Smoky Mountain Log Cabin #5 offers a beautiful retreat year round amid in the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains where you can unwind in the clean air and panoramic views.
When most people talk about building a log cabin, they plan to use a "log kit" of pre-milled logs that are already notched and ready to be stacked. Not Linda and Ivor, the owners and builders of a Smoky Mountain Retreat. They constructed the "real McCoy", and guests can notice the difference. Because the cabin is made with logs sawed at the local sawmill from trees that are harvested by Ivor, the fragrance and grain of the floors, walls, ceilings and porches are remarkable.
Cabin #5 has 2 bedrooms each with a queen downstairs. One bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, dining and living room are downstairs too. Upstairs provides 2 bedrooms each with 2 double beds, 1 loft area with 2 double beds, and 1 bathroom. The kitchen has a microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, full refrigerator, and range. There is also a washer and dryer, cable television and VCR, grill, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, and wood for the fireplace. Linens and towels are provided. All the things you would need to make yourself feel at home.
Nature is at your doorstep. Relax on the lovely covered porch and watch the sunset or listen to the crickets. There are plenty of places to go hiking, fishing, horseback riding, tubing, rafting, swimming, or biking. Visit the Cherokee Indian Reservation or Oconoluftee Indian Village. Other attractions in the area include Deep Creek, waterfalls, gem mining, Gatlinburg, Dollywood, Biltmore Estate, Fontana Dam, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Dillsboro and Pigeon Forge.
