Access to great local restaurants and all the entertainment of the nearby Woodlands and Houston area. We are also only a 15 minute drive to the seasonal Renaissance Festival (every weekend in October and November) the largest of its kind in the United States.
We have nature trails to walk through our heavily wooded five acre property, bird watching and other wildlife, enjoy our private swimming pool or fish in the stocked pond. Use our outdoor private shower or just relax in our hammock under the large Oak trees then watch your favorite movie in our full size movie room. Do as much or as little as possible in a very private setting. Please feel free to email us for additional pictures.

My wife and I love Texas! I was a custom home builder who built our dream home in the heavily wooded area just north of Houston called Magnolia. We enjoy the outdoors and have designed our home to take advantage of the warm weather of the gulf coast area. The small town of Magnolia next to the big city of Houston is the best combination of both worlds for us.

We, a german family of four, really enjoyed staying in this wonderful house for a couple days in late September/ early October while visiting The Woodlands. The house is very charming, welcoming and comfortable, it felt like home. It was very well stocked with towels and bath items and the master bed was very comfortable - something really unusual for "common" vacation rentals! But this house is something special! The master bathroom is really nice and the shower is great. We loved exploring the property, sitting at the fishing pond or taking long walks in the very nice, quiet neighborhood. Thanks for hosting us!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying 5 nights at this property, specifically March 31-April 5th 2011. To be honest, the property was more beautiful than what the pictures are capable of showing. We found the home in great condition upon our arrival. The lights left on our first night finding the home was very thoughtful and appreciated. Our extended family gathered for a wedding north of Houston and found this home to be the perfect solution. The home was spacious and comfortable, and the surrounding property was beautiful. Communication with the homeowners was easy and efficient.

We planned a family reunion for my father's 90th birthday and rented this house. I was pleasantly surprised because it was much nicer than depicted by the photos. It had everything we needed for 3 days of eating and enjoying one another's company. The kitchen is well prepared for feeding a large group with a double oven and a large refrigerator. It was very comfortable and had something for everyone. We could all gather indoors without feeling we were on top of each other or enjoy the large patio outdoors. This property is warm, lovely, versatile, and very friendly. I would definately recommend this rental property.

We loved our stay!! Gorgeous house! Beautiful setting, very private and peaceful. The owners are extremely nice and very accommodating. While the photos accurately depict the house and surroundings, they don't do it justice!! Children will love this home, especially the media room! We had plans in Houston, but canceled them and just stayed in the pool. We had a great dinner and heard a live band at Ransom's Steakhouse and Salon--about 15 from the house. There were only 3 of us, but we hope to go back with friends. We would definitely recommend it! We normally stay in 3-5 star hotels when we travel, and this was actually more economical!! And worth every penny!! Many thanks Todd and Karen!!

This was even more than we expected! It is situated in the most wonderful setting which the photos reflect accurately. The house was very clean and well maintained. I am from the UK and was visiting my Texan relatives. This was the ideal place for a family get-together - spacious, comfortable and homely. We had a great time eating out under the gazebo, splashing about in the pool and just being together in such a special place. Plenty of facilities such as shops and restaurants close by and it doesn't take long to drive into Houston. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

We were on a 6-city tour showing off Texas with a cousin over from the UK. Our stay at Todd and Karen's house in Magnolia absolutely holds the best memories for me. The house is well equipped and cozy-comfortable yet luxurious. The grounds are secluded and spacious, simply perfect on several levels. Not only did the place suit our needs but we felt at home there and didn't leave except for a tour of NASA -- I had planned a spa-like "pause" to spend with family -- every moment was delicious. Our dogs loved the yard and happily chased & played until they dropped. We all enjoyed the swimming pool and movie room to excess. It's very kid-friendly too, although the only child in our group is an infant, he took to the swimming pool right away! We are experienced VRBO clients, traveling the States, Hawaii, and the UK. This listing exceeds expectation. It more than lives up to the description; the Barretto's are responsive and helpful and we found everything we needed there or nearby. We will be back, I hope, and can recommend the experience with honest enthusiasm.

We had a dinner for 29 people on Friday evening, then sat around the firepit visiting and making smores. Saturday morning we were up early for a long hike around the property and neighborhood. Then we tried our luck with fishing in the small lake on the property. We were sad to leave for the birthday party that brought us to Houston in the first place..., everyone wished we could celebrate here instead!
