another member of our party from the top of Lower Hughes and wave as they watched us (from the comfort of the condo) descend down the slope.

I just returned from Winter Park for New Years. I have stayed at the Zephyr many times and this unit is the best outfitted and has the best view of all of my other experiences. This unit has been upgraded and has many little things that make it special. The owner worked hard to make sure that our visit was as good as it could be. I will stay here on my next visit to Winter Park.

This condo is perfect! It's just as described. It is very roomy, plenty of space to store your luggage. View out to the slope is great. Location in the village is very convenient. Can't think of anything we didn't like about this condo. The owner was also a pleasure to work with on our last minute vacation.
