My family and I had an amazing time on the Big Island. We loved staying at this home--it was big and spacious, with lots of gathering areas and a great enclosed pool and bbq area. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom, patios, and privacy. We used all the extra fridges, microwaves, and loved having an additional kitchen as well. Even with 14 of us, there was plenty of room, beds, and options for where we could stay or hang out. During the day, it was great to walk to Magic Sands, which was only about a 5 minute walk if we went slow. The kids loved having the boogie boards to take out whenever they wanted, as well as the extra snorkel equipment for the other nearby beach. My son and daughter-in-law used the 2 man kayak and saw lots of dolphins! There was something for everyone. We had a boisterous but respectful group, and had no issues with neighbors or complaints. In fact, one of the neighbors was very helpful with some tips when we saw him walking and asked about some nearby dining spots. Kenichi's was a great recommendation. Tina and Carol were always available as well whenever we had questions. We had a great time, and we think that you would too! Betty C

The home was perfect for us all. Mom and Dad had separate living quarters away from toddlers, yet we could all get together for meals. It's just a short drive (or walk) to the beach-and you know how children are AFTER the beach - cranky! so getting them home and napping was easy. We met some very nice neighbors while strollering our kids in the neighborhood for our early morning jog. It is just as the advertisement says. Very clean! thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

The perfect vacation house for our large family or group. We would definately come back!

Our group consisted of 6 adults & 6 kids (2-10 yr olds, 9, 8, 7, 1), ....this house was perfect for us. We had our own space yet could all be together at times. We couldn't keep the kids out of the pool even though it's only a short walk to the beach. The house ws very clean. The neighborhood is quiet at night (you could hear the ocean waves). We were not worried about letting the kids play in the yard or circular driveway, because it's very private. We really enjoyed breakfasts on the enclosed lanai off the main kitchen. It was all it is advertised to be.....we were very happy with our choice and had a wonderful spring break.

If you don't go to bed early ... don't stay here!!!

Everything about this property was great ... with one HUGE exception!!! It is in a neighborhood with locals living all around. Most of the homes have no glass on the windows, therefore noise travels. We were in Kona on vacation with 14 adults and were hanging out at the place most evenings enjoying each other's company. Apparently we were disturbing the neighbors after 9:00 PM with our talking, laughing and playing games. None of the neighbors ever approached us ... but they did complain to the property manager ... and even called the police (who actually apologized that they had to come, said we were not breaking any laws, but gently suggested we quiet down). This certainly put a damper on our vacation!! So sad, as we had NO idea!! Do NOT stay here if you don't go to bed early!!!

Owner response:We did speak to the neighbors who had to call the police, and they only did so because it was four straight nights of late partying (the stay was during Ironman). We've since made a policy that they have the property manager speak to the guests first. These beach houses are in a family neighborhood and are built island-style with lots of windows to allow the breezes in. Normal noise is totally accepted, but 'partying' continually can be disturbing to families with children. There are many vacation rentals in the area, and common sense and respect is all that is needed for everyone to have a good time and enjoy our island lifestyle.

We LOVED this house! So much space, plenty of room for all 11 of us(6 adults, 5 kids ages 4-15) to spread out and have our own space. Location is excellent. Easy walk down to a great boogie-boarding beach, quick 3 minute drive to the best snorkeling spot, and an easy 5 minute drive to the center of town. House was unfortunately, not very clean when we arrived, especially one of the master bedrooms: geckos had taken up residence & left a huge mess! Bummer to start vacation by stripping the bed, doing laundry, and scrubbing the floor. Management was quick to respond the next morning and did the really nasty cleaning on the private deck. Yuck! Watch out for the next door neighbor; she's cranky & not afraid to let you know she doesn't like living next to a rental. We did our best to keep 2 little boys quiet when they got up early(time change), and we were all in bed early, but apparently that wasn't enough for her. Dirty looks, unkind gestures, and yelling at 12 yr olds seemed to be her way of dealing with us. Not a good enough reason to miss out on this house, but just be forewarned! This is a great house for multiple families; privacy for everyone, but big common spaces to be together. Pool was fun for the younger kids and there was plenty of beach towels, 5 boogie boards, and a handful of masks/snorkels. We had a fantastic vacation & this house was a HUGE part of making this such a great trip!

Perfect Vacation Location

This property was perfect for our needs - 11 of us, 4 of whom were teenagers/young adults. The property was exactly as described and listed and the photos accurate. We had privacy when desired and plenty of "together" space. Proximity to Magic Sands Beach was a big plus and the boogie boards, towels and coolers made the short walk there easy for all. The view of the sunsets from the lanai were fabulous. Any questions were readily addressed and I would recommend this property to anyone. It was a wonderful week.

Awesome house, better than expected. We have been coming to Kona for 20 yrs now and this was the best accomodations to date. Great location to beach, five minute walk. House is huge and very comfortable, felt like home away from home. Nice neighbors as well. We will come back!!

We couldn't have hoped for a better experience. The owner thought of everything for our comfort...beach towels and toys, snokeling gear, cooking tools...all the little amenities on top of the most lovely of accomodations. The neighborhood is quiet, and the house was well maintained and very clean...it is everything the web site says it is!

We stayed at the White House of Kona the first week of August and loved it. We had 3 couples and 3 teenagers. Everyone was thrilled to get their own room and bathroom! The house was perfect for a large group. Everyone had plenty of privacy but we had plenty of gathering space as well. The best part was the closeness of Magic Sands beach which was about a 5 minute walk away. We would just grab the house supplied boogie boards and head down. Great boogie boarding, swimming and snorkling with turtles swimming around you. We were there almost every morning and evening. A wonderfully relaxing vacation.

My family and some of our friends vacationed in Kona and stayed at this beautiful house. We had 6 adults, 2 teenagers and 4 kids. There was plenty of room for all of us and we had such a great time. The house itself is beautiful. It has 2 kitchens which makes cooking easy and a BBQ out on the deck. There is a beautiful lanai upstairs where we gathered every night to watch the sunset. The living room has a huge sofa the curves around the room allowing us all to hang out together after enjoying our days at the beach. The house is in a great location, only a few miles from the main town, only 1 1/2 blocks from one awesome beach and 3 blocks from an incredible snorkeling beach. We can't wait for our next trip to Kona and will definitely stay here when we go.
