I would recommend anyone that wants to stay on the Lake stay here. Ann is so very helpful, and is WILLING TO DO ANYTHING, to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The house itself is magnificent, and so are all the surroundings that go with it. The carriage house is very upscale and unique, making it one of a kind for the area. The furnishing inside the carriage house is beautiful, and you will not be disappointed with the cleanliness of the home either. The house if located on a quiet, no wake zone, and most of the time it felt like the lake was all ours! Thanks again Ann for all you did!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our family of 7, spanning 3 generations from ages 68 years old down to 8 years old) stayed at this wonderful property for a week during the second part of our two week annual road trip. It was so wonderful. First of all, the property itself is lovely. Three acres of manicured grounds with beautiful views and wonderful spots to take in the sights...for example, the gazebo next to the pool is furnished with comfortable outdoor furniture where you can look out at the lake or at the planters full of flowers surrounding the turquoise blue pool. Although the temperatures exceeded 100 degrees almost every day of our visit, there was always a breeze to keep outdoor activities more comfortable. During our stay, the pier was taken down and moved closer to the house. The kids, ages 15, 12, & 8 had fun jumping off into the bath-warm lake water....there was no ladder to climb back out (which may simply have not been installed yet) which made getting out tricky (be advised if you are not young, lithe and strong of upper body!) There is a small beach down the walkway where the 12 & 8 year old had a wonderful time scooping up minnows with nets and plastic cups. My husband and the kids spent hours fishing all along the frontage....catching mostly sunfish and catfish to throw back....but the sheer number of fish they caught was impressive. My 8 year old son would literally drop his hook into the water and immediately get a bite. We swam every day in the pool and even went into the hot tub once or twice, despite the extreme heat. The pool is very nice and it was great to have it all to ourselves. There is a caretaker on the property a lot of the time (it's a big job!) and he could not have been more pleasant and helpful, turning on the outdoor fan for us, cleaning the pool, answering questions, etc. There is plenty of room for parking & the neighborhood and location is terrific. The carriage house itself is quaint & quirky, complete w an underground tunnel leading to an extra bedroom. The beds are comfortable, the linens and storage areas plentiful & of good quality. We were all impressed with the furniture which was practical and obviously high quality. Lots of details from thick oriental carpets to pretty paintings on the walls. Finally, the owners could not have been nicer! Very responsive when needed, but also really personable & welcoming and just...nice. We all left feeling that we'd had a great experience and that we would recommend it to anyone! Thank you so much!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Our son, daughter-in-law, 11 month old grandson and daughter enjoyed our vacation together in this exceptional property. We relaxed and relaxed and relaxed. The pool area is terrific. The private dock and beach area are wonderful. This is a quite well appointed place. An additional bathroom would have made it nearly perfect, as would HD TV (the large screen is hard to view and listen to), but those things are minor since thiis place was simply terrific. We hope to go back next year. THANK YOU!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

There were 4 of us that stayed here and we had the best time! If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay with more bang for your buck, this is it! I agree with the other person who wrote a review in saying that an additional 1/2 bath would have been my only negative. This was by far the best house on the lake! We visited the Shawnee National Park and toured the Garden of the Gods....AMAZING! The marina had a very welcoming atmosphere as well. Everyone was just so nice.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We stayed at this property for 4 days. We rented a pontoon boat one of those days and saw the entire lake ( about 90 miles of shoreline) and this house is the most impressive by far. We noticed when hanging out in the pool at different times, that all the boaters passing by, thought so as well. The carriage house was enough room for the 5 of us, (two couples and a 15 year old on the pullout), but could have used an extra bathroom or 1/2 bath. We went to Giant City Lodge for dinner one of the night, don't miss this place for family style chicken dinners. Did a few winerys, which was fun too. But the most fun was hanging out at the in ground pool with some cocktails.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We had a great stay in the carriage house, using all the exterior facilities of the main house and the lake. We arranged our stay from England without any difficulty and found the owner very courteous. The bedrooms were a little smaller than we expected, but that did not detract too much from what was overall an excellent vacation experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

The pictures do not do this house justice! We just returned from our week long vacation, and we didn't want to leave! This house is unbelieveable! From the fully equipped kitchen to the comfortable living areas, you will feel like you are right at home. The deck area is amazing. Our family spent the majority of our time either in the pool or enjoying the scenic view of the lake. We tried a couple of the wineries, and we especially loved Blue Sky. As for dining, we really enjoyed 17th St. Bar and Grill- the best barbecue ribs and chicken we've had! We had the privilege of meeting the owners, and they are so kind. Our 2 year old will tell you he met his best friend when he met one of the owners! Great vacation- we can't wait to return next year. Thanks for such a great vacation!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
