Tahoe Winter Wonderland. Diamond Peak Ski Area is just across the street!
Location: Bitterbrush, Incline Village, Incline Village NV, Lake Tahoe Nevada, Nevada, USA (30 Minutes to Reno International Airport)
Accommodations: Townhome, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 3.5 Baths (Sleeps 8-10)
Keywords: Townhouse Condominium
Across the way from Diamond Peak, one of Tahoe's loveliest ski resorts, this spacious, tastefully decorated north shore home offers spectacular views of world famous Lake Tahoe from nearly every window. Two nicely sized decks offer a fantastic place to entertain and barbeque while enjoying breathtaking western sunsets over the lake and mountains.
This newer, 2900 sq. ft. 4 story home offers great separation of living space. Because of its excellent layout, this is the perfect home for one large family or two smaller families. The home features beautiful artwork, much of it Tahoe themed. The furniture is comfortable and includes some antiques. Open bean/ high ceilings on the top two floors add to the feeling of spaciousness. The top floor is home to the great room and the kitchen. This floor is at street level, making entry and unloading groceries a breeze from the garage or street. The gourmet kitchen features stunning black granite and top of the line appliances, including a large gas stove. Unlike many vacation rentals, our kitchen is fully stocked with spices, oils and condiments - just about everything you need to prepare a Thanksgiving feast or just whip up some pancakes before a day on the slopes or swimming in the lake.
The great room flows from the kitchen and is perfect for entertaining and enjoying the views. It features up-to-date electronics, including a 40 inch Samsung LCD TV and Blu-ray player. Each of the other floors has its own TV and DVD player.
Below the great room and kitchen, the large master bedroom and bath occupy an entire floor. The master bedroom has a king bed with luxurious Temperpedic pillow top. The master bath is highlighted by an oversized shower with lovely travertine throughout. Enjoy a long, hot, relaxing shower while watching the snow drift down outside the lake view private bathroom windows!
Below the master floor is one large bedroom with a queen bed, the den (with wet bar and fireplace) and a bath. The 3rd and 4th bedrooms are on the bottom floor. One has two twin beds, the other a queen. A Jack and Jill bathroom separates these two bedrooms. Plenty of quality linens and towels (including beach towels) are provided.
A unique and important feature is the private in-home elevator. If you are traveling with the elderly, or if a disabled person is part of your group, the elevator will provide them with easy access to the top three floors. It is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. It also makes it easy to deal with luggage upon arrival or on departure. Another unique feature of our home is the arcade style counter top video game console in the den. It features dozens of trivia, card and puzzle type games to challenge both old and young. There is also an Xbox and board games to help keep the kids occupied.
No home in Tahoe would be complete without a fireplace, and ours has three - in the great room, master bedroom and den. The radiant in-floor heating system is cozy and quiet. At your disposal you will find a telescope and binoculars. Any of the numerous winter and summer toys in the garage are yours to use, including sleds, backpacks, coolers and beach chairs. In our library, we've included informative books on Tahoe history, hiking trails and local shrubs and trees along with various other guide books and a selection of novels.
Diamond Peak is well-known for being very family friendly and has a reputation of offering the best ski and snowboard instruction for children in the entire Tahoe area. The Diamond Peak facilities were remodeled in 2010. Its runs have some of the greatest views of the Lake and the western horizon of any ski resort in Tahoe. A huge plus is that Diamond Peak is never overcrowded like the mega ski areas. A round trip from our home to the Diamond Peak parking area is less than 5 minutes. If you want a greater challenge than what Diamond Peak provides, Tahoe is also home to such "big names" as Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar and Heavenly Valley. Snowshoeing has been gaining in popularity in recent years and the local opportunities abound.
If summer is your season, then you are probably well aware of Lake Tahoe's international reputation as a premier summer playground. Swimming, boating, kayaking and any and all other water sports and activities await you. The crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe are only minutes away from our home. You could spend years exploring the hiking trails in and around the Tahoe basin. When it comes to golf, there are tens of dozens of beautiful courses in the Tahoe-Reno area. Nothing makes you feel more like a pro than nailing a drive in that thin mountain air!
Incline Village is the crown jewel of Lake Tahoe. Perhaps that is why its lakefront property is some of the most expensive in the country! Incline's north shore location is much less crowded and more quiet than what is found on Tahoe's busier and more developed south shore. Incline's amenities include a modern recreation center, two private beaches, tennis courts, and both the Championship and Mountain golf courses. The town of Incline offers plenty of shopping, from a major supermarket to boutique shops and everything in-between. There is both casual and fine dining at the many local restaurants. If you visit in summer, don't miss the annual Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at nearby Sand Harbor
When you are ready for some nighttime fun, the Hyatt Resort and Casino is the "best bet" on the north shore, and is only minutes away. If it's serious excitement you are after, the nightlife and world class entertainment offered by both Tahoe's South Shore and in Reno is little more than a half hour away, as is the Reno International Airport.
If the perfect Lake Tahoe vacation is what you seek, you've found it here.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2002
Jim, an investor, and Trish Melehan, a former teacher enjoy frequent trips to Tahoe with their dog Dingo. Sometimes their grown children and 2 granddaughters join them for a special holiday. They love to entertain their family and friends at the home as well. The home is really too big for just the two of them, but often that's what it is, Jim and Trish's special getaway. They love to hike and swim in the lake during the summer months. Jim also enjoys the abundance of golf in the region. During the winter they enjoy snowshoeing. They also occasionally venture into one or more of the local casinos for some recreational gambling. Jim likes to place the occasional sports bet and Trish enjoys poker. The restaurants in the Tahoe area are terrific, but a nice quiet bar-b-que and dinner on the deck followed by a rented movie can make for a perfect evening.
Why the Owner Chose Bitterbrush
Our families have been visiting Tahoe for generations we've always dreamed of our own home at the lake. It is only a few hours drive from our home in the Monterey Bay Area to our place in Tahoe. We love the mountains and will never tire of our view of the lake that we love so much.
The Unique Benefits of this Townhome
Tahoe has so much to offer both young and old. Diamond Peak is right across the street, so since Jim doesn't ski he gets to drop the skiers off at the lodge and pick them up at the end of the day. The round trip drive takes 5 minutes! Incline's private beaches are only minutes away, as is the championship golf course. Swimming in the winter is always fun in the Olympic size indoor pool at Incline's Rec Center. Incline is a very lovely town with a real home town feel. One bypasses much of Tahoe's lakeshore traffic during the winter when one stays in Incline Village. We love the private beaches in the summer months!

We had five in our group traveling up to Incline Village for a Wedding. This condo was beyond what we expected. It has so much room, a bathroom on every floor, and the view is outstanding. We are already making plans with our family for a return trip. I would highly recommend this property...well, actually, I already have to just about everyone!! Thanks Jim and Trish for sharing your beautiful home!

This condominium is absolutely beautiful and is equipped with everything, and more, than you could possibly want. I have to say that the photos do not do it justice. We were in Incline Village for our son's wedding and had 8 people sleeping here. We were all getting ready for the wedding at the same time and we never got in each others way. My 91 year old mother loved the elevator, as she was sleeping two flights down. Trish was personable and helpful, answering any questions we had about the area. We would definitely stay here again.

Our family attended a Wedding in Incline and the condo was perfect for a group of 8, 5 adults and 3 children. Plenty of space for everyone 3.5 bathrooms made getting ready for a Wedding very doable . The condo exceeded our expectations. It was extremly clean , very well equipped, well furnished with beautiful art work, and nice touches. The view of the Lake always reminds us why we keep going to Tahoe. I would recommend the condo to family and friends.

Our family of six adults plus a baby and a toddler spent three nights here, and we were completely spoiled! This condo has four equal floors: the top floor is the kitchen and living area, and the other three floors are bedroom suites. My husband and I stayed in the master suite, which was over-the-top in simple beauty and comfort. Our newly-married son and daughter-in-law had the next floor down, and our daughter and her family had the bottom floor. It was so great that each family had a private bath and floor all to themselves. And almost no sound was ever heard from one floor to the other, no creaking floors or even voices carried much. There are views of the ski slopes and lake from every floor, with plenty of windows. The kitchen looks brand new, and is a joy to use. We do a lot of cooking and baking, and we could have used a mixer, more measuring spoons and cups, and a rubber spatula, but pretty much everything else we could have needed was there. There was even a telescope we used every night to check out the stars. Be sure to take a look at the virtual tour (the link is right under the calendar -- easy to miss). It shows nearly every square inch of this beautiful condo. We found it to be accurately described in every respect, and SUPER CLEAN, which really helped us relax! The only glitch was that the elevator wasn't working, but we knew it probably wouldn't be before we even rented it, but the stairs weren't a problem for us. The owners are currently working with the company that installed it to get it up and running properly. Trish was prompt and helpful in responding to all my questions and concerns, and very prompt in returning the unused portion of our security deposit. She even took it upon herself to mail me some items I had left there and forgotten about. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who wants a really comfortable, clean and beautiful place to stay, with killer views! Just a general note: the 4 p.m. check-in and 10 a.m. check-out times seem to have become the standard, but it really carves a lot of time out of a short stay, and was a problem for us with little ones who nap. It would be nice to have some flexibility with those times if there isn't a renter just before or after the rental period.
