My husband came down from the triangle for a quick two and a half day stay. We had such a great time that we're already planning our next trip! We loved the animals, especially feeding the horses and chickens. Your property is so convenient, just a short drive to Asheville and civilization.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

What a wonderful experience we had at the "Roundette"! I cannot speak more highly of the accommodations, the surroundings and Franks hospitality. First arriving to fresh baked bread, adorable chickens running around and fresh eggs was a delight! We spent most of our days in Asheville (very easy to get to) so coming back to a hot tub in the evenings was more than a welcome. We now are looking at a week this Summer/Fall so that we can actually enjoy the property more! I highly recommend any property that Frank has at Cove at Fairview! Just breathtaking!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed for a long weekend and to enjoy Asheville. Frank made it easy to arrange daily activities and relax in the house when that was our option. The cozy house with 2 person hot tub is just right for romantic getaways and easy travel to Asheville and Chimney Rock Park. Great destination! Thanks Frank!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We stumbled upon the Roundette while planning a weekend getaway and immediately knew it was where we wanted to stay. Frank was more than a gracious host, offering us fresh eggs and presenting us with freshly baked bread courtesy of his daughter. The house itself was perfect. Cozy, warm and inviting. The hot tub was delightful and the fire chiminea offered the perfect place to settle with glass of wine in hand while looking at the stars. Both chickens and the sweet black/white cat kept us company while we milled around the area, taking in the waterfall and pond. We had planned on a night out in Asheville, but we were so comfortable and in love with our surroundings we opted to stay in. We did travel to town for a late lunch, which was easily accessible from the cabin. I've definitely recommended this cabin to friends and we have already discussed going back! We couldn't have been more pleased! Thank you Frank!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Our stay at the "My Roundette" cottage was very enjoyable. The entire experience was a wonderful treat for my finace' and I. The Cove at Fairview is really well centrally located between Downtown Asheville and Chimney Rock (~ 20min East of Downtown and ~25min west of Chimney Rock). We were lucky enough to be able to visit the Biltmore for the Christmas Candlelight display which was very nice, and only 20min away from the cottage as well. Every morning we would pick fresh eggs from the chicken coop, which were very delicious! They also had a fresh loaf of bread ready in the breadmaker when we arrived, and Frank picked up some roses per my request for a very reasonable charge. My fiance really enjoyed feeding the horses carrots and the local cats that roam around the cottage were pretty adorable. In the morning I would step out on the porch to see the horses, chickens roaming, and the cats relaxing. It really had a neat country feel to it. There are a couple small man-made waterfalls right next to the cottage, which sounds very soothing in the morning accompanied with the beautiful mountain views. Just a few hundred feet away is the 'Koi Falls', which was also a very well done man-made waterfall/small fish pond/relaxing area. They really did a great job with this area, and you could easily be fooled that it is naturally and not man-made. We plan on making this a vacation spot for years to come now! I highly recommend visiting: Biltmore Estate (plan on spending a good portion of a day here), Chimney Rock (Old Rock Cafe' was surprisingly delicious and the only place near Chimney you can get a beer as the whole surrounding area is a dry county), DuPont State Park (High Falls was very neat), and Downtown Asheville (Tupelo Honey Cafe was our favorite).Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Wow. What a place! We live at the beach and wanted to go to the mountains for our honeymoon! We got on the road late and didn't get to the Roundette until around 12am so didn't get a chance to check things out until the following morning. We were so pleased with this choice. I LOVE animals, so to be around them the whole stay was a delight. From the cats (especially the one who lived on our back porch) to the chickens and the horses, it was wonderful! The studio was perfect for us as we were always together, nothing separated us, so even if I was making coffee and he was getting ready, we could always converse! You can watch the TV perfectly from bed too! This location is SERIOUSLY perfect to everything we wanted to do. No more than a 20 minute drive, again, we are from Florida and were NOT used to driving on mountain roads LOL, to everything we wanted to do which included; Biltmore Estates, Grove Park Spa (very snazzy!), Chimney Rock, Rattlesnake Rock (on your way to Chimney Rock, you'll pass it on the left, has a rock chimney out front for a landmark, kinda ironic huh?) Worlds Edge (we typed 300 World Edge, Hendersonville, NC into the GPS, drive until you dead end, take the trail to the left) this was a VERY easy WALK to the most spectacular view, they say you can see to South Carolina! World's Edge was probably more like 30-40 minutes, not too sure, we got lost because we initially type in 1 World Edge, balh blah into the GPS. We stopped at Troyers, which happened to be on my "to do" list and was literally 5 minutes away. We enjoyed some delicious deli sandwiches (deli sandwich lover here!!) and bought a bunch of jams and some bread! We also enjoyed Zambra's for some tapas, Starda's for Italian Food and Early Girl Eatery for some breakfast, yummm!!! All in all, it was a perfect stay! I'm glad Frank told us about driving up the hill from the house as it was an intense fun drive up the mountain. I was fortunate he gave us a heads-up that our breaks may smoke, because yes, they did and I was rather uneasy at first!! Also-I HIGHLLLYY recommend you go sit on the bench on the hill by the "Farm" area if you will. The view is OUTSTANDING- don't look until you sit down on the bench, and then take in that killer view! I got an awesome panoramic view!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2002
About the owner: I retired from Unilever in ’04 after a 33 year career in sales management/marketing. We relocated from Atlanta to Asheville since my wife and I were both from North Carolina and we fell in love with this area. We started with Unilever in Greenville, NC and lived in Charlotte, NC. Richmond , VA. Annapolis, MD. Yardley, PA. and New York before we landed in Atlanta for 13 years. We have two daughters- Etta and Farris.
Why the Owner Chose Asheville:
We bought this property because of the beauty of the area! When we purchased the property it had “Our House” and “My Roundette”. We added 16 acres adjoining to the 8 that was originally purchased. We renovated both the houses using old wood from barns we acquired in the area, wormy chestnut and oak mostly. In 06’ we decided to build another house higher up on the mountain and share “Our House” with others thru vacation rental. Our company, The Cove at Fairview, was started in early 07’. In the fall of 08’ we began renting “My Roundette” that became available when our youngest daughter married and then purchased a house close by. The company was started by the desire to have both daughters remain in this area working with us, therefore we became a family business!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
A few of the benefit of staying at “The Cove at Fairview” properties are as follows:
• Homes utilizing reclaimed wood both with walls/trim.
• Comfortable beds featuring Egyptian cotton linens.
• Handmade furniture from reclaimed wormy chestnut wood.
• Fully equipped kitchens with gas and charcoal grills.
• Waterfalls with Koi fish in three small ponds with picnic tables, a hammock, and a swing to enjoy relaxing outside.
• Animals- Horses, Chickens, and cats are in our barn area for visiting and enjoying.
• Fresh eggs are made available to our guest as well as homemade bread.
• Being able to use all the amenities of one of the areas most exclusive private country clubs- including golf, tennis, swimming, dinning, as well as meeting facilities.
Our guest say a huge benefit is the peacefulness of the property- the majority leave refreshed from their vacation. Being located within close proximity of all the Asheville and Western North Carolina attractions provides visitors with many choices.
