Sandpiper’s Nook: HHI SC Island 6 bedroom oceanfront compound. The $660,000 addition and complete remodel of this 100-foot oceanfront home in Q1 2009 has turned it into a vacation paradise & private family compound. It has the largest pool in the area (17 feet by 44 feet), a deepened spa and the new ‘SeaScape’ outdoor living room sits poolside under the deck/house for a shaded living area. Wake up to the sunrise over the water from all bedrooms, enjoy the dolphins from the elevated deck, use the private access to the beach, dine on the deck with the transparent cable fence and feel the weight of the world slip away. This executive home main level is 22 feet above sea level with 4 bedrooms @30 feet and thus has spectacular views from every room. Every one of the 6 bedrooms has an ocean view & has been newly remodeled to an individual theme. Whether you choose the Nautical or Nautilus Room, the SeaShell, the Coral, Reef, or the Sand Dollar, you will enjoy premium beds & amenities. We’ve worked to fulfill your every desire: from wine frig to ice maker to DVR, DVDs, large plasma TVs, high speed wireless & high end cable, electronic charging stations, state-of-art appliances, video library, restaurant guide, places to read & relax in every room. This is what the perfect vacation home should be.
Bedrooms: All have Ocean views, large plasma TVs and DVD players. The two master suites (Seashells main floor and Nautilus on second) have 1 king, a large bath, tub, shower, walk-in closets & killer ocean views. Sand Dollar has two queens, bath with private commode, large shower with skylight and a killer ocean view. The Reef Room has a queen + twin with trundle, large shower, walk in closet & spectacular ocean view. The recently completed addition includes the Nautical room which has 1 king, a tri-bunk and a bunk bed (5 twins total), a desk top/work area, a bath with tub/shower and separate room with 2 sinks, walk in closet, charging station for electronics and ocean view. The new Coral room has 2 kings; shower with 2 seats, double sinks, recharging station for electronics and ocean view. All bedrooms have private baths. The bathrooms in the new addition feature comfort height toilets with quiet close toilet seats, heaters in the ceiling along with nightlights and fans, Instant Hot water system so you can't run out.
The pool is huge (& in the sun all day), the deepened hot tub seats 8-11 and both have ocean views. Under the house/deck is the SeaScape living room, a covered travertine lanai with two seating areas, fans and lights: an area for shade lovers who want to sit near the pool. The private, fenced ocean front yard is very large (100 feet wide), with private beach access and a large lawn for badminton, croquet or bocce and a poolside patio; there's a gated deck on the back of the house, and a fenced yard. There are outdoor foot and full showers. There is a fenced sandbox area to contain toddlers, and a gate to keep them on the deck. (The deck is 22 feet above sea level; new railing is cable so that the view is an unimpeded panorama.)...this property is gorgeous.
The gourmet kitchen features granite countertops, a Thermidor stove, Bosch dishwasher, LG frig and other high-end appliances including an ice machine and wine cooler. There is a kitchen eating area, bar eating area and large dining room.
There is an elevator for arrival and departure day (that can be made available week long if you have a person who needs it), a first and second floor laundry (Whirlpool's new steam washer/dryer upstairs).
The house has safety features: security and fire-monitored system, smoke alarms in every bedroom, fire extinguishers upstairs and down. If you have a medical emergency, there is a medical alert button on the alarm system. There is also a police and a fire button.
The Heating and Air conditioning has 4 separate climate controls, there are 3 hot water systems, and 9 fans, There is a laundry on each level upstairs features Whirlpools latest steam washer and dryer.
The Amenities:
Owner stocks easily forgotten items for your convenience, cleaning crew leaves all paper products, cleaning products, unopened pop/soda and alcohol left by previous guest, to save you money.
We've just painted; have antique heart pine floors, a beautiful modern kitchen and huge deck. The new dining room table seats 10, the bar seats 4 and there are outdoor tables poolside: plenty of places for a family reunion, an anniversary celebration or even the ideal wedding (for an additional fee)
The electronics have been upgraded to all large plasma TVs (10 of them) and DVD (9) players. Every bedroom, the family room and the kitchen have plasmas. There is DVR service, high-end cable, a work desk, with a wireless printer with scan and fax capability, & a shredder. The house is newly equipped with a cell phone booster antenna so unlike most ocean front homes, this one gets good cell service.
Lots of Parking: the house parks 7 cars comfortably, 4 of them under the house where there is also lockable storage for your bikes and beach equipment.
There is a wood-burning fireplace…this is a dream get away - I even supply a welcome bottle of champagne.
The Landscaping is premier: planned for color year round, and scent in every season.
We've worked to make this a 'quiet' house, with noise control bumpers everywhere and half the toilet seats converted to ‘quiet close’ technology.

- Air Conditioning: 4 Air conditioning zones for personal choice on temperature, 9 fans to optimize comfort. Hunter Douglas wood shades in all rooms. AC out of sight and sound on a secluded deck.
- Washer: Two laundries: Maytag washer and dryer on main floor. 2nd Floor Laundry has latest Whirlpool steam technology washer and dryer & a large linen closet. Three separate hot water systems one of which is an "instant hot" no tank system to provide endless hot water.

- Off Street Parking: Very private - house sits off corner of 2 streets, so limits driveby. Can comfortably park 7 cars

- Wood Fireplace: Beautiful wood burning fireplace with large flat panel plasma TV above. Please make sure you open the damper!!!
- Elevator: Elevator services parking level, first floor (up 18 feet) and second floor if you have a physical need. Can be used by adults on arrival & departure day for luggage.

- King Bed (5) : King beds in each of two large master bedrooms, both with walk in closets. The SeaShell Room has a Jacuzzi tub & large shower. The Nautilus master has a tub as well as a shower. The Coral Room as 2 King beds and large shower. The Nautical room as 1 king, a tri-bed and a bunk bed with tub.
- Queen Bed (3) : The Sand Dollar bedroom has two queen beds with large bath, large Saturnia tile shower, separated sink from commode/shower & a skylight. Large counter tops in all baths. The Reef bedroom has one queen and a twin with trundle & also has a large shower. Both have walk in closets.
- Twin/Single Bed (7) : Queen plus twin trundle in the 'Reef' room. The 'Nautical Room' is a family sleeping room and has 1 king, 3 twins and one bunk bed set (basically 5 twins). It has a tub/shower combo, separate from the sink area. Walk in closet.
- Bunk Bed: The bunk bed is in the Nautical room (see twin listing above) in its own cubby, and each bed has its own TV/DVD on the foot of the bed. Large storage under
- Convertible Bed: Living room couch converts to a bed.
- Crib: I do not keep a crib on site, but Cribs can be ordered (will be there on arrival and will be picked up after) from www.pelicancruiser.com if you choose to order one.

- Private Pool: Huge pool (17' by 44') option to Heat. With this pool, you won't need to golf or play tennis, though both are nearby. Pool has ‘Virginia Graham Baker Act’ approved drains which few private pools have put in as they are not mandated.
- Kitchen
- Full Kitchen: Gourmet kitchen, Pull out shelving, double sink, granite counter tops, wine frig, ice maker and all the utensils you could want. Large ice make under counter in addition to frig ice maker.
- Cooking Utensils Provided: I live here 4 months per year, so the kitchen is well equipped from avocado slicer to lemon, orange and lime crushers.
- Refrigerator: Large and lovely. My home also has a wine refrigerator built under the bar and a large GE icemaker

- Catering Available: The house binder has contacts for how to order meals from many of the local restaurants and have them delivered to the house.

- Deck/Patio: Large brick patio surrounds pool with table/chairs, loungers etc. The SeaScape living room is next to the pool and has couches/chairs/lights/fans and shade for those who want it.
- Balcony: Large elevated deck with cable fence for an unimpeded view. View of the ocean from deck is one of the best on the Island with dolphins visible daily
- Lanai: Covered lanai under deck and back of house complete with 2 fans, hooks for hammocks and a pool side & ocean view, so those who want shade can have it.
- View/Location
- Beachfront: All bedrooms have ocean view, as does kitchen, dining room and family room. Deck and pool face ocean. Lovely outdoor furniture and tables. Private beach access. Yard has see through Nautical fences and gates to provide security.
- Communications
- Telephone: This house as a cell phone booster system and has a land line set up so that you can make long distance calls and tack your own expenses.
- Cell Phone: No cell phone provided but most homes on the ocean have poor cell phone reception. I have installed a mult-band cell phone booster system to provide superior service to most carriers. (Nextel may be an issue)
- Broadband Internet
- WiFi (Wireless Internet): Free WiFi. I have also provided a printer/scanner though you will have to buy ink if it runs dry. Can operate as fax if moved to be near a phone line

- Pet Friendly: You'll have to call me to discuss. Non refundable pet deposit of $600 to have rugs cleaned after all pet visits. This means I don't get many pets and have a very clean house.
- Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations): elevator being added in 09 to facilitate access for handicapped or elderly. Will serve all 6 bedrooms.
- Wheelchair Accessible (may have limitations): Elevator to all floors available for those who need it.
- Kid Friendly: gates at deck openings for saftey, large grassed yard, box of kid sand toys.
