Cabin is in a beautiful setting just as shown in pictures. Everything was clean and the cabin was well stocked. We enjoyed the hot tub and made a fire in the inside fireplace. We could not get the outside fireplace to work, however. We enjoyed meals at the Serenity Gardens and Harvest Restaurant in Blue Ridge and the food was very good. Be sure to get a cupcake at the Sweet Shop because they are delicious, the owners having won the Cupcake Wars competition. We also enjoyed a visit to a winery about 30 minutes drive away. I would recommend this property to anyone desiring a quiet getaway with nearby attractions.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Cabin is even more beautiful than pictures. Clean and comfortable. Nice having fire in fireplace but sometimes smoke came into house even though flue was open. Nice not having to bring dog kennel in car. They provide a large dog kennel along with toys and food bowls!! Our corgi was so excited and felt welcomed. Only suggestion is to have instruction notebook in cabin. Had to dig through emails to find instructions on departure day. Also had to google instructions for hot tub...didn't know what "EC" meant on panel or how to bypass in order to heat.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

As a family of 6 with 2 large dogs we found the cabin to be perfect for our needs. Close to hiking and horseback riding. It seemed very secluded but was close enough to town to meet our needs. Loved the interior and exterior of the cabin. It has a welcoming feeling to it. The kids loved the loft. We found it very pet friendly. We would recommend it for a long or a short stay. Cannot wait to visit again in warmer weather to try out the fishing and rafting.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

My husband, disabled 10 yr old son, 14yr old black lab and in laws went to the cabin for a R & R. It was perfect. The house is very dog friendly, which was a nice change! The cabin is perfect 2 families to have their own space. The creek can be heard with the windows and doors open, which was so calming. The owners were wonderful about answering all of our questions before we got there. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to just hang out.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, families with teenagers.

Our family had a great time at the cabin. Wonderful, quiet get away for us! Our boys, 12 & 13, really enjoyed being able to play outside in the woods around the cabin and do just a little wading in the stream (they have high rubber boots-so the cold didn't bother them). They was more than enough space for the 4 of us-technically another family could've easily shared the house with us. We took our Golden Retriever with us, and he really loved it as well! We'd definitely consider this as an option for our family again! There is truly no cell service at the cabin-which was totally fine for us, but if you must have access to your cell phone, it's good to know. The internet connection worked without issue, so that was very helpful. The directions were fine-we pulled into the wrong house at first, but only because we didn't go far enough up the road. The owner of the home where we stopped was very friendly and helped get us the rest of the way to the house. It was the perfect get away for us to unplug and have quality family time!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Acorn Trout Lodge is an AWESOME cabin!!! We had an amazing time , the house is beautiful! We enjoyed both fireplaces, jacuzzi , barbecue and fire pit! The beds were very comfortable! We were able to enjoy many outings that were fairly close to the house, we even went to Tennesse! Thank you for offering your amazing house to us! We are already planning to return and friends have also asked us about the cabin, so they can go too! Hope to visit again very soon!!!!! By the way the dogs loved the house too! Thank you for providing the crate!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We loved our stay at this cabin! We have been coming to Blue Ridge for 8 years and absolutely love the area. This year we wanted to stay some place new and definately found the right place. From the beginning, the owners were very personable and informative. This was not like dealing with an agent who manages many properties. I emailed them many questions about the cabin and the area (creek levels, etc...) and they always responded quickly. The price was fantastic - definately the best around VRBO and we received notice that our deposit was refunded within a week. The cabin was perfect. We stayed in the fall and used the outside fireplace, fire pit, and jacuzzi each day of our stay. They were all in perfect working condition and we had no issues. The king bed was very comfortable and overlooked the back deck - very romantic with the french doors open and the cool breeze and the creek in the background. The kids said the other beds were very comfortable as well and there was much privacy between sleeping areas. We cooked every meal there and used the grill, oven and the washer/dryer - everything was perfect! All in all this is a perfect cabin. It is very obvious this family enjoys sharing this beautiful place with others. We will most certainly be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
