The Royal Roost is nestled at the bases of spectacular Mountains Rosalie and Logan, in Pike National Forest. Our nest in the woods is the last piece of property that attaches to this majestic national forest for thousands of acres, and they are all there waiting for you to explore!!! Meandering Camp Creek runs through year round, so your morning coffee and the world renowned breakfast can be enjoyed on the deck to the sounds of nature.
A perfect "nesting" spot for honeymooners: hikers, snowshoers, or anyone who really needs to decompress in the utmost of privacy. The Royal Roost is located behind a locked national forest gate, only accessible by the property owners. While providing privacy, we have also kept the conveniences of home if you want them, tv, phone, full kitchen to prepare hearty meals for your big hikes, etc.
The Royal Roost has been host to many bird watchers, photographers and budding nature lovers. The possibilities to spot wildlife are endless. Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep, Elk, Deer and Red Tail Hawks are frequently seen on the drive to the Royal Ranch and Roost. Coyote, Fox, Squirrels and a wide variety of birds are abundant visitors at the cabin.
If fishing is your "game", we can provide! Spectacular Roosevelt Lakes are an approx. 3 hour hike if you're into high altitude fishing. We also have private access (for an extra charge, with additional reservation required) to fly fishing that has been written about in the Rocky Mtn Angler! Hunting is a great time to visit us as well, Colorado Division of Wildlife license required.
The Royal Ranch offers a unique vacation experience. A visitor is welcome to sit back and enjoy their stay at the rustic Royal Roost, or join us on a Royal Llama Adventure! (Additional reservation and fee required.) Our goal is to make your stay one that you will never forget!
The Royal Ranch and its subsidiaries are firm believers in the "green movement". Along with doing our part to reduce, reuse and recycle, llamas are very low impact on the forest, and have also helped us with many of our organic ventures. We also believe strongly that part of this "movement" should be to give back to those who have given so much to us. So, for each night stayed at The Royal Roost, $5 will be given to either Colorado Llama Rescue or Mile High Great Pyrenees Club of America, vacationer's choice.
