Well-maintained lake front property on Lake of Egypt. Watch the boats from the covered deck. Enjoy the lake with a two boat slip covered dock. Fish and swim right off your dock. In the evening, roast some marshmallows in the fire pit with an amazing view of the lake. Inside, enjoy a huge sun room with gas fireplace and open/eat in kitchen. The property boasts a whopping 155 feet of rip/rap shoreline. Experience lake life at its finest as you relax and enjoy the fantastic views from your deck or sun room. Three marinas service the lake, with live entertainment for you to drop anchor and enjoy. Located near the wine trails and several state parks, it truly is a vacationer's dream. Come see the view and experience the fishing, swimming, boating, and relaxing in this awesome home.

There are two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, one bedroom with twin/full bunk beds as well as a trundle, and a pullout couch with a full-size bed. Air mattresses are welcome (but please do not exceed 10 people).

Additionally, there is a blacktop, horseshoe driveway!

We had a wonderful stay! The house was very clean, had a great layout for our group, and the kids absolutely loved having the kayaks, noodles, and lily pad available to use. It was a great value, and we’d definitely stay again! We also highly recommend the nearby Fern Cliff State Park and waterfall hike, it was beautiful!

The house was amazing. Super clean and well stocked with everything we could possibly need. The dock was also great. Super nice to be able to park our boat and jets skis at the house for our trip. Will 100% be renting this house again next year for our yearly trip to Lake Egypt.

Heather and Jeff are the most gracious hosts! Their place is clean and well equipped, and the dock offers awesome swimming and the convenience of a place to put our boat. The view of the lake from the great room is so wonderful to enjoy over my morning coffee and wine at sunset. This was our second stay, and we will be back!

Jeff and Heather were amazing. Communication was top notch. Never waited for an answer on anything. The house was absolutely darling and had all the kitchen essentials you will need to whip up some meals there. The lake was beautiful especially at sunrise!!! We took the boat out one day and the lake has plenty of distance to play around. The kids had a few days down at the dock and enjoyed the lake toys Jeff and Heather have there. They also fished off the dock and those little suckers are hungry. We will definitely return!!!!

We had so much fun. The cabin was clean, roomy and had kayaks for us to use. Perfect for our teenage kids. Close to all the parks and hiking but you dont even need to leave theres so much to do just at the cabin.

We had a great stay on the lake at this house. It is located at a great spot on the lake for easy access to some great fishing. The dock is set up well for swimming or tying up a boat for the week. Thanks for letting us stay!!

After living in this beautiful home for 17 years, we decided to move down the lake to be closer to family but could not part with this beautiful lakeside retreat. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and we wanted to give other people the experience of lake life and encourage their inner adventurer to explore all that beautiful Southern Illinois has to offer. Fishing, boating, swimming, camp fires, wineries, hiking and most importantly, relaxation await you.

Why they chose this property

I am originally from Minnesota and my husband is from Wisconsin. We grew up in the outdoors hiking, camping, fishing and spending time in wild areas.We met while we both were attending Southern Illinois University (SIU) and fell in love with the area. The friendly people, beautiful forests, lakes and unique outdoors opportunities made this an ideal environment to raise a family. Southern Illinois is truly a hidden gem and well worth spending some time exploring.

What makes this property unique

The views rock! Whether sitting on the lower deck, dock, by the fire pit or in the open living area, the relaxing views are worth it .

My favorite part beside the view is the great fishing! Large mouth bass, catfish, bluegill and especially crappie are found in Lake of Egypt. Crab Orchard, Cedar, and Little Grassy lakes hold the same species. Kincaid lake has muskies, and Devils Kitchen has rainbow trout. This area has a bit of everything for the fisherman in you.

I like to enjoy my morning coffee in the sun room and a local glass or two of wine or beer on the porch in the evenings. We love to take slow evening cruises in the pontoon to see music or get some food at one of the marinas.

Our 14-year-old loves to swim and look for clams and fish during the day and making s'mores on the campfire at night. Kayaking and swimming off the dock are also high on his list.
