Our home is located in one of the most prime locations on the North Shore. We are just steps away from the famous Hanalei bay which was named the 2009 Best Beach in America and a 4 minute walk from Hanalei town. Our Hanalei Villa is a large home with 4 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 11 people. I have chosen to break my house into three separate to accommodate different size parties. The suites are completely private and are divided by a door which can be opened for a large party renting the entire house. The suites have separate entrances and share access to the laundry room, two outdoor showers and fruit trees in the yard. The Hibiscus Suite is great for a couple looking for a romantic vacation or a small family of four. The Plumeria and Gardenia are a bit less expensive than the HIbiscus, while still having the same incredible location.
Our Hibiscus suite has one bedroom and sleeps up to 4 people. It has a gorgeous master bedroom with king size bed and 1200 count egyptian cotton sheets. There is also a giant jacuzzi tub in your master bathroom. Save money and cook your own meals in our huge kitchen complete with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. You can completely relax on your two private lanais that are perfect for private tanning or stargazing.
This house is great for any vacationer whether you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway, a family of any size, a traveler looking for some incredible surf (winter months) or a large party. Once you arrive you will find you have little need anymore for a car. Everything you need including surf, life guarded beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, and farmers market’s are walking distance to the house. You will not be bored.. there is horseback riding, helicopter sightseeing, boating tours, ATVing, ziplining, hiking, tennis and golf at world-renowned Princeville Golf Course all within minutes of Hanalei Town. The Kauai bus service has a pick up 4 minutes from the house. It is available six days a week and runs every hour from 5 a.m-6 p.m and can take you from one end of the island to another. We also provide bikes which you can use to get around town and if you are really fit you can bike to the end of the road. It is a beautiful 30 minute bike ride with lots of hills and gorgeous views of the Pacific.
While staying in our house, you will get the opportunity to be really connected with Kauai and get the ultimate experience. You will not be just another tourist staying in a hotel, eating in overpriced restaurants, and getting a sunburn at the pool all day... I stayed in the Hibiscus Suite for 10 days and had a wonderful time. There were plenty of bikes to use, which was a great alternative to get to town (3 minutes away on bike). It's the perfect location to the best part of the beach. The place was very clean, lots of towels and a nice big kitchen. There's a wonderful heated outdoor shower for those long beach days and a place to store your surf boards. We stayed in this property for 2weeks and rose everyday to the sound of the surf and the wind rustling through the palms .................... Spent way too much time contemplating the world lying in the hammock trying to decide which other beach to go to and should we buy fresh fish or have someone else cook instead :~)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We love the location of this beautiful home - so many conveniences - close to the beach, outdoor foot shower, chairs, bikes, sand toys provided. Maile was fabulous to work with as well - very prompt in her responses and willing to help make the vacation a great one. The beds were all comfortable and the place was very clean upon our arrival. As background, stayed for a week in June at the Hanalei Villa, in the Hibiscus suite. Family of four with two young children. The suite itself was a wonderful surprise, if anything exceeding our expectations from the photos. Very high ceilings, great natural light, good amenities. The kitchen is amazing as are the two terraces - despite the proximity to some very nice restaurants we chose on seven occasions to have a family BBQ on the terrace to really enjoy the setting. The main bedroom is comfortable, the fold out bed for the kids was ok but not great. The access to the laundry was very welcome given the young kids too. Oh, and the jacuzzi was a real blast! Maile was extremely responsive and frindly both in helping us prepare our stay and during/after. In terms of location it is pretty unbeatable: just opposite the beach access, yet walking distance to the village. The beach was definitely the highlight, the bay is beautiful for running, swimming or surfing. Kauai is a fabulous island, the development has been managed very well and the vibe is very relaxed. The scenery is incredibly beautiful. It did rain quite a bit during our stay but given the warm temperatures it did not stop us from being active: kayaking up the Hanalei river in a small storm was one of my daugthe's highlights! All in all two thumbs up: didn't want to leave!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Kauai and the Hanalei Villa exceeded our high expectations in every way! We stayed in the Gardenia Suite and loved the light, airy space, the convenience to everything we wanted to do on the North Shore (especially long walks on the beautiful beach across the street!) and the beautiful balcony which provided a more romantic and better view than any restaurant around. The apartment is in a lovely neighborhood and was clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was exactly what we needed after a long hike on the Napali Coast. The host was generous with information and contacts for things to do and places to eat. We will definitely return to Kauai and absolutely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a mid-September trip to Hanalei and the weather was perfect. Most importantly, our vacation rental was perfect. We stayed in the Plumeria suite. It was a highly affordable 2 bedroom rental with a kitchen, full bathroom (awesome shower), dining area and living area. The rental is literally a few steps away from the beach. We checked out the entire island, and Hanalei was the best in our opinion. Our land lady, Maile, was the most hospitable person I have ever met. Thank you. We will use this place again in our future visits to the island.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We truely enjoyed Hanalei and the north shore. The location of this property made it easy for us to do different activities: hiking,snorkling,swimming,paddling or surfing. Walking or cycling to town was also a bonus. The owners are accommodating and pleasant to deal with and the people on the north shore are extremely polite, friendy and patient. Visiting this area on Kauwai is a must!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

About the owner: My name is Maile and my family and I have lived in this house my whole life. Currently, I am living in California to complete my education. I travel a lot, and return to my house in Kauai quite frequently. I am sharing my house with you to help pay expenses until I complete school. I absolutely loved growing up in this house and know you will love staying here. The house has a very warm and calming energy. While living in this home I found that I spent most of my time at the beach exercising or taking naps on the sand. It is almost impossible to stay inside when you are staying in the Hanalei Villa because the nature is calling.
