The 1-bedroom Ocean View has 3 big picture windows facing the across-the-street beach with uninterrupted ocean views; the 1-bedroom Cottage sits behind it next to a blooming mountain jungle. Auntie began accepting guests in 1983 and just welcomed second generation honeymooners from one of her first brides and grooms.
Kauai is for romance, healing, relaxation, peace and outdoor experiences. Auntie, who has never advertised, is "home-away-from-home" to writers, musicians, honeymooners, anniversary celebrants, photographers, travelholics, and those in need of privacy. The Aloha Spirit is a way of life and not a slogan at Auntie's.
The rentals are light, airy, and simply furnished with original Hawaiian art on the walls. Built in the 1940s, they represent a bygone lifestyle. If you can forego a big-screen TV and game machines, accept the sound of roosters, say "no" to a persistent calico cat who wants to come in but is not allowed, and put up with desired minor repairs that are evaded by the handyman, you will find your haven here.
