We enjoyed our stay; it is a corner unit - very private and quiet. The photos are an accurate depiction - but do not show the high, vaulted ceilings, which give the rooms a larger dimension. We did not use the AC; I don't think is needed with the nice, comfortable breeze coming from the ocean - particularly at night. Everything worked well: kitchen appliances, tv/dvd (nice collection), water pressure and temperature was fine, bed was comfortable. You can walk on the beach to the Wreck Bar in Rum Point. My dealings with the owners were straightforward, timely communications, good response. The property manager, Ms. Welma was extremely helpful on a number of occasions. So, if you want privacy, fantastic views and quiet atmosphere, this place provides it. I recommend it and would return when I get the chance.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

My family stayed at Sea Lodge #23 from June 11 through June 17. The lodge was perfect for us in that we wanted an authentic Cayman vacation, not the commercialized version. This lodge fit the bill perfectly. The main living area has no air conditioning but instead has louvered doors across the entire front and back. There was a nice steady sea breeze flowing through this area at all times. The two bedrooms do have air conditioning which made sleeping comfortable. The furnishings were adequate, not the Ritz but more like your weekend lake house with somewhat dated furniture. The kitchen was well stocked and had the necessary items: blender, coffee maker, fridge and stove/oven. There were several games and also a library of movies. There was also Wifi that worked well. This lodge is on the end and closest to the water. The screened porch is a great attribute for dinners, drinks or an early morning coffee. We also loved the new Tiki that was built on the beach and provided shade while lounging on the beach. We had several people tell us during the trip that the best snorkeling on the island was right off the beach of the Sea Lodges. We were not disappointed and spent a lot of time snorkeling. There is very little current between the beach and the reef and the clarity of the water was crystal. There are several local restaurants within just a few minutes walk (Rum Point) or drive (Over the Edge, Tukka, Lighthouse, Miss Venessa's, South Beach Grill). It is possible to eat out without breaking the bank and I would recommend Over the Edge, Tukka, and Miss Venessa's. We did cook at the lodge a few nights and enjoyed having the weber grill. We used the McCurley's airport shuttle which included a grocery stop and a rental car waiting at our lodge. I would highly recommend this as well. Very convenient. So if you are looking for a low key, more native Cayman experience, I would highly recommend this lodge. Again, if you are looking for infinity pools, shopping, loud nightlife and someone to bring you drinks, this is not the place for you. We loved it and would go again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

House was adequate. Beach was fantastic! Definitely on the secluded side of the island and just far enough away from Rum Point (but within walking distance). All the other residents of the sealodges were great neighbors. We were fortunate to have several vacant sealodges next to us. Had the place and the beach to ourselves. The new palapa was a welcome addition. Had a blast! A really enjoyable vacation for 15 days. All the people that we met on the island were extremely friendly. Over the Edge restaurant is a must for breakfast or dinner (2 miles down the road). The marine life is unbelievable (50 steps to the water). Enjoyed the resident birds and lizards. Water temp is 80+. The setting was worth a million bucks (sunrise and sunsets, beach and crystal clear water). This was a spectacular vacation for my wife and our 2 friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

We recently spent an amazing week at Rum Point. Having never been there before and going by online photos and description leaves me wondering "what are we getting into?" Well, when we arrived, we immediately knew this was going to be an awesome place and an awesome vacation. And it was, all the way down to one last snorkel adventure hours before our plane left Cayman Airport. The Condo was great. There was a full bedroom and bath for my wife and I, plus another full bedroom and bath for our two adult kids. We all loved the place. Very comfortable and clean. Swimming and snorkeling right out our door was fantastic. Everything we needed was there. We bought groceries for the week and did a combination of eating breakfast and lunch at the condo and going out for dinner at local restaurants. Rum Point is dear to my wife as she went to camp there as a high school and college student. Returning to the island was a huge hit for her. We had a great time and would love to return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I spent Dec 17th - Dec 24th in this rental. What you see is what you get......the best view in the world. There was nothing lacking in the kitchen. Every possible gadget that you would need for cooking was there. (Might could use alittle more space to get around). You can snorkel in the beautiful blue-green water just steps away. Sleep at night with the ocean breeze blowing through the louvers. To get around we rented a car & drove to the Turtle Farm, to the city of Hell and lots of trips to the grocery store. We made the mistake to going to Georgetown on Sunday. Don't bother mostly eveything closes up shop on Sundays. Christmas of 2010 we were in St.Thomas, Virgin Island. My husband & I decide that Cayman was a much cleaner city than St. Thomas. We do plan on returning to the Caymans ASAP.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We rented this property last week. What a Treat. It's better than the pictures. This is a very clean residence. The beds were comfortable. All the appliances were spotless and worked without incident. The views were spectacular. We snorkeled right outside on the beach. This is a top-notch rental and I have been raving about it to everyone that I know. If you go to Grand Cayman then this is the rental you should choose. The owner was very helpful in providing us with information, answering questions, providing maps and "inside" tips of where to go and what to do. The rental was easy to locate as the owner provided detailed driving instructions. In addition to the snorkeling and beach combing on the property, there were many beaches close. Area dining was superb and clean. I am looking forward to returning to this rental.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

We had a wonderful time at your place. We are so glad that we did not stay on the 7 mile beach! Seven mile beach was just like Daytona, Clearwater, or any of the other beaches here in Florida. Your place there at was very nice and pleasant. To drive around was really not a big deal everyone was very courteous. (Hint the curb is your friend) The weather was super nice all week and the only rain was in the evenings. The grocery store was not too far away and the restaurants were also very close, which was nice too. We really did enjoy the castle and the gardens that are near by. We left the card of a captain that we chartered to take us out fishing on the refrigerator. He was a really nice guy. Red Sails at rum point was handy to take us out to Stingray City and snorkeling. Snorkeling off the beach at your place was very nice and as good as any place else that we went. .Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were familiar with the Rum Point of Grand Cayman, and knew what to expect, but this is the first time that we had stayed on that side of the island. Previously we had stayed on 7 Mile Beach, but this location is the quiet side of the island, which is exactly what we wanted. The condo is actually more of a cottage and is the end unit. It was perfect for us. The screened porch overlooking the ocean was heavenly!! You definitely need a car on this side of the island, though. The owners were very helpful in answering any and all of our questions, and sent area maps along with recommendations and directions. We can hardly wait to return.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed at Bob's condo the second week of June with our 5 year old daughter. It is a great place to stay if you want to have a quiet, relaxing, vacation. The property is pretty secluded over near Rum Point, which is just what we wanted. The condo itself is not fancy, but is cosy, and is well equipped if you are planning on eating in. It has a great sandy beach and there is some very good snorkeling on the healthy reef right off shore. The unit has a lovely screened porch with a beautiful view which makes it the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail in the evening and gaze out at the Caribbean. If you plan on venturing over to the touristy areas of Grand Cayman, it would be a good idea to rent a car. The trip to Georgetown is about an hour drive on average. Bob is a great owner to deal with. He is very helpful, and provided us with a lot of very useful information that helped us make the most out of our trip. The day we arrived we discovered one of the AC units was not working. I sent Bob an email in the evening, and by 10 am the next day, I got a call from someone to let me know they were going to come fix it. It was taken care of that same day. All in all I was completely satisfied with our rental. If I ever venture back to Grand Cayman I will definitely try to stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1985
About the owner: We were both born in Kentucky and we started dating in Jr. High School. We have two daughters and six grandchildren. We started a small company called Blue Grass Electronics and built it into a leading supplier to the electronic security industry. In 1995 we sold the company and we now have additional time to spend with our daughters and grandchildren. Also more time to spend in the Caymans. We first went to Grand Cayman in 1985 in April and purchased our little piece of paradise before the end of the year.
Why the Owner Chose Rum Point:
We first went to Grand Cayman in 1985 in April and purchased our little piece of paradise before the end of the year. We fell in love with the Cayman people, the beautiful water, snorkeling and most of the family learned to dive. The pristine beach and quietness make for a great get a way that is just an hour from Miami and the island is serviced by most major airlines. The island is very clean, English speaking, low crime rate, no poverty and the Cayman dollar is fixed to the US dollar. The weather is great all year round.
